  1. My other thread about this had a weird title and didn't get a lot of attention from the modsluts, so I'm announcing my latest mod again! Hi-res camo uniforms for everyone's favorite overpriced hamsters with, like my Fallschirmjäger, multiple helmet textures. The pack also contains options for switching between camo and field grey trousers. Collect 'em all! I've sent them to Tom and Manx, although the e-mail to Manx got bounced back last night. I'll try to resend them when I get home from work this evening. Ok, I know the jackboots (as seen w/grey pants) were'nt that common by 1944, but they look cool and that's what matters! If enough grogs squawk I suppose I could make a pair of pants with gaiters and low boots.
  2. Yes, ALL German helmets will have the same textures. Of all the patterns included, the chickenwire still looks cool on all the German helmets, but looks kind of bizarre on the Gebirgsjäger caps!
  3. Although I'm not sure how much Copious Spare Time™ I may have coming up, I'm going to try to do a complete hi-res German uniform pack, including a field grey Waffen SS mod to complete this one. Then, maybe on to the Americans, as I think our boys need a better look. Until then it's fun to do the Germans as although they were on the wrong side they have really swell uniforms
  4. The Fallschirmjäger sets have FJ-specific hardware: bandoliers and cloth gas mask bags. I can make a Heer version with the gas mask can and K98 pouches on the belt, if you want.
  5. Modding is like eating potato chips--you can't just make one!!! Presenting the sequel to my Green Devil uniform pack: Everyone's favorite overpriced hamsters in glorious hi-res! This one's got options to switch from swell camo trousers to Feldgrau. The grey trousers have high jackboots, 'cause they look cool and also avoid that "action slacks" look that the long trousers sometimes give. I've included three helmet textures: grey, grey w/chickenwire (as seen in the FJ set), and with Eichenlaub camo covers to match the M41 smocks. I'm sending them to the usual suspects, Manx and Tom.
  6. Oh yeah--I also added some Fallschirmjäger-specific equipment like the ammo bandolier slung across the neck and the canvas gas mask bag in place of the standard metal canister.
  7. Yes, the uniforms are historic, in a generic kind of way . They are wearing splinter pattern B (or pattern A, I honestly can't remember at this point) jump smocks and feldgrau or tropical issue FJ trousers. The helmet textures were gathered from a variety of sources, and are all reasonably historically accurate. I thought that the stock CM FJ textures were a bit on the blue side. I always liked them but felt they looked a little funny, especially with all the great subdued mods out there. While surfing the net I ran across a photo of this late-war splinter B (A?) smock and decided to make a mod based on it. After a lot more research I eventually came up with this mod.
  8. Manx I'll have to send them to you individually. It appears that the BMP files were corrupted when I compressed them.
  9. * DOUBLE BUMP! * I sent the mod to Tom and Manx. Tom was having some problems with the files but I re-sent them and they should be resolved by now.
  10. Hey, a grey-green smock WOULD be cool I'll have to work on that one when I'm done with my current top-secret project(s). It should be pretty easy to cobble one together, especially since it doesn't have a camo pattern!
  11. Thanks for explaining, Warmaker. I guess the camo pattern on the leg may look a little strange, but if you look as a photo of a paratrooper jump smock, it is historically correct. Once you get used to the look you won't go back. I have to give a nod of appreciation to Panzerjager (Paul Klussmann), who used this technique to simulate the long paratrooper jump smock in his lo-res mod, which I downloaded from CM Outpost and used as a model for my mod.
  12. They're my attempt at Luftwaffe tropical issue tan trousers, as worn in Italy and other areas outside of Northern Europe. As I recall there's at least one Italian FJ scenario out there...
  13. While you're waiting for Maguas sure-to-be groovy Normandy buildings, I've whipped up a hi-res FJ uniform mod to tide you all over The mod pack includes options for not one, not two, not three, but FOUR--count 'em--FOUR different helmet textures: plain Feldgrau, Feldgrau with cool chickenwire covering, oversprayed tan, and field-applied tri-color camo. I also included a set of tropical-issue pants for use in balmier climes  I'm sending them to Tom and Manx, so pick them up there in a little while. Until then, some screenies--
  14. Thanks for talking me into doing the grey one. I think it's my favorite (along with the winter one) now.
  15. Ummm...well...perhaps that is one of the contributing factors in why Germany lost. Just think of the casualty rate among officers riding in those little rear-engined deathtraps with their bright seat covers. I bet they're really easy to see from a Hawker Typhoon moving at about 350 mph . Maybe they'll get a little darker in the next version (in progress).
  16. For Tom & MikeT: I'm having an e-mail problem at the moment, but I haven't forgotten you. I'll send the mod when I'm up and running again.
  17. Here's the latest iteration. If someone can find me pictures of an Afrika Korps Kübelwagen with desert tires, I suppose I could be talked into making one. Anyone want to host these things when they're ready? I'm going to try to have them for tomorrow, but I can't make any promises
  18. The 1944 models should be on the showroom floor within the week, soon as I fix the top and get rid of the green mud on the grey car's wheels. BTW, sorry about the double post.
  19. Allright, I slapped together a Panzergrau one. How's that for service ? I guess it wouldn't be TOO difficult to add a Balkankreuz Yeah, I figured my fellow modsluts would be hounding me for mods...if my Copious Spare Time permits you may see more!

  21. Grey? GREY?!?!? Boy, you people are demanding! I guess I could throw together a grey one. I learned a few new Photoshop tricks (hint: lots and lots of different layers) that make repainting these a snap, so watch this thread for updates.
  22. Wow, I didn't see that. I guess the MP-40 is THE accessory to have this season . Looks like one image didn't show up. Here is is: Ok, and another. I'm really happy with how the whitewashed one turned out: Oh, and these were done using Photoshop 5.5 and a Mac .
  23. I thought I'd post a few screenshots of my first mod, a hi-res kübelwagen . It still needs a few finishing touches (the convertible top still needs some work, as do the tires) but I think it looks pretty good. Any comments/advice/opinions are welcome. Meanwhile I'm continuing to add details. I've done a standard dunkelgelb, a winter, and a tricolor camo version. I spent WAY too much time on the interior--check out the authentic wooden slat floorboards and the dashboard. I did change the upholstery textures to kind of a tan color--as seen in existing kübels. The gun tractor half track shares this texture, so if anyone uses this mod its seats are going to look kind of funny.
