Great.... I guess I won't have a life next weekend either. Well who needs a life when there are 13 scenario's to be played in CM.

I had plenty of suprise's in this one. I got to toast some troops as well. Just in case your unaware there is a revised version of this scenario out. It fix's where the reinforcements arrive.

If I recall there are 2 or 3 in there. Its possible they bcame inmobile in the snow. That happens in a game with snow. Did you enjoy the scenario anyway? It ranks in my top 10 favorites.

There is no way to skip day combat. You may skip night combat IF both sides are willing. Since this is a PBEM someone may have accidently hit yes to night combat and thought they hit no.

Green troops fire at the enemy much sooner than regular or veterans do. Troops that are hiding WILL fire when they feel threatened.They don't want to let the enemy get with in grenade distance, do you blame them for that. They will usually engage at 30 meters or so. If you want better ambush capabilities then issue an ambush command with yout leader and have your troops target that. Hide unfortunately doesn't work well with tanks in my experience.

Shouldn't this be in the scenario disscussion and not the tips? I have played it but don't want to spoil it for anyone.

Arty has its place on every battlefield. If the spotters are setup right you'll never see them. The best way to minimize loss's is to be in good cover and move quickly over open area's.When cover isn't possible you get massacred. Look at the Normandy invasion.Open beaches with MG's and mortars lashing down. Try giving your opponent a taste of arty and accept your loss's, because you will have some. PERIOD.

Lets get to the real question.... Has anyone ever played as the French??? Is it possible to win with them??? How many turns in CM would it take to conquer France when the early years comes out?

East Front 2, West Front, Rising Sun, Close Combats, Art of War, Steel Panthers. They are all good games, but NONE compare to Combat Mission. No game has the excitement or heartbreak as Combat Mission. None are as realistic or offer you as true view of combat ( but without real ammo ). From your 1st game you will have moments you will never forget in your gaming lives. No other game is as well supported by fans with Mods and scanario's. If fan support isn't saying something, then I don't know what is. BUY IT.... PERIOD..........

This has been mentioned, discussed, and argued on many threads.One of the patches address'd this and made the mantlet up to 200 mm at area's.

Once Across the Rhine was made with PBEM in mind. Give it a try.If you like it or hate it let me know.

Its amazing what a King Tiger can do.I played this scenario several times months ago from both perspectives, and it is a great one.One of my favorite post CM missions Wild Bill has done. It can be won Sparky, gang up and flank. If you get into a close range frontal conflict you will be made mince meat easily. Got any more good ones in the works WB ?

By being kicked back to the main menu, did you get to the setup screen then get dropped? I had that happen 3 times, then got dropped by my ISP. After I reconnected I played 2 full games will no problem, so I have to assume I had a bad connection despite not being booted by my ISP.

If you need an IP for TCP/IP don't worry. YOU DON'T NEED ONE. Once you start a game you are assigned an IP. Its that IP you give your opponent for the game.

The TCP\IP patch is pretty good. After a few games I am not disappointed. I went a perfect 2-0, so I may have over looked any problems with my joy in victory,hehehe Seriously, it is good, its a minute or 2 in-between turns,but I also have a slow connection of 26400.Even at that speed its worth playing and highly recommended.

JUST WHEN YOU THOUGHT IT WAS SAFE TO SLEEP AGAIN. I just played 2 full games of TCP/IP and its fantastic.Its amazing how fun and addictive it is. Its now 6:30am and I need to go grab an hour of sleep. Give it a try, you'll enjoy it. 2-0 at TCP/IP and will be 3-0 after a certain someone finish's a game with me.

It looks incredible. I can't wait till its posted. Keep up the GREAT work.

I'm not sure off hand. I am going to assume you unzipped them and placed them in the BMP directory right? You also need to use the correct version of the grids for the grass textures you use. If you have the high res grass from the MDMP-1 you need the hi res grid. If you don't have the hi or low res MDMP you need to get it.
