  1. Thanks Ted for the headsup. Very nice by the way.
  2. Not that I am the one who asked the post's question but I did benefit from the answer so I would just like to say that it was awfully damn nice of you Sitzkrieg to go to that much trouble helping Volker. It's people like you that go out of your way to help people that make this forum so enjoyable and fun.
  3. I do believe you covered everything I could think of - plus some. I actually am thinking about getting CMMO myself but am just plain confused and overwhelmed by it. Glad to see I'm not the only one.
  4. I think Gordon's away so you may not get an answer but he may be back this week. Anyway, I want to hear the answer myself so kind of bumping this post. You are welcome.
  5. I was thinking that someone was remodding the background sounds in the game but can't remember who or when or I could just be having one of my moments. Anyone know anything about this?
  6. Yeah I meant MG34 and the book "Second World War Combat Weapons German" actually states 800 - 900 for the MG34 and MG34/41 not 600 rpm like I thought and stated. So yes it wasn't all that slow.
  7. Pretty neat! Thanks. That Panther sure seemed to be bogging down in the rear, didn't it? Heavy suckers.
  8. Greeting to you too Darthvader. I get a chuckle out of some of the names I see on this particular board. They seem so out of place. Not making fun of yours it just makes me smile sometimes seeing some of the names like yours. Not that it's not a fine one. I realize lcm1947 isn't the greatest in the world but too lazy to change it to something cool like some I see. Anyway, greeting and see you around.
  9. After checking I see that the MG42 does have a 6 man team so that explains that. Thanks for pointing that out CombinedArms and yes it was asked by me. As far as the rate of fire jgdppr the MG 32 according to the only book I have states 600 rpm. It also goes on to say that while the MG42 was certainly faster it was not as accurate or built as well as the MG32. But the MG42 Seems to do pretty well though, doesn't it. I wonder if the Allied troops ever used one after getting their hands on one of the MG32 or 42? I guess ammo would be a factor but sure would be nice while the ammo lasted.
  10. Yeah Welcome to the forum. I'm from Texas also, Austin actually. Where might you be living if you don't mind saying. If you do no big deal but welcome anyway and you are in for the treat of your life with this game. I know you will have many many years of fun.
  11. Good question. Yeah it sometimes seems that they are just wanting the enemy to hear them. Maybe the new background mod that's coming out will help.
  12. Well I for one will be waiting. Good news to me. I know maybe a lot of people don't use the Pershing all that much but I do and would sure enjoy it being improved. Do let us know when it's ready. And thanks even if you aren't doing it yourself - lazy.
  13. Thanks for the info everybody. Yes, I stated the question rather bad but the high rate of fire explains why it is a better MG. I knew the cartridge itself couldn't account for it being such a bad ass MG so figured it was the rate of fire but didn't have a clue what the others were. I see now that it is at least double so it's performance in the game makes a lot more sense.
  14. A mass bicycle charge would certainly not be a laughing matter. Sounds pretty darn serious to me. Can you imagine?
  15. It seems it's darn near impossible to take out this German MG42 and I'm trying to justify why the game makes this out to be so tough. I see that the rate of fire is 1,335 r.p.m. but that means nothing unless I have something to compare it to so I'm trying to find a site to get this kind of information on the M2 .50 Cal. MG. Any body know a good site? I would also like to compare it to the M919 & M1917 MG's.
  16. Oh no I wouldn't mind another asking I just can't do it myself you understand? I am actually dying to see another mod of the Pershing. Good Old Priest. I always did like that guy.
  17. Oh so it can be done you just have to know how to do it. I shall have to check into that with someone other then the guy that told me that you couldn't. Bone head people.
  18. Oh and Priest, if you do do one please please allow or put a star on it and spare tracks, yeah that would be great. Oh and could you hurry? Just kidding about the hurry part, well actually I do hope you hurry but I am far to polite to ask a modder to hurry. Good luck.
  19. http://web.archive.org/web/20010414105422/www.combat-missions.net/workshop/bmplist.htm Try this. I hope I did it right if not the bmp's are 3580 - 3589. I've been asking for a new mod for this tank for a long time and would love to see what you could do. Please keep us posted.
  20. If I am correct the CD is setup or programmed where you can't burn a copy. At least that's what a friend told me. Years ago you could but somehow that was stopped from being able to happen. I can certainly see why but not all is lost. I believe that you could contact the company and get a replacement CD if you broke yours or maybe even losting it. I imagine it would depend on the outfit you're dealing with but I believe that is correct.
  21. I'm getting way over my head here and may have it handed to me by someone but I'll just mention something that I personally feel. I love the game and will play it forever the way it is but that said I also appreciate change and improvements. I do however have a problem when every vehicle, tank, troop or whatever comes to a enemy sighting. I mean that's not real. Only the forces that would be needed to handle the threat should haul over there. So I was thinking what if maybe only those units within a certain range would response and then only in sufficient force to deal with the threat. Now I don't know if something like this could be programmed or not but that's what I feel would improve the game.
  22. I'm happy for you. Now pay attention in the future with that CD.
  23. One word - WOW!!!!! That is just plain awesome. Man you modders are getting just plain awesome. Thank you, thank you and thank you. You guys are great. Sincerely!
