Hey thanks for the link. Extremely interesting to see what some of the ammo actually looked like especially compared to others.

From what I have seen, the tank performed very well in combat from the outset. The rush into production made it the first western allied tank with a 75mm gun and the armor was also adequate for the time against early PzIII and IV with the short 50mm and short 75mm guns. The biggest improvement was the HE shells that the M3's could fire against AT guns. The 2pdr had only AP shells which were useless against anti-tank guns. The main drawback was slower speed and higher maintenance needs as compared to other tanks. The article I am reading states "overall, they were thought to be as good or better than the panzer IV with armour protection bagainst the 50mm gun better than that of the crusader". I know Rommell had a few comments about the shock he recieved from the introduction of the Grant/Lee series. -------------------------------------------------- While the above is true it must also be pointed out that this tank was very tall and therefore over exposed to enemy guns/tanks. Also, and I believe this the main problem of the tank was that it didn't have a turret thereby the cannon couldn't move except for a very limited range really hurting it's abilities in tank against tank battles. Anyway, that's what I just picked up in reading "An Army At Dawn".

Well let me correct myself the 251/22 is also one that hasn't been modded yet. Course there are some 250's that haven't been but we're talking 251's.

There is one out there but I can't remember who did it and the bad news is I bet it's at the CM Database. Now the one that hasn't been done yet is the 251/10. This is the only original that hasn't been done as far as I know and I know.

Excellent job gautrek. This is really a very fine mod. The coloring is perfect. Just like what I would think it would look like in real life. And as usual your dust and mud detail is perfect but then again you are the master dust and mud guy. I mean that as a compliment in case it doesn't come across clearly. Also, it is one that was badly needed in my opinion so I for one am very pleased to have it. I really like the detail as the tank itself stands out extremely well. You gautrek are getting extremely good at this mod stuff my friend. Much appreciated.

Hey great improvement on the PzII. I don't know what you did to it but it sure looks better. Actually I was using another one but this improved one is now the one I'll be using. Did just the markings make that much difference?

What you say is correct but I am really looking forward to playing with those early tanks and equipment. I think with the early lower powered weapons ( tanks and guns ) the games should seem more balanced or maybe I should say the infantry I believe will play a bigger part since you won't have such powerful weapons. For some reason this appeals to me as I always find myself picking earlier period battles. To each their own as they say. Heck I score more hits on enemy HQ units with less results. Just a private joke just ignore it but yeah sometimes you got to wonder about super vehicles like that. Too bad about your squad getting it too though. I love it when stuff like that happens that you don't expect to see. Like the time one of my tanks took out an enemy tank but was blown up itself in the process. I just stared over and over at it. Pretty cool actually I thought.

Excellent job gartrek. That color is perfect and the detail is very clear and sharp. Top notch looking Churchill and I think it ranks right up there with Gordon's and his was outstanding. bu no red star I see. Do modders have something against them or are they just hard to put on? Personally I think they should be included on all mods or at least have the option to add them. If for nobody else but me.

Well, I almost use it entirely unless I need to advance or assault. I find the move command too dangerous unless of course there is no chance of encountering the enemy. Anybody differ with this. I am always open for suggestions.

I second some yellow HT's but not just winter ones but some non-winter yellow ones. And last time I looked there were several not modded even in gray let along yellow or camo'ed. Right?
