  1. I thought this bug had been dealt with years ago when it was first noted.
  2. Beautiful. One can imagine the dozens, (or hundreds?) of man-hours that map has taken.
  3. Marco... THANK YOU. I love your range-calibre weapon mods and try to bodge together versions for all the games (eg: CMA). I hope you one day update the mod for all the games.
  4. I get the sense that more and more bugs are cropping up esp in the older titles (CMSF2 has a horrible number). Maybe their govt work is taking up more of BF's time.
  5. Wot Centurian said. Good summary. My sense is that as one gains experience as to what units can accomplish in a certain time, one handles assaults manually and not rely on the ASSAULT command. Whenever I have experimented with the ASSAULT command the units seem to tire a lot quicker and the overall "result" is less satisfactory.
  6. Warts may have hit on the answer. The Jeep in question is in a set-up zone and one can mount inf units and acquire ammo. But, one cannot DISMOUNT or BAIL OUT. One has to use a movement order to get the inf unit out. The puzzle is that the Jeep is set-up initially with an inf unit (2-man FO) on board. Perhaps the crew was KIA in the previous mission and/or the Jeep was immobilized. But it is some sort of bug that something weird is happening here. Doesn't spoil the game, so no biggy...
  7. CMFB "Claymores" campaign, Mission 3. During setup, a Jeep is seen as "Dismounted" when it clearly has a 2-man FO passengers in the front seats (no other passengers or driver). But, also there is no ability to "dismount" or "bail out". the FO One can only dismount the FO by giving it a movement order into the setup zone. One can mount an inf unit into the empty Jeep and ACQUIRE ammo, But, one has to use a movement order (even though it is the only unit in the vehicle) to enable the unit to dismount. ie: the Jeep cannot be ordered to move. Picture wouldn't post unfortunately, but game file available.
  8. Yes, Point Target gets a better chance of an attack. But, one still has to spot the ATGM first as they could be hiding anywhere. My take is that designers should avoid making missions which rely on aircraft spotting and killing leg teams (eg: ATGM's) as this tactic does not work in CM. Am replaying mission 12 of the German Campaign and this time letting the aircraft loiter for a full hour b4 assaulting. The scenario is long, 2.5 hours, so we'll see if a longer time works for air spotting. However... just sitting around and pressing GO for 60 turns does not make for a fun game experience.
  9. Runs fine on the older Win 7 machine I use for games (I dislike my Win 10 OS machines). One has to appreciate the engine is 2007 vintage. We've been waiting and hoping for a CM3 engine, but no word on any progress there.
  10. IIRC aircraft ammo will be resupplied for every mission. If it's shot down...? Not so sure. Depends on the design. Artillery ammo may or may not be resupplied depending on the design parameters. The designer should state the missions in which resupply does/does not occur. (And yes, sometimes it is not clear.) Note that you may have onmap arty resupplied while offboard is not... or vice versa. Again, the designer should make that clear in the Briefing.
  11. This has probably been reported before, but when the MG gun rotates to fire at a target, the gunner stays looking forwards and does not rotate with the MG.
  12. You may be correct. My concern is that I have played a several missions where the design notes glibly instruct/advise the player to send out aircraft or drones to locate the enemy ATGM's and/or tanks, and destroy them so that one can move up one's own AFV's. My experience is that the aircraft can see very little if anything even after loitering for 20-25 minutes and then go back to base. That means waiting another 7-12 minutes to order the aircraft back - to repeat the useless procedure. Am playing the German Campaign in CMSF2 and mission 12(?) presents this situation. After 30 minutes of using arty to pummel suspected ATGM positions plus the aircraft seeming to shoot at a couple locations, I moved out my KG and promptly got 3 AFV and IFV (+passengers) KIA by 4 or 5 ATGM's that were unspotted. The ATGM's died within seconds of firing, but that was cold comfort. It feels as if this tactic of sending out aircraft to spot and kill ATGM's was not playtested, as it it doesn't work even though those are the instructions in the briefing.
  13. Playing a lot of CMSF2 and many missions advise the player to use aircraft to spot and take out enemy units - esp ATGM's - before one makes one's assault. But, I have found that the aircraft rarely locate an ATGM (they are bit better with tanks). Not sure if this is yet another CMSF bug, or the game does not simulate well the ability of aircraft to spot leg units - even after 20+ minutes. Experienced similar issues with drones in CMBS. They rarely work as advertised.
  14. Am grateful for this as there seem to be very few terrain/building mods for CMFI.
  15. Re "convoy pathing" one can also use slower moves orders for following in vehicles in addition to the time delay (for the first waypoint in any case). As we know, time delays go up exponentially, and one rarely wants a 15 second pause as one gets between 30 and 45 sec pauses.
