Could someone confirm I'm understanding this right that the 34/76 was comparable to the 75mm Sherman and the 34/85 comp to the 76mm Sherman? If this is correct I'm confused. Now I'm strictly talking about the performance of the guns. So this means that the 85mm pretty much sucked? I mean if it was only just as good as the 76mm - something doesn't make sense. I don't really have a problem that the 76mm on the Russia tank wasn't that much better then the 75mm on the Sherman but it really surprises me that a gun that much better wouldn't just be that much better then a 76mm. Anybody actually know why it wasn't very good?

Pvt. Ryan. Is the GeForce 4 the latest one? The reason I ask is I am due an upgrade so was trying to decide what it should be. Maybe the video card I'm thinking to help run CM2. I could get more and faster hard drive but don't know if that would be better than getting better video card. What think if you have an opinion? Oh I have a 32 viper card presently but only 20 - 5200 rpm hard drive. Hope I said all that correctly.

I really don't know much about the actual weapons themselves but if you would be interested in the cartridges that were used this might interest you. This is from the book Cartridges Of The World, under military cartridges section by Frank C. Barnes. The site that MajorBooboo referred you to is an excellent site and I enjoyed it very much myself but it didn't exactly tell you how good of a cartridge the 7.62x54R was. So thinking you'd be interested in that here is what the above book states. Basically it is in the same class as the .30-06. A little less powerful but overall a fine cartridge for military purposes. Here follows the muzzle velocity and Muzzle energy for the 4 most common cartridges that I know of in WWII. Russian - 7.62x54R - MV - 2886 ME - 2727 American - .30.06 - MV - 2960 - ME - 2910 British - .303 British - MV - 2440 - ME - 2310 German - 7.9x57mm (8mm Mauser) MV -2880 -ME-2835

Well, the worst thing in the world happened. I broke my CD. I was going to just tough it out until CM2 comes out but heard from one of our older members that I could maybe get a replacement. Well, I tried contacting the sales dept using several different email addresses but can't seem to contact them. Any body know the actual email address that I should use? Appreciate any and all help.

Well I normally don't use a lot of jeeps but after seeing this I will. Truely excellent work - again. Thanks ever so much for your time and work. I for one really appreciate it and this is what I feel keeps this game going as well as the fact that it is the best game ever but the mods greatly improve the pleasure.

Thanks everyone for the advise and help I really do appreciate it. It seems that the pad will be the first thing I try ( least expensive ) plus just bought one earlier today, but if that doesn't work I'll just stop playing CM. No just kidding about that, but if that doens't work I'll try something else. Oh and by the way Pigg Dog - old fart yourself I'm only 53 years old, well at least for another 16 days. Again thanks to all and the mouse pad does seem to be helping already but think I will also take breaks every hour and do some exercises. No way can I let this stop me from playing the game.

Thanks Kevin. I think that answers my main question. Darn it! Oh well, maybe I'll just have to go visit the old Doc. and see what he thinks as far as the pain but maybe the wrist pad that Soddball mentioned might help. So I'm off to Best Buy to see about one. Thanks guys for the info and help.

Thanks aka_tom_w for the reply. I am somewhat aware of this problem and is the reason why my post. I damn sure am not giving up my CM playing so was hoping a hand controller would solve the problem if they would work with the game. Any advice on if these devices would work with the game. Again, appreciate the info and help.

Ok I just noticed that not all posts are these wide ones mentioned above so what gives? It must be just certain individuals causing this, right? And if I am correct is there something I can do to persuade everyone to not do this? Hope this isn't coming across wrong, just it's a pain in the rear and must be for everyone I'd think.

Sorry bout the subject title but it would have been as long as this message so here's my question. Why is it that all the posts are now wider then my forum screen allows? I have to use the left and right scroll button to read the posts and it's boring and slow. Is there something I can do to my computer or is everybody just doing this on purpose? And if so please stop it. Just kidding but it's really a pain in the behind to have to scroll every post like that. Anybody know how to correct or is it just tough stuff? I really hope somebody can help. Please don't make me go to my computer guy for help. He's expensive. Thanks in advance.

I'm not sure if anyone will know or can answer but thought I'd start my search here. I am starting to have wrist and arm pains when playing CM alot - which I do - just about every day for hours. Anyway, I was wondering if I could use one of the hand devices out there to remedy this somewhat painful feeling. In other words would the game function properly if one used one instead of the old mouse. Oh and by the way I actually use the Logitech ball mouse and thought that they were supposed to avoid this problem. Any help would be appreciated and if something else would work any ideas what would be best? Thanking in advance and BTS feel free to comment if you know anything.

I think russellmz hit it right on the head. Which would you prefer playing Western or Eastern against the German's? Now I will say this if you only can afford one game this year then I would suggest you wait until CM2 comes out provided you like the Eastern front as well as you would the Western. The reason I say this is from what I hear CM2 will be a little improved over CM due to them learning and changing somethings. Not that you wouldn't enjoy CM for months and months but with all the talk and excitment that is going to go on when CM2 comes out I personally wouldn't want to be playing the old game at that time. Now if you can afford both then I would buy CM now and enjoy it and then when CM2 comes out you can wait until all the bugs are out of it and buy then. Also by then the modders will have come out with all the great mods and the game will even be better. Either way you are in for more fun then you can imagine right now.
