  1. I'm maybe wrong about this, but it seems to me that in seconds 0:35 til 38 a Syrian soldier hits an US soldier right through a building wall without LOS, and at ~1:45, a US soldiers is shooting from inside a build through a wall, too. LOS and LOF are a very basic issue, not something that will be changed in a late BETA statium anymore. Same procedure as in the CM1x games??
  2. Are the complete scenarios informations stored in the PBEM files as it was the case in the CM1 games (AFAIK)? If yes, how much of the PBEM file is just static scenario information, and wouldn't it make more sense to leave them out of the PBEM file in this case? That both players are using the same scenario file can be proofen by a checksum relativ easily (I think). I'm not so much worried about a problem with the bandwith, but with emailservers. Emailboxes could be overloaded with just two or three files. Emailprogs like Outlook (Express) as well as antispam or antivirus programs can cause many problems with large files, too.
  3. You've obviously never seen "Full Metal Jacket" then! Seriously though, I agree that there should be a self-preservation instinct for the buddy. Heavy fire, he leaves the casualty. </font>
  4. I second Neskire's 1) and edgars' second sentence. In addition to Neskire's 2), wouldn't it be better to place the camera behind the selected unit!? I'm also missing the zoom-keys from CM. Even if we can zoom free, they would be very helpfull. Would be nice as well if we can adjust the scroll speed of the map. It's a little bit to fast for my taste.
  5. Crazy, what's the sense of all your writing? Do you think somebody will redesign the game egine to make your day? TOW is not CoH. CoH is a completly different piece of cake. You should better compare TOW with the old Close Comat games. Then you should compare it with another attempt to adopt the CC-gameplay with a 3d graphic, a game called Squad Assault from Matrix Games. Maybe you can still get a demo at their homepage. I guess Matrix games isn't ashamed of very much... When you did so, and your are still pissed off, well, don't buy this game, play CoH and be happy. Don't waste your time with requesting things that will likely not happen! I have expected that TOW will be some kind of modern CC. It is. I have something to do until CM:SF!
  6. After playing with training missions: - No problems running the game (Gefore 7900 GTO @ 1280x1024, AMD X2 4200+) - Graphics not up to date, but okay - I will need some days til I'm used to the camera. It's a bit different from CM. I'm missing (or haven't found yet) a 'quick jump' key to jump to a map location - Sounds okay, but the barking dog sucks. Do somebody know how I can shoot the dog? Won't go into the details so far. In short words, the game feels a bit like to good ole Close Combat in 3D
  7. Not everyone just YOU. </font>
  8. It sometimes seems to me that in the US propaganda everyone outside of the USA is a "fundamentalist terrorists" or at least very suspicious.
  9. Primary beings (Firefox user) can install the DownThemAll-Plugin. https://addons.mozilla.org/de/firefox/addon/201

    Gone Gold

I have to admit it's been a LOOOOOONG time since I've downloaded a game, but 2 gigs?!?! Surely you jest?! </font>
  11. No, thats wrong. If for example 10.000 CMBO-players (= 5 to 10% of the customers) are registered in this forum, 100.000 to 200.000 copies of the game has been sold.
  12. Nope, we have that in. Here is a picture of what happens when it hits its target</font>
  13. Moon, all the videos I have seen so far were completly unsharp when I looked them in full screen mode, and I guess FSAA wasn't turned on. Moon, can you confirm that the game is not really that unsharp, and FSAA is not locked out by a magic promming spell/curse?
  14. If I pre-order TOW, will it also be possible to purchase the mail version and get download version for free!?
  15. LOL, seems they are a little beyond plan!
  16. Warum meinst Du, dass sich dafür nur die deutschen Spieler interessieren sollten!? Und warum kaufst Du Dir die unvollendete russische Version, wenn die englische bald erscheint!? Sauerkraut!!
  17. Well, Moon said 'middle middle' of March. Since March has 31 days, this means 15 and a half day. Pre-order must start at high noon on 16th March! If we keep time zones in mind, we can give him a two day's grace. But I recomment to gather tar and feathers anyway. Just for the case. [ March 14, 2007, 12:35 PM: Message edited by: Scipio ]
  18. Well well, and how about some CMC kind of stuff in CMx2 (not necessarily in CM:SF already)!?
  19. Nice. I look forward to the map editor! Don't forget to open pre-order on Thursday!
  20. Does this means that units/casualties will not be moved from battle one to battle two, and the result of a battle will only set which battle will follow!?
  21. Since we will have a campaign in CM:SF - how about a campaign editor, or are campaigns in general editable? I guess there will nothing like CMC included in the initial release, but I wonder if this will be added later. To play on the operational level as well as on the tactical level would be a real great addition to the game...well, at least in my opinion.
