  1. Yes, well done! *polish Charles' jar & Madmatts head* *bow and scrape for the others*
  2. Freezed again, but after some hours of playing. I should mention that I had not changed the affinity this time.
  3. Since I start to became fond of the new engine and this damned freezing problem has been solved, I have found some things I would like to have added! 1.) The command tabs should be accessable direct by keys, for example F1 to F4. I find it a bit unfonfortable to change the tab with the mouse each time. It would be also helpfull if the single commands get own hotkeys, too. Since very different commands use all the same key, I often order the wrong things. That's a very critical problem in RT mode. The mouse should be free primary for the 3D window. It would also be very helpfull if all keys can be asigned manually. To be continued...
  4. Adjustable waypoints. That's something that really hurts! Mod-able sounds. The sounds are genrally good, but I really need to replace the music, espcially the on with the female background singer (I suspect it's Madmatt?)
  5. WEGO is still in. I was a WEGO fetishist all the time and have played my first battles that way in CMSF. Until I noticed that it takes out a lot of dynamic and fun, compared to real time; and I really hated all real time games til now...well, except Close Combat. If you don't have the time for a real time scenario, why don't you just use the save function!?
  6. I have tested this on my system and had no further problems so far, too. Just a side note, the Microsoft Hotfix seems to require the same language as your XP. Just do a search for the Hotfix KB896256 at (as for example) the German Microsoft site.
  7. I can't report teleporting units so far, but my game freezes, too, after some minutes! Asus A8N Premium AMD X2 4200+ XP Home SP2 2 GB RAm NVidia 7900GTO However, I set CPU affinity to CPU0 only and was able to complete the first training campaign mission without further lock-ups. As far as I know, the CPU optimizer is not installed on my system. So I dare to confirm that No-AMD-Optimzer + setting affinity to a single core is a good workaround.
  8. Be nice, I'm a paying customer ! Anyway, I thought it is something like this. But was is the sense of a language specific saved games folder, if the saved games can be exchanged without problem anyway!?
  9. My hardware: CPU: AMD X2 4200+ (dual-core) GPU: NVidia 7900 GTO (Driver: 162.18) OS : Windows XPHome SP2 1.) The game hangs up frequently after some turns during the order phase in WEGO mode. Sound can still be listened, but I can't do anything except to return to Windows with the ALT-TAB and enforce to close CMSF. BTW, what makes this problem really worse is that the Autosave function was removed, so all progress I made during the game is lost! Please restore the autosave function!!! Edit: it hangs also during the execution phase! 2.) I try to order artillery support as area target and draw the target circle: I can not set the size of the target zone if the spotter has no LOS to the current position of the mouse cursor. That doesn't makes sense. 3.) When I switch the language (for example from English to German) in the options screens, I loose all saved games that I have saved 'Englisch'. If I want to restore them, I must set the language to 'English' again and restart the game. 4.) I guess that's not a bug, thought I found it very annoying: when I watch the execution phase/movie the first time, I can't control it. No pause, no stop, no rewind. I also don't like that the movie is replayed automatically when I have watched for the first time. [ July 27, 2007, 10:50 PM: Message edited by: Scipio ]

  11. If I would have known that everybody gets a copy for free who writes a stupid review...
  12. I have waited 3 or 4 weeks for my preordered TOW hardcopy, so you can be happy if amazon has a delay of only one weeks. I would have been realy pissed without the download version! Taki, send me the money via paypal, and I preorder the game for you with my credit card for a small fee
  13. You did the question in reversed order... "Will be Vista able to run this game?" The fault is on the side of Microsoft... for his lack of backwards compatibility... and even if you are lucky and a game runs in Vista (many don't even run), there is a big problem with performance... to lose a 33% of performance in vista compared with XP should not surprise you. So... for a gaming platform, the best idea is to make a big partition for XP and any game that you want to play smoothly. Some computer vendors, will even exchange your license of Vista for another of XP without charge. (a great trade in my opinion). Vista will be ready for games may be in 2 or 3 years... and by the time, there will be another operating system of Microsoft... so you can just bypass Vista, like many bypassed Windows Millennium Edition (Me). Vista sucks even for companies... lots of software done specifically to work with you business... doesn't run anymore on Vista. Many companies are afraid to update, and keep his well working XP. </font>
  14. I'm still waiting for my notification email for the release of TOW.
  15. I would prefer Korea. Has been not been done very often (if ever!?). The different Arab-Israel wars would be my second favorite. Falkland would be an interesting thing, too, but I think there ain't much to get out of this theatre. Maybe it is better if BFC just produces the equipment, OOBs and landscapes and leave it to the people to build their wars
  16. Hi Scipio. Buildings can be destroyed wall by wall, floor by floor. As such, depending on the way the building was constructed, it is possible to see a building with a hole blown in the walls on the second and 4th floors, the roof on one half collapsed in whilst the other have of the building has collapsed down to the 3rd floor, that sort of thing. Damage decals is something we definately want to do, showing increasing damage to each wall of the buildings structure, but it hasnt made it in just yet. This is just visual though, the damage is tracked. Dan </font>
  17. Who is talking about 'a really good building model'? I just have to notice that there's no advance since CMx1; indeed I do have expected more than NO advance regarding the building damage model.
  18. I have to notice that the rockets doesn't cause any damage to the building (as it seems). I guess they should make some holes into them!? Well, even if that ain't true for relativ small rockets, I also remember the artillery video, where a building after a hit collapsed perfectly. Seems that we have no realistic damage model for buildings; still using 'ok', 'damaged light', 'damaged heavy' and 'kaputt/rubble'? That's very disappointing for me as a fan of city combat.
  19. BTW, will we have thermobaric warheads for the Kornet, too? [ July 05, 2007, 12:48 PM: Message edited by: Scipio ]
  20. The movement of the trees in the ATGM video looks very odd. Seems to me that no changes was made on that since the early beta video!?
  21. That's the point, at least one of them. The number of firing positions is limited by the number of windows and doors, if we should have ruins, there might by some extra holes. But if firing through walls is still permited, it would unrealistically influence the firepower of those who are in the house. On the other side, if LOS into a house ain't modeled, a house looses a lot of it's defensive value.
