No. Just finished playing Sicherungs as the Germans and while my opponents 4 (!!!!) Il-2's occasionally strafed destroyed vehicles from either side, they tore up so much of my force that it was a cakewalk for him. It was quite a large map. After 15 years of playing CM I'm well aware that we could play it 10 times and we'd get 10 totally different results from the aircraft, but the people I pbem with all typically don't use aircraft. We usually change the weather to overcast to solve the problem, but neither of us thought about it or looked at our troops in the editor beforehand. C'est la vie. The only time I've ever enjoyed aircraft was in CMMC3, which was a large campaign with a bunch of players using CMAK to play out a series of battles in Tunisia. Twice, the Germans tried to hit my unit with Stukas, but I had around 30 US halftracks with .50 cals and I shot down every one of them before they could release ordinance. It was glorious.

In the OP he asks that you PM him. I doubt he checks this thread regularly. (At least I hope he doesn't as we should be doing what we can to minimize his effort since he spent all the time making the mods)

Aircraft are gamey. They get results a couple orders of magnitude above their real life effectiveness. If you absolutely, positively have to use aircraft, only use 1 per side max.

Suggestion for first multiplayer mission?

So as not to play the scenario's until you're both comfortable with multiplayer (then you can get max enjoyment out of each one) I would recommend a Quick Battle. A small or medium Meeting Engagement should be pretty even. -

I do the same and I back it all up on an external HD but anything can happen so I'm still in favor of updating his mod thread. Several of the modders do that. Simple is good.

I pre-ordered it the day that was available. But if I had won, I know some forum members that could really use having the game gifted to them (though I would have gotten to play in the AAR).

You'd want to give credit for the map if you made it available at the repository, etc., but QB maps work wonderfully for scenarios. -

Yep, I've seen the lunar surface impression a group of brewed up BMP-3's leaves, lol. In a QB I just played, a couple of MT-LB's had .50 cal penetrations in the front from M1A2's and they just reversed. They had time to abandon, but they didn't and shortly thereafter they went kablooie. That was the AI, so no idea what motivation level they were.

As we know, motivation above normal in AFV crews for BN, FI, and RT often yields some atypical behavior, whereas normal and below motivation tends to keep realism higher. Did you find the same thing to be true for BS, or are crews really more likely to stay in the vehicle when it's damaged or getting hit a lot, etc? Played some since I dl'ed yesterday but haven't seen nearly enough to have an opinion on it.
