  1. Did I mention 6 bottles of very good wine from South Africa as compensation for these "troubles," delivered to your door. If you live in a dry state, I'm happy to PayPal you extra monies just for the effort. [ November 21, 2002, 12:44 AM: Message edited by: WineCape ]
  2. My “International unverified PayPal address” dilemma: I have bought on ebay 2 new Motorola 2-way UHF radios, but the seller there only wants to freight to a verified address (PayPal) within the US. The seller is living in 2022 Denison St., Baltimore, MD, 21216. The seller though is happy if I Paypal a person (preferably living close to MD, but that doesn’t matter really, as he charges $15 via UPS Ground to anywhere in the USA) in the USA, whom in turn will PayPal the monies from his verified address account to the ebay seller. I will ask the receiver of the goods to freight the goods to me in South Africa. Naturally, I’ll PayPal all the item costs + the $15 ground freight to the receiver, as well as the on-farwarding costs/packaging to my address in Stellenbosch, South Africa via US Postal Services. Anyone on this kind forum willing to help out a CMBB friend? E-mail me at WineCape@global.co.za - I’m ready to pay the monies over within 24 hours via my PayPal account. Geez, sorry gentlemen, this sounds like some financial pyramid scheme! Full details will be provided via e-mail to a trustworthy applicant PS: I’ll also PayPal the receiver and extra amount for buying me (via online web stores that I’ll provide) a third radio (same model), all 3 radio’s to be freighted at the same time to me. Total US$ costs of 3 radios about $620-00. ($365-00 for the 2 ebay radios and $250 additional for going on a shopping spree with my money! Naturally, all and every cost incurred will be immediately re-imbursed by me via my PayPal account beforehand Sorry Matt, way off-topic, I know. However, I need these radio’s for my Dad’s XMAS hunting present, they are unobtainable here in South Africa, and I’m stuck and the only AMERICANS I know are on this helpful bulletin board... 5. Cpl. Carrot, Scan your e-mail. Let me know what you think, courtesy of some kind map folks here that have e-mailed me a suggestion or 10! I'm ripe for plucking as my confidence is shattered after both a CMBO( ) + CMBB assault of mine failed miserably... [ November 09, 2002, 05:44 AM: Message edited by: WineCape ]
  6. Maybe you haven't asked all your former CMBO opponents </font>
  7. Anyone have an idea where I can get medium sized pre-designed CMBB maps for some interesting CMBB match-ups (combined arms) on short notice for PBEM play? Naturally, none of those open flat steppe "magefters" that do not inspire your troops to start moving from their set-up zones... Oh, a CMBB PBEM anyone? Me playing Germans as I can't seem to think of the Russians as "allies" PS: It seems existing PBEM CMBO opponents of mine have a tendency to fade, most probably due to CMBB's release. Maybe I can keep CMBB PBEM opponents longer on the battlefield. 8. Abbott, I'm still using PBEM Helper (older version 1.1.193) with CMBO and it is the best thing since sliced bread. Have not upgraded yet to the CMBB version. The support for automatic file numbering and p/w entering and starting the game with the desired PBEM file is the best feature of this program. Plus it will file the older PBEM files being returned by your opponent automatically by creating its own subfolders in a specific folder. Some people have trouble with this handy e-mail program (especially with getting automatic password entering to work), but I'm a happy customer and have no such problems, as it works perfectly under Windows 98SE, especially when you have 15+ PBEM games going. Alas, I have not the time to engage in more than 1 PBEM game at a time of late. Fuerte, await your "stable" PBEM Helper (CMBB incarnation) in due course... 12. To my mind, there is one word that sums up the people at BFC/BTS and the creators of CMBO/CMBB: Integrity. Continue with your current path of game ®evolution in the CM series and you have a customer for life. 15. Michael, Have only seen your post now. Not that I'm aware of. Have to delve deeper in the tree, but if he is from the Karoo (Williston/Calvinia area) then the chance that he is family is 50% Regards, Charl Theron [ October 30, 2002, 07:16 AM: Message edited by: WineCape ]

  18. Just curious, How did BTS/BFC arrive at the blast value of 2116? Sincerely, Charl Theron [ August 23, 2003, 04:56 AM: Message edited by: WineCape ]
  19. Matt, yes, I can confirm that HQ's have moved from hide status to engagaging the enemy (squad), even though the troops that the HQ's is commanding is still in hide status and laying in one line (parallel) in relation to the targetted enemy. This has happened on several occasions playing against the AI, and I (1) Have not used the Arc command; (2) My troops were Veteran or better; (3) My troops were in woods/pines; (4) The HQ hasn't been spotted, or fired upon; (5) Distance to enemy ranging from 95m-145m when my HQ's moved from unhide to engage. Sincerely, Charl Theron [ October 27, 2002, 03:23 AM: Message edited by: WineCape ]

  22. I vote that the thread to be found here as the most single, most informative grog thread I've EVER read in 3 years on this forum!! What can I say, I like the Finns; no sledging, no name-calling, just plain, clear arguments backed up by evidence. MAGNIFICENT!
