  1. And that means . . . ? "Keep your mouth shut?"
  2. If you play The Creek, make sure you play it against a HUMAN enemy. I played it against the A.I. and it didn't do so well. The map is excellent and the forces are cool.
  3. There was a great post somewhere's that was VERY helpfull regarding embarking/disembarking. Filled with handy tricks and whatnot. Since reading up and experimenting with it, I NEVER have difficulty embarking/disembarking my troops. In fact, I feel it is quite good/realistic. One of those tips is ALWAYS compare command delays of vehicle and emb/disembarking troops in order to gauge your timing. If you think you've got enough time to get aboard before the tank leaves, good. Now add 10 seconds pause to that vehicle. Also, when DISembarking troops, plot the FIRST waypoint right on the ground next to the vehicle, that way the troops FIRST order in the que will be "executable" even if the vehicle stops for just a short period of time. 5. I'd send ONE squad over on Assault. Leave the other two squads and your HQ to continue firing at the suppressed enemy. There MAY be another enemy squad or worse, still out of sight in them thar trees. I'd hate to have my entire platoon caught in the open.
  6. Should I click or should I go . . .? (Air guitar!)
  7. Thank you for all your great effort and contributions through the years, Keith! Gpig
  8. Ever heard of constructive criticism? That's my thought. Gpig P.S. Did you play the game? Or just look at the ground?
  9. But . . . what are you going to do when you lose? Hmmmmm? (be careful what you choose)
  10. You get more immediate pay-back with TCP/IP. Which can be nice. But the crunch-time between turns is just as long. And depending on your opponent, set-up times can be LONG. PBEM allows you to choose forces, set-up and plan your first moves at your leisure. TCP/IP has a constant clock going. You are strapped to your chair during a TCP/IP game. It's quite fun. But you can save the game at any time and quit (after agreeing to do so with your opponent) anytime. THen resume the game another night if you'd like. It's great for ANY type battle. Even operations. But the larger they are point-wise, the harder it's going to be to manage your turns. Especially if you've agreed to a time-limit between turns. Gpig
  11. That bottom one looks like a leopard I(?) Just like the Canadian Armed Forces had for a while. (Also, that rear grill is a dead giveaway.) Gpig
  12. Thank you. Thank you. and . . . (wait for it) Thank you.
  13. Yeah, here it is. Officers also is a wargame, no health bars and no other "Red alert's rts things".Huge, 20 km x 20km maps. I think it will be even more deep than CM with its "rpg system"."
  14. RPG = Righteously POW-tacular Grognard system Every game should have it. I thought that someone posted some screenies of Officers where the tanks had health bars. Hmmm . . . I'll have to go dig around in the GF. P.S. Seanachai, I know I'm s'posed to hate you and everything but I love your posts.
  15. Errr . . . TankCommander. Keep your nuts. But what about knees? Mine are startin' to go squeak. You may want to offer Seanachai your pituitary gland. Appears he's in the market for one.
  16. /70's TV sitcom music on/ WELCOME BACK . . . /70's TV sitcom music off/
  17. Hey, TC. As long as you're givin' those things away . . . Gpig
  18. When you target the BT does the LOS/LOF line turn black where it crosses the factory? Or does it remain blue? Sometimes, the LOS/LOF line is "blurry" as far as building lines are concerned. Buildings may not be exact, to the milimeter, LOS blockers. Also, I've had tanks shoot at each other while on either side of a small shack. They actually DID have LOS/LOF through the building. Not sure that helps, any. :-/ Gpig
  19. Just in case you missed this wee bone, Tom: Recent post by Steve of Battlefront, in the Wartgamer/Rexman "HE Effectiveness" thread.

  21. Yup. You pretty much covered your options with regard to "tac A.I. generated orders." I usually try to adjust the waypoint into some cover, if I can. Or delete the order if they are in cover and then give them a target to shoot at. But you pretty much summed up your options. And yes, it does depend on the situation. Welcome to the forum! Gpig
  22. oh boy oh boy oh boy oh boy oh boy Now how am I supposed to get any work done. I'm askin' yah! Gpig P.S. Thank you for sharing, everybody.
