  1. Break? Bah! I've actually been staying up working on these until one in the morning, so as not to interfere with quality baby/daddy time. Everything is AOK on the little one front. Thanks for asking.
  2. The Romanian MOD is ready for download now at CMMODS.COM Go get 'em! Some screenshots: Early-war Romanian infantry showing optional helmet cover and summer tunics. Late-war Romanian infantry Romanian Co/Bn HQ. I tried to give the cap a more "Romanian" look--there are a few subtle differences now from the German M43 cap. Note the map of Odessa in the mapcase. Mountain officer. Like the Italians and (98% of) the Hungarians this one is entirely "from scratch." [ June 14, 2003, 03:37 AM: Message edited by: AndrewTF ]
  3. You mean like this? Still a bit left to do, but it's getting there...
  4. Måkjager, that Chaffee is looking great! I tried my hand at an M24 mod a while back, but no matter what I did I just could not make the thing look good. Perhaps I started it too close to finishing my Pershing mod and got burned a little burned out... Either way I'll just sit back and wait for you to finish this one.
  5. I think I included a French sleeve patch option in the American uniform mod. At least I think I did. I know I made one, so I probably released it at some point.
  6. Yeah, I found that site a while ago. A lot of good references there. And you're right, most of the soldiers in the photos seem to be minimally equipped, so I'll probably follow accordingly with the mod. Worked on it some more last night--it's coming along.
  7. Um, if this is happening you're either not putting the proper BMPs in or not putting them in the right place. I get this from time to time when I'm using combinations of different mods and get the arm BMPs mixed up. That's the only suggestion I can really give you.
  8. OK--done! BTW, Paul "Måkjäger" Mc Mahon came through with some nifty pix from the Osprey Romanian uniforms book, so he earns the title of "Extra-Special Best Friend". Thanks from a fellow Mac user. I'm still needing pix of fieldgear if anyone else can contribute, but I should be able to finish the mod with the info sent by Måkjäger.
  9. You're not the only one... Anyone able to help out here? Individuals who provide useful reference material will be awarded the honorific of "my extra-special best friend", which will be announced to the world in this very thread! The Hungarians managed to come through for me earlier (big time). Any Romanians out there?
  10. Help out an Axis (Allied?) Minor, will you? As you can see, the Romanian uniform mod is nearing completion. Seen here are early-war infantry soldier and officer. Note new officer uniform and cloth helmet cover. What I need to complete this mod are decent pix of Romanian field gear, i.e. bags, water bottles, etc. Pictures of the "y-strap" type suspenders would also be useful, although soldiers don't seem to be wearing them in most of the period photos I've seen, so I may leave them out altogether. I've got plenty of uniform references, but few for field gear and equipment. And yes, I am aware of the two Romanian army sites out there. There's a third, actually, but it doesn't have any pictures. 11. If you read Hans' follow-up post it's pretty clear that his conversation with this fellow was in Arabic, so the term "brew up" is probably a translation.
  12. Nicely done! I might have to "borrow" the suspender idea for a future mod...
  13. The Best Place for Mods. Best place to buy beer is either Trader Joe's or Beverages and More. At least that's where I go.
  14. The same. I liked the part where the "German" T-34 rolls down the aisle of a church in pursuit of the bazooka team. I want to be able to do that in CM!!!
  15. Wow, I wasn't aware of that! Thanks for enlightening me, Michael! Seriously, it is a little odd to see color footage and photographs of the second big one, as (as a number of posters already mentioned) we see it as a "black and white" war. Growing up watching 1960s and 1970s color war movies where the people all still look like they're from the 60s and 70s (like this bizarre movie I saw the other morning around 3 am with Burt Lancaster and Peter Falk and crazy Bruce Dern) adds to the strangeness.
  16. Always gotta leave in little surprises for people to find on their own  . Before the map grogs get on my case I'll confess that it's taken from a 1950s US Army map of the Kiev area that I found online somewhere.
  17. It's Juju's small arms "modslut project" mod. I think it is available at TCMHQ, as well as Modslut Central.
  18. Marcus, The Hungarian uniform file numbering listed on Michael Dorosh's uniform BMP # page is incorrect. The correct numbering for the cavalry leg files is 9764, 9765, and 9766. 9766 is the B/C HQ leg. I don't know what 9767 is, but I suspect it belongs to a one of the vehicle crews. Michael: it looks like the BMPs for the officer headgear are incorrect, too. 9782 is the infantry B/C HQ cap and 9783 is the cavalry HQ cap. The platoon HQs use the same BMPs as their respective platoons.
  19. Tooz Unfortunately it's not possible to modify the game's existing 3D models, so units are stuck with whatever headgear the BFC guys deemed appropriate. We can change the outer appearance all we want, but the shape stays the same.
  20. Thanks for asking. He's doing great! I can sneak down to the office and make mods while he and mom are napping. Actually, the uniforms aren't too time-consuming to make, since they work on a kind of template system (well, kind of), so I can still put in my fair share of work changing poopy diapers and stuff.
  21. Available now at the usual place. Replacement textures for Hungarian infantry and Cavalry uniforms with new field gear and insignia. All from scratch, as usual, except for the badge on the Coy HQ's right pocket and the uniform buttons. Pictures say more than words (seen here with Juju's small arms mod, as always ). Infantry, showing new fieldgear treatment. Cavalry/Hussars Hussar and Infantry Coy/Bn HQs. Note the new cap with tricolor badge and rank insignia. I added some a badge and some ribbons as well as nice shiny brass buttons to make them stand out. Platoon/Section HQs Special thanks to Lacko Bardosy and all the Hungarian CM fans who provided me with great reference material for this mod. There may be more coming .
  22. I updated the mod set with the missing Alpini officer BMPs. I also posted the two files in a separate zip Both are ready for download now at CMMods.com.
  23. The Alpini officer legs, right? I guess it would be out of character for me not to forget at least one BMP... Fix is coming up.
  24. Thanks for the kind words, Michael. That's what we modders live for, since we're definitely not getting paid for doing this! The reference for the Russian Front Badge (not Eastern Front, my mistake) that I used was found here web page Toward the bottom of the page.
