  1. Personally, I don't see what the problem is with the flag. It's not supposed to be camouflage, but an aerial recognition marker so it's supposed to be bright and colorful just like in real life. It looks good in-game, so give it a try. There's a flagless option in case you just can't stand it anymore. I tried to tone down the colors (more than they are already) but it just ended up looking very unconvincing. If anyone wants to take another go at it then please do so. I'll be interested to see what can be done.
  2. Well, fine then, Mr. Nitpick, just humiliate me in public why don't you? You're probably right, but I claim "Artistic License". So there. So... what unit marking would you *want* to see on there?
  3. Versions *without* the flag are included in all downloads. Had some e-mail inquiries about this and wanted to clear up any confusion.
  4. Wow. Usually, I hate what people do to my mods (other than add pretty camo patterns), but this is superb! You sure you're new at this? As Curly Howard would say "You're a child progeny!" Nice work. One nitpick: it looks like the "Emil" name, which is cool, is in the Old English font. I'd re-do it in Fraktur, which will look better and be more authentic and the grogs will go "oooh". I found several versions for free on the Web. If it already is in Fraktur and I'm just being lame then please disregard.
  5. That's the idea. There's a no-flag version, too. Or make your own flag if you don't like it.
  6. I decided to see what my Sd Kfz 251 mod would look like in panzer gray. Not as easy as I thought, though. Many hours and several fights with the wife later here it is It seems I forgot to add the download link. It was late and I was tired... get it at www.cmmods.com Some views of the Sd Kfz 251/1 Ausf. C 251/10 251/2 Standard mod has Großdeutschland unit markings and aerial recognition flag. Options for unmarked (except for crosses) and Waffen-SS versions are included. Ready for download in about ten minutes. [ August 04, 2003, 01:05 AM: Message edited by: AndrewTF ]
  7. Updated late-war Waffen-SS uniforms are available now at the Combat Mission Mod Database. This latest version (the third!) features an all-new improved more realistic 44-dot camouflage. This time around I included only the 44-dot uniforms in this set. I also included the 44-dot vehicle crew uniforms as well.
  8. Sorry, I forgot to post here--corrected mod is ready for download now! Winter version for CMBB is included now, too. (will have to be renumbered for CMBO).
  9. I've never been happy with the 44-dot camouflage pattern in my late W-SS mod. It was close, but not quite what I wanted. Until today, when I found some good images of original uniforms that I was able to extract a decent, continuous pattern from. So, for those of you who asked me a uniform with less of a red tinge, here you go! I think it's better looking and it's more historically accurate. It will be ready for download tomorrow after I finish the winter uniforms.
  10. All fixed now! I also added a winter version to the zip, so go get in now!
  11. Apparently there's a problem with the Zip file. I'll repost the mod this evening.
  12. Ok, so it doesn't work. Blame it on Steve Jobs. I'll repost when I get home.
  13. Strange... must be some sort of problem with this verson of Mac Zipit I have here. I had no problem unzipping it to test. An OS X thing? Worst case scenario I repost this evening.
  14. All-new from-scratch bunker mod avaialable for download now at the CM Mod Database. This is a completel reworking of the bunker textures, designed after real WW2 fortifications. New features include realistic concrete textures, new door, and a 30mm armor plate w/firing and viewing apertures replacing the open firing slit on the original. Available in plain or camo flavors. Works with both CMBO and CMBB. It looks like a real bunker!
  15. Ready for download now! An all-new design, more realistic design in two exciting flavors. plain and camouflaged See the bunker mod preview thread for details. [ July 25, 2003, 01:36 AM: Message edited by: AndrewTF ]
  16. I didn't see any camo nets. In fact, I read that the use of camo netting by the Germans was relatively rare, at least on static fortifications. Also, the distortion of the top texture is going to hamper any attempt to apply a regular pattern of any sort to the BMPs. If anyone wants to try to tackle it after I release these then be my guest.
  17. What's alternately fun and frustrating is trying to make the "trompe l'oeil" stuff look convincing from different angles. I always decide, for example, to make "fake 3D" stuff as viewed from straight on, as it will at least be consistent when the vehicle or figure is viewed from various angles. I used some tricky perspective stuff on the front of the bunker which looked really good in Photoshop but unfortunately not in the game, so I ended up just running the shadow flat across the front. Not "realistic" in artistic terms but better looking overall in the game.
  18. Tried the moss. Looked weird. One of the things I keep reminding myself is that all the bunkers I've been looking at at least 60 years old, so they've had plenty of time to weather, whereas the structures in the game would be relatively new and only a few years old at that. So I try to strike a balance between the spankin' new and old weathered looks.
  19. Some revised pillbox pix: The dividing lines between the concrete layers have been lightened, a stronger cast shadow has been added to the armor plate, as well as some more weathering. Here's the camo version:
