Well so far, you:
- have applauded a Russian direct attack on a U.S. military assets in international waters.  “Perfect soft kill” was your exact term, which is just wrong on a lotta levels…not perfect, sloppy because we have freakin camera footage…not soft, hard as it was very likely by kinetic impact and not EW jamming etc.
- Argued that is was within some sort of justifiable ROEs because the US is supporting Ukraine while it fights for it’s life.  It is not justified, at least until this war expands outside Ukrainian borders - hell we are tip toeing around hitting targets inside Russia but apparently international waters and airspace are the Wild West now.
- Offered that we re-write international legal norms as they relate to international waters…reasoning and logic TBD.
- Linked the current incident to another over Turkey in 2015 (unless you believe the Russian position because they have a good track record of being truthful in these matters).  And somehow are trying to make the current situation, again, acceptable.
- Made a huge leap between WW3 and a couple banks collapsing in the US.
- And linked it all back to “elites” because we all know they run the world through a Star Chamber near the earths core…ok, I made up that last part but it really wasn’t that far off-narrative.
But I will accept you are not in the “nut-camp”, however, when you decide to join us in the “grown-up, I am over first year philosophy and political science” camp please let us know.
 

After the fuel dump trick didn't do anything I imagine the Su-27 sidling up next to the drone like a Spitfire chasing a V-1, putting the missile rail on his wing tip into the prop on the back, and thus killing the bird.
The fuel thing reminded me of this story:
After returning from a Vietnam combat hop, I was briefing my plane captain on the reasons why Sunglass 691 had two holes in the engine compartment and what they contributed to the flight characteristics of the Skyhawk, when the "Bonnie Dick" (CVA-31 USS Bon Homme Richard) began a hard turn to starboard and we still hadn't completed landing the air wing. As I grabbed onto the boarding ladder to steady myself on the now 15 degree slope of the deck, a "Whale" (A-3 tanker) went roaring close overhead in a wave off. It was "The Red Baron" (Cdr. John Wunche) making a wave off after the duty Russian trawler crossed our path. He continued on line up, at about 100' altitude and just before arriving overhead of the trawler turned on all the fuel dumps the A-3 had for its impressive fuel load. As he roared over the trawler, the JP-4 was glistening off the whole trawler and several of their crewmen thought it prudent do depart the boat via a swan dive. Needless to say, the trawler left us alone for over a week before they tried to disrupt another landing sequence!

While I'm here, the Russian economy is literally dying. Due to skyrocketing prices and their reserve fund, they were able to weather the initial storm until Mobilization. But, with mobilization and the implementation of price caps, the RU economy became a sick man with no hope of recovery. Most likely forever.
I'll provide some notes on the health of the Russian economy soon.

I remember part of that footage from the start of the war.
Who knows what Oleksandr (and the other Su-25 pilot) did  manage to prevent by their sacrifice/efforts. Whatever it was, a show of defiance against the aggressor at the outbreak of war.
Outnumbered, outgunned,  whatever; he went for it all in. I guess occurrences like these (across all branches) made the difference in the early days. I don't really know what to say about such things but they impress a fellow human being.

Here is example how the post of one of many Russian losses can uncover whole story
 Major Vasiliy Muren'kiy (left photo, on right photo his brother, who was killed together with him), 11th separate engineer-sapper brigade, Southern military district. Was kileld on 24th Feb 2022 near Chaplynka, Kherson oblast.

Column of pontoons and vehcile with HE moved to Nova Kakhovka to establish bridge through the Dnieper if UKR forces damage the dam bridge. Also they had a task to blow a gate, which close canal of water supply to Crimea. Column was bombed and shelled with rockets by the pair of UKR Su-25. The truck with HE charges was hit and exploded, eliminating almost all column. Video with remains of this column was issued several days ago by Russian milblogger. In this attack at least 12 Russian servicemen were killed, about two dozens of different engineer vehciles were destroyed or damaged. During this attack UKR Su-25 was shot down by a missile. Pilot, lt.colonel, squadron commader Oleksandr Zhybrov, probably directed own falling plane down to enemy column and even had time to eject, but altitude was too low - he died.

Russian drone operator spotted UKR soldiers in the trench and asks either they have small arms only. Suddenly he spots one soldier has RPG-7 and exclaims "Granik! Granik! Granik!" (Rus. slang from "granatomyot" - grenade-launcher). He tries to target Russian tank at him, but tank shot somewhere forward and rolls along the trench, didn't spot UKR soldier. UKR soldier waited some time and shot at the back of turret. Enemy drone operator in desperation cries "Damn! He has RPG! He will shoot at your back!!! Bliad'...."

This is a myth.  Itcaught on in social media and other places, it's not true.  It's based on some flawed, rushed early pandemic report that was used to make extraordinary claims on flawed evidence.  This is similar to the flawed report that led to belief in hydroxochloroquine being a magic bullet against covid.  Everyone grabbed onto the early, flawed study and then never noticed or chose to ignore that the data didn't hold up under scrutiny.

As Carl Sagan said, the spirit of extraordinary claims requiring extraordinary evidence -- saying that doing constant damage to one's lungs makes them less vulnerable to a respiratory infection seems absurd and would require quite a bit of proof, one would think.  But sadly, as Twain said "a lie can go around the globe twice before the truth even gets its shoes on".

1 year of the war is passed. From the start of the invasion and to the huge count of air and missile strikes. One of my friends has been killed by wagner artillery in Bohorodichne village near Bakhumt. My father-in-law has been killed by storming the defensive enemy positions in the Kherson region 1st of October. I gave 3 of my salaries (all what I have)on the first day of the war on the military budget. Thanks to all of you, thanks for your help. Taking carry of our refugees, helping our soldiers to destroy enemy forces with AT weapons, artillery, APS, AFV, and Tanks, peoples who served in foreign legions. Thank you for giving billions of money to support our economy. Special thanks to battlefront for small support for me, when I asked about a discount, they gave me 2 games with all DLCs for free - I didn't expect this. Some of my relatives were in Kherson in occupation, and all high-value electronic and expensive things were looted from them by Russian forces. And now we don't fear rocket strikes (10 times they exploded 700-1000m from my house) we don't fear nuclear threat, we don't fear the second army in the world and you shouldnt. Sorry for we English would that what I want to say for all of you, I can tell you many things about the war but first i will try to improve my language knowlages.

Massive show of support just before one-year anniversary, Moscow must be on edge

For the non-Mil here (such as myself), these observations from a relative in the British Army:
The fella fighting was going through a mag every couple of seconds. They all need to be reloaded. The grens are shipped in two parts,  fuse and body and they have to be married almost immediately beforehand. The RPG warhead has to be fused, and married to the motor. The frightened bloke did well to keep at it. He came out to fire at one point, but fighting bloke told [him] to get back in.
There is enough work in that intensity to take half a section* out just maintaining the fire. In a platoon the Reserve is constantly rebombing the mags and sending them forward. That pit was held because of the sheer amount of suppressing fire that bloke laid down, and it was only possible with the support from the frightened guy.
[The Shooter] has been in that position for weeks, but I’m surprised he didn’t have a firing ledge cut into to get better visibility.
You’d wonder at the BMP crew. They just ate a RPG, and second one, and didn’t return fire into the position. Might have been too close to depress their cannon.
Yeah, milchat is laughing at ‘most engagements are at up to 300m’ yeah chew on 30m.... 
So the comments I've seen (not here) mocking the second guy are just sheer, stupid amateur ignorance. In a fight everyone plays a part and not everyone is a hero every time. Artillery explosion overpressure waves and constant combat (and the threat of combat) do awful things to the human brain.  The bravest man can be steadily reduced to a nervous cat with enough concussive impacts.
The "scared"  guy could just as easily be the hero next time.  Or not,  but who knows - unless you're in the fox hole and you're him or his shooter buddy. No one else knows. Any commentary beyond that is just talking uninformed ****e. 
 
*In the BA a Platoon is made of Sections. In the US they're called squads or teams (I believe? ).
