As an armoured recon man I would never join the infantry. It was shocking to see hand to hand combat in a WW1 documentary where soldiers engaged each other with German (point) helmet, sticks with nails and pioneer shovel. I rather target infantry at long range and take the consequence of being brew up.
The Devils Adjudant (Michael Reynolds) disribes a situation where a 2x 90mm were used against Kampgruppe Peiper in Stoumont. They were from 143d Antiaircraft Battalion and redeployed to support 119th Infantry. This indicates they were not part of an TD unit who was present in the area as well (823d Tank Destroyer Battalion).
@Goodwood, please make some screen shots or video, or even a sketch will do. AI is a problem not only for BF but for all games. However mostly you bypass problems by giving the commands in a different way.

Germans always counter attacked as part of their doctrine. Out of 2 Germans 1 is reserve and can counter attack is a joke they say about the German soldiers.
So I would program a few German AI counter attacks.
1st of all well done!!!!
No, reinforcements can only done by time
Cole attacked with 3rd Bn H-Coy supported by mortars and some scattered squads from 3rd Bn. The Germans had initial MG teams and infantry in the area of the Farm.
Here is a nice link with additional info of the fight.

Fantastic work
Some remarks:
The battle for Carentan started with Dead Man's Corner at the start of the causeway. It would be nice to model that part too . I checked the canal near the Cole's farmhouse and it was less wide and less cultivated then you have modelled it at the moment imo. Check last photo.

MG ammo has mostly a mix of ball, ap and 1 tracer. This is needed to adjust the MG. Some tanks in ww2 used even the MG tracer to range in the main gun.
Beside that any rocket projectile like bazooka or schreck always have a tracer light.
Tracers are also used on tank ammo and AT gun ammo to adjust the gun. Mortars or other indirect weapons dont need tracers due the way they are used. They are ranged in like it happends in CMBN.
Maybe tracers were not on all weapons in ww2 but most of them could use it and therefore it is not pure gameplay.
Even normal rifles use tracers these days (i.e. to point a target for squad members)
