Newbie specific section of board?
Pvt. Ryan replied to Galatine's topic in Combat Mission Archive #3 (2001)
God, this has been asked so many times before. Did you even do a search? Ask whatever you want, but read the manual first and browse through the forum. There is a FAQ on here somewhere that might answer many of your questions. Oh, and have fun! -
Your favorite vehicle in CM is?
Pvt. Ryan replied to Herr Kruger's topic in Combat Mission Archive #3 (2001)
I like to take a quick joy ride in a Jeep. Hop on and ride around at level one to cover the whole map quickly. Avoid the enemy. -

I knew Combat Mission could not be as good as I thought it was. Thank you for telling me how much it sucks. What a relief.

Is it possible that BTS will begin to develop the new engine after CM2 is done, but that CM3 will still be released with the current engine? BTS corporate HQ could order the R&D division to begin working on the new engine while another division continues with CM3 based on the current engine.

I believe Mark is used to designate a "version." Mark III would be a Panzer III, and a Mark IV would be a Panzer IV. Each completely different tank would have its own Mark, but variations of the same Mark would have a letter suffix as Mark IV G. I think it is a term more commonly used by the British, as this definintion isn't in my "American" dictionary. The British also redesignated the US Sherman model names with this system, such as the Sherman Mark II and the Sherman Mark III, etc. Correct me if I am right.

$45 is the cost to buy the game. While I am sure that more than 7,000 copies were sold, I am also sure that there are not 7,000 forum members. Some people register with more than one name, sometime with many names. Some are forced to re-register when the forum crashes. In addition, it is possible for people to register with the forum and never buy the game, but those people are weird. Maybe not as weird as the rest of us, though.

If anyone knew anything and was allowed to tell, we would have known about it already. Try a game of Bejeweled to keep you busy.

Michael, don't be so hard on the Beaver.

With Juju's fire and that wonderful smoke mod that someone did, all Shermans will eventually look nearly the same after a few turns. I appreciate all the mods. I use the ones I like and I don't use the ones I don't like. While I understand LGMB's desire for more authentic looking (weathered) mods, I don't expect the modders to cater to our every whim. Please have the new mods done by the weekend.

quote:
Originally posted by Grisha: "Nations included are the Soviet Union, Germany, Finland, Hungary, Italy, Romania, Poland, and Partisans." Charles Moylan's quote on which nationalities would be represented in CM2, from the GameSpot interview

I stand corrected.

The Italians will make their debut in CM3, unless someone makes a Mediterranean mod first.
-
I believe BTS has stated that the CM2 demo will not be released until the game is released.
