  1. Before a WWI game I would prefer the Pacific theatre!!! That would be an excellent stage for CM. Nevertheless, I would also greet a WWI CM. A modern warfare CM is no must for me. [This message has been edited by Scipio (edited 10-24-2000).]
  2. Well, it seems that BTS won't make big changes about new units,buildings etc before CM2. I guess I have no problem with this, but PLEASEPLEASEPLEASE make it possible to play the CM1 scenarios with the later CM engines - maybe with a transfer tool!? It's not impossible!

I have several wishes (see below) and I could add more points, but I can already imagine the answer I will get from the beancounters: to expensive, will take to much time to create the graphics etcetc. How about this : Give the mob - us - the possibility to create the graphics, new units, 3D buildings and what ever you want. Select what you want to implement. CHANGE ONLY THE ENGINE to use the new features. All additional units/graphics could be posted for free download (like the mods at CombatHQ), while the customers still need to buy the original game CD. The world of wargamers would love you forever and a day! Some wishes: a)I'm missing several (only for example German) vehicles like: Aufklärer 38(t) Panzer IIIN PzIII (Flamethrower) StuH42 StuPz IV (150mm) PzJg III/IV (88mm) Well, I could continue endless, also with Allies vehicles & infantry. Also, why don't we have Command vehicles? b)Why should it be so difficult to create a 3d ruin? A square of broken walls would be enough and give a lot atmosphere to the map. c) I would also prefer to see more different handweapons. [This message has been edited by Scipio (edited 10-21-2000).]
  5. A point against modern battles is: CM doesn't (really) support air attacks - but air support is one of the most import things in modern warfare... I would prefer a WW1 - CM game.

  8. Boys, I guess you all missunderstood me. I want to see the casualities that my fire causes, represented by dead bodies. But I want to see them only in the action sequenze, and maybe in the following order phase! So I can say - yo, that squad has taken ## casualities, time to assault that position. One turn later they should be disapeared (except the hole squad is eleminated). I HAVE NO INTEREST IN A BATTLEFIELD FILLED UP WITH PICTURES OF CORPSE - because that would have really no influence on my tactics.
  9. Well, I searched and found the answers. Nevertheless - of course I can proof my own casualities very easy by using the units info display - I thought more on my opponents casualities. Well, BTS don't want dead-body graphics, so I guess we can spare us the rest of the discussion.
  10. Well, if there are so much arguments on both sides, the best would be to implement both and let the player select which kind of display he prefers...

Yo, I can understand that the squads only displayed with 2 - 3 men, but I would prefer if I could see all dead men, not only the one when the whole squad is eliminated - that would be only more static graphics like craters. No, not because I'm pervert - the doctors says I'm doing much better already . But it would improve the observation of infantery casualities VERY much more then then the small number in the units display!   12. (I'm talking about my experience with the demo, the damned package hasn't reached Germany til now) Well, I was only dreaming in my earlier post:). But this two things I would like to see: more levels in a building - I want to post my snipers in a bell tower or on a flat roof, for example. And I would prefer if buildings could be damaged, not completly blow to parts (also if it looks so nice). Fighting in ruins is very usual in war, I guess.

  15. What I want to see is: Buildings with inner structures like stairs, men using doors and windows to shoot out, tanks shooting holes into the walls etc etc. Okay, maybe I have to wait a little time until the computers are developed to run this
  16. In CM2 we plan on having an optional "Rarity" system that will radically alter people's purchasing habits if used. This will eliminate, if used, many of the current unit mixes that break the game away from reality.
  17. I understand that the procedure should avoid cheating by replaying - but how can someone replay with my proposal? Maybe you missunderstood me. Again: I watch the movie for turn 1, then give my orders for turn two, send the mail. My oppo watch the movie for turn 1, give his orders for turn 2, send me the file.   18. Why is the PBEM procedure so damn endless? I give orders, send email my opponent give orders, send I watch the movie, send my opponent watch the movie, send thats four mail for one turn. I would prefer this way: I place units and give my orders for turn 1, send My oppo. do the same, send. I watch the movie, give my orders, send My oppo. watch the movie, give orders, send.
