  1. Hey grease spot! (that's you, Lars) Fixed the bolding, just for Der Fuehrer.
  2. I was thinking about a game I had going last night, where I had all the minor axis powers doing garrison duty. All to keep partisans from wrecking my MPP, as things were going badly in Russia, because my opponent had gotten lucky with upgrades. As I had all the mines/cities garrisoned, there was no activity at all. This frustrated my opponent, and he questioned the realism of it. This got me thinking that it would be nice if an Allied power could somehow divert resources to "supplying" the partisan groups. The UK expended a lot of time, money and effort in supplying/training partisans, especially the French underground. Either a "convoy route", or possibly a purchased unit, that is placed only in the country it was purchased for, and only in very limited places. Thoughts?
  3. Hey grease spot! (that's you, Lars) Must send turn for you to be ground into the soil of Mother Russia! See how I speak in broken eeegnlish, just like Russians in bad war movie? Get the turn out, spot! Out, Spot, out!
  4. I once was completely taken with the German side, before I had a real grasp of what war really entails, and especially this one. Sometimes, when I win as the Axis, I do feel slightly guilty about it. That I do, is a sign that I haven't lost my humanity. I hope.
  5. Jeez, Lars. Have I wounded your pride so much you can't quote me? I had taken Gibralter, all of Egypt and even Vichy, Tunis, etc. I owned the Med, entirely. The entire italian fleet was bombarding the port to 0 each turn, and slowly reducing the garrison, but they were still able to reinforce to 8 each time. That's just goofy. If anything, the strength should drop as the defenders run out of everything from ammo to food to socks.
  6. Man, what a blabbermouth. And he even double posted it!
  7. Lars' brave (but boneheaded) brautwurst boys are sauntering into the Ukraine. He's in for a world of hurt in the very near future. Late summer '41, and he hasn't even put a dent in the Ruskie steamroller. His poorly led troops will soon be grease spots on the steppes.
  8. You're just mad that he's absolutely correct in his assessment of your "honor" (or lack thereof).
  9. Boo being gamey IS NOT NEWS, Joe. Try to keep up, huh? I see that being deathly ill this weekend was not in vain; at least I missed all the minor functionaries (emphasis on minor) quibbling. You goons could bore a corporate accountant to death. But, as is right, I have prevailed. Justice is served (with a parsley garnish and asparagus on the side). STOAT! Front and center, boyo. I have a few "chores" for you.
  10. Sounds interesting. Let us know when and where it will be available.
  11. It's too difficult to eliminate, especially if the port is at 0, and it has no way to resupply. I have taken Gibralter, control Egypt, and have the place surrounded by the Italian fleet. Just how are they getting reinforcements in? Do they have a Star Trek transporter? Very annoying.
  12. Lars is rolling me up like a tennant's cheap carpet on eviction day. It is not a good time to be the Allies right now.
  13. Sheesh, you don't want any of us to have a life, do you?
  14. I wanna simulate the Campbelltown destroyer attack agains the ports! See here for info: Wiki page One of the crazier plans of the war. Amazingly, it seems to have worked quite well.
  15. All except the hedgehog, which can't be buggered at all. Where's my turn (not often I get to ask that), you mouthbreather?
  16. An excellent source is Speer's book, "Inside the Third Reich". He says that for all the destruction, it was surprisingly ineffective. He always wondered why the bombing wasn't concentrated on the Rhur dams, because power production/distribution was the weak link in the system. The only notable exception was the bombing of major bridges and rail hubs, which hampered supply and troop movements.
  17. It will take a while just to complete all stuff. Then it will need playtesting. </font>
  18. M. Dorosh only has figures for the Canadian SLOD, not the generic Alpha Centuri ones. He can tell you all about the uniforms, though.
  19. I'd like to see it the way it was with rockets in one of the SC1 scenarios. Give them a bomber (or even 2), but have them come out in late 1942 and/or early '43. Each of the units is at 0 lvl tech, and at strength 1 or 2. That way, it takes a while to build them up to strength, and research the tech necessary to make them effective. Not hard to counter with a couple of fighters, but in reality, that was one of the main goals of the bomber campaign in the first place; tie up fighters so that they couldn't be used on the Eastern front.
