  1. Is there going to be a fix to this game stopping BUG.IT SUCKS IT REALY SUCKS
  2. It takes 3 sandbags deep to stop a 30-06 or 7.62 round. So with that as a refernce how much sand do you think it would take to stop a 75mm,or an 88mm with a mv of over 1000 meters per sec.?
  3. do these install self?do i have to turn that on ever time i want somethig new,or are they random and work all the time.
  4. If so lets get a game going "squirrel" If you do not know what I'm talking about you are just a cherry legged poge, maybe a sky shark devil in baggie pants.
  5. Is the game missing them or are there just an elite sqd. Readily will I display the intestinal fortitude required to fight on to the Ranger objective and complete the mission, though I be the lone survivor. last stanza of Ranger creed.
  6. I love the game want to play.So how do I get my wife from taking to much of game time with her shopping on line.Need quick fix,do you have any patchs that might help. All responses will be appreciated. Thank you .
  7. i'm in need of some thing that can spot for the Germens and allies.what works best
  8. Thank for the replys. One question.Does the CO have any value in the fact that he cordinates the efforts of of the LTs in the game,i.e. giving them some sort of bonus to there skills? -------------------------------------------- Every one want go to heaven.Nobody want dead! Screwface in "Marked for Death"
  9. In buying my Units i buy just platoons, even if i buy a comp. sized elememt.Do I lose something by doing this?Or am i saving points by not having a CO?
  10. <BLOCKQUOTE>quote:</font><HR>Originally posted by Banshee: Remember this is WW2? In WWI only thing that mattered was having a ton of MG's on line and a bunch of arty backing them up. There was absolutely no mobility and the battlefield was defined. Very different picture than WW2, and those MG's STILL had a bunch of infantry in the trenches alongside them for support. With the advent of mobile warfare the positions that the enemy was fighting from were much less prepared (some notable exceptions, the beach fortifications along the coast, the Siegfried Line, etc). The MG's were used to prevent mobility, and supress, hopefully kill, but in reality the artillery and the maneuvering units got a lot more kills than the MG's. Only in places like Normandy where the mobility was restriced were the MG's more killing machines than supression machines. Even then the artillery got 75% of the kills. If we look at DBRoe's situation that started the thread we can see he had 5 MG's (1919's) which he expected to stop a platoon of infantry. This MIGHT work, IF and only if the had a few hundred more meters between him and the enemy. But 120m's ,while it seems quite a distance, is not very far at all (so the distance can be closed very rapidly). Also look at the number of guns vs number of targets, 5 guns vs 35+ targets each firing back (some of which are LMG's as well btw). A much better tactic is to have your MG's have a screening force of infantry in front of it (even a squad does wonders). The MG's will fire from long range, attriting , suppressing the bad guys, until they get close and then the infantry would stop the ability of a close in rush. This would cause the offending party to have to maneuver more (still under MG fire), in order to suppress the position. MG's arent uber weapons (nothing in CM is) but when used properly they are amazingly powerful tools. I would rather have 1 MG covered by a SMG platoon instead of 5 MG's (same CM cost), if i was given the choice of holding a position. The longer the range the more effective MG's become (sounds incorrect dont it?). This is because the enemy units return fire and suppression factors are very low in comparison to and HMG at range. ---------------------------------------------------------- (Dbroe reply) Hey Banshee you got me wrong.I had the 5 mg in an support by fire with an INF. sqd with them. They where in an over watch poss. covering the flank of 2 sqd in a bld. What went down was a platoon came out of wood line ran 140 to 160 meters to bld where I had 2 sqds engaged in fight with other enemy sqds to front. So is platoon ran from A to B under hvy. fire at about 120 meters ave. and not ONE sqd was pinned or slowed. If that was the case with mg they would not use them today.I.ve been out about 100 or so live fires like clx's and just pop up ranges and never seen such lack of firepower. granted it was close but the sqd with would pick up slack.Plus guns did not come under fire.Thank you for the replies. <HR></BLOCKQUOTE>" i don't think you can drop us all fat ass!" 11. First off don't get me wrong,Ilove the game.Play it for,let just say to MUCH. But here is my problem MGs just don't live up to there real counter parts. For starts I had 5 1919's in a support by fire pos. and out come 3 German sqds about 120m away. easy work at short range, but it did not even pin them down.Plus I've had the same problem with the "feared" MG 42s. From my experience in a gun sqd in the army the mg just is not getting the grace that it should! Everybody want goto haven, nobody wants dead. screw face Mark for death [This message has been edited by Dbroe (edited 01-03-2001).]
  12. thank you PVT. Ryan. Now i'm burn down houses and sniping them when they come out.
  13. When i play on line my flame th. and sharpshooter start in set up with ammo, but when first move starts they are empty.and that sucks because i like sharpshooters.
  14. I would like to see civilians out on battle field.Plus civilian vehicles. I think it would be cool to see what bad spots would do for the game. Also for those guys that call down arty with out positive ID. What you all think!
  15. i find that snipers are a great way toslow down an advance that comes from a flank and that gives me time to comp. and over come. but some times i've had them start with no ammo
