New mod in the pipeline. Big Pic Inside!
lcm1947 replied to AndrewTF's topic in Combat Mission Archive #4 (2002)
Very, very nice Andrew. The detail is just great. Overall, another outstanding mod under your belt. As Tanks a Lot would say - tanks a lot Andrew. -
Where oh where is the American 2 1/2 Truck?
lcm1947 replied to lcm1947's topic in Combat Mission Archive #4 (2002)
Thank you Tanks a Lot. I was actually looking for the other one but this will certainly do. Much, much improved over the orginal one. Again, thanks for your time in answering. -
Limited shelling by tanks?
lcm1947 replied to Boris Balaban's topic in Combat Mission Archive #4 (2002)
I know this was covered at one time or another but I can't remember what BTS said. Hopefully someone will answer that knows. I agree it is a waste of good ammo to keep shelling for the full minute when you don't want to. -
What happens to the Bmp's when replaced?
lcm1947 replied to lcm1947's topic in Combat Mission - Tech Support
Thank you gentlemen. Appreciate the replys and advice. -
I have been replacing a lot of these due to using the available and outstanding mods out there and a thought occurred to me. What actually happens to the orginal Bmp's when you override them.. Do they disappear, meaning that they aren't just moved somewhere else on the hard drive. I worry about space on my 20G. hard drive and was just worried about it. Would some kind soul let me know.

How does one backup the original BPM's ?
lcm1947 replied to lcm1947's topic in Combat Mission Archive #4 (2002)
Thanks Stoffel I appreciate the help. I understand everything you said except when you state: "Than create a new map in the cmbo directory on the C drive" . Do you mean create a new folder, the one I should name orginal Bmp? Is that what you are calling map a folder? Sorry for being so stupid but I just don't understand computers let alone this kind of stuff so I really do thank you for taking the time to help me. -
How does one backup the original BPM's ?
lcm1947 replied to lcm1947's topic in Combat Mission Archive #4 (2002)
Stoffel, that is kind of what I did but I just have the orginal Bmp folder that I created on my desktop instead of in the CMBO directory. It just won't let me overwrite any of the orignal Bmp's. I think it may be that I didn't backup, which I don't know how to do that, so I just copied the CD's Bmp folder into the new orginal CM Bmp folder that I made. Maybe you have to actually "backup" the Bmp folder. If this is correct then I guess my question is how do you backup the Bmp folder that's in the CD? -
I am having trouble getting mods to overwrite the orginal BPM's in the game. I know how to actually download the mod and then install them in the Bpm folder which is in the CMBO folder which then is suppose replace the orignal but I don't know how to actually back up the orignal Bpm folder. I thought you could simply copy the whole folder into a new folder I created on my desktop but that doesn't seem to work as I can't get any new mods to overwrite the orginal's. So I am assumeing I'm not doing something right. Any help would really be appreciated as I just got my replacement CD in and am having to start all over in picking the mods I want out. FYI: Broke my orginal CD and had to have the company send me a new one so is reason I'm having to start all over.

Commanding tank platoon movement in CMBB
lcm1947 replied to Apache's topic in Combat Mission Archive #4 (2002)
Well that will be a nice feature from CMBO. And from my understanding, somebody correct me if I'm wrong the turrerts will rotate independent of the hull. Now this is the feather I've been waiting for. It will look so so much more realistic than the whole tank having to turn to ingage a target. I am just dying to see the game. It's going to be super. -
Well HAPPY BIRTHDAY to you Ironchef4. Hope you have a great day. Boy, to be 20 again. Oh well. Enjoy!

ModSlut special: Small arms preview! Hot Pix Inside!!
lcm1947 replied to Juju's topic in Combat Mission Archive #4 (2002)
Truely beauiful work. Thank you. -
All I can say is WOW! Are all the vehicles in CMBB going to look this good? If so I don't believe it. This is great work!!!!!!!! And I say I like the wording on the front. Eye candy, yes but it sure makes the vehicle more attractive to me and I like attractive, no - I love attractive. Anyway, I'm impressed!

Scipio - Finally web gear. Very nice! Now I can start using your uniforms which I've wanted to from the first one you showed us. I'm personally just one of those that love eye candy and to me not having the web gear just - just, well kept me from using your mods. But now I can and will. Thank you ever so much. This will bring new life to the game as far as I'm concerned. That is if I ever get my replacement CD in and can start playing the game again. Anyway, thank you, thank you. I love your uniforms and now they come with web gear - how cool is that!

Question on Engineers in CMBO
lcm1947 replied to SgtSweatHog's topic in Combat Mission Archive #4 (2002)
Good question. I never thought about it myself but there may be a difference and will also be hoping for an answer. -
Breaking in a PBEMer, but how?
lcm1947 replied to The ol one eye.'s topic in Combat Mission Archive #4 (2002)
I don't know nothing about zipping or unzipping or this or that but I would like to make one suggestion however. Contact BTS and beg if you have to but see if they can delete your post. I am serious. That remark about dumb as a box of rocks will be seen one of these days and I can't imagine it being funny to him. Thought I'd just mention it. -
Dug-in tanks: why are they immobile ?
lcm1947 replied to dima's topic in Combat Mission Archive #4 (2002)
It may have something to do with time but I'm just guessing here. I personally don't see why this couldn't be corrected in CM2. From what I understand the Russia's did it a lot so hopefully it'll be included. -
Excellent looking trees. They almost look like pictures. Truely a very fine job. Thanks for your work and efforts!!

So, why is mixing nationalities gamey?!
lcm1947 replied to Herr Kruger's topic in Combat Mission Archive #4 (2002)
It wouldn't be gamey in my opinion as long as both players agreed before hand. So why not just find someone else that would like to do it and I can't see what it would hurt. My opinion. -
BTS PLEASE CHUCK ME A BONE!!!! GODDAM!
lcm1947 replied to Lordfluffers's topic in Combat Mission Archive #4 (2002)
If you get an answer let the rest of us know - HA! HA! -
Pretty cool looking tank. I sure wish we had them in CM but oh well. I'm surprised we didn't come up with something like that. Seems like a very needed AA vehicle to me. Thanks for the info on this vehicle Leta.
