  1. I appreciate the difficulty in these missions, and I might even eke out a victory on mission 2 on my tenth attempt. What is so frustrating is how long it takes to quit the game and load a save each time I screw up. If I do a normal quit and load the game starts from the beginning of the scenario regardless of when I saved. I have to completely quit CMSF, restart, and then reload the save. It takes about five minutes, which is frustratingly long for as many times as I have to do it.
  2. We know from M*A*S*H that there is very hot weather and very cold weather in Korea.
  3. Maybe he has learned from that statement and doesn't want to give any estimates until he has a really good handle on the way things are going. My guess is that once NATO is out BFC can refocus on CMN and when they are far enough along they will announce the title and start a web page, similar to the state NATO is in now. I would then expect the game to go on sale two to three months after that. I expect that to happen some time in September with sales starting in December. If we still don't see more progress by then I will be disappointed (based on my own expectations), but not surprised.
  4. I am sure BFC wants Normandy out and generating revenue as much as we want to play it. The problem is that when they do give us a status update, their guidance is based on what their planning calendar tells them and does not account for any unforeseen delays. Some people take these estimates as a promised release date, while the rest of us take it with a grain of salt. I think a reasonable expectation for CMN is the end of 2010, though I'll gladly take it before that.
  5. This explains the delay of CMN.
  6. For CMBO, if I wanted a quick game on a relatively small map I played Quick Battles. If I wanted a long game on a large, well designed map I played scenarios or operations. From what we have heard, CMN will have the best of both since QBs will use pre-made maps with forces chosen by the player, plus the option to play scenarios and operations. I anticipate the CM community will design a plethora of custom maps for CMN.
  7. There are 5 sellers on eBay, and one used copy. You have options.
  8. I'm looking forward to things that miss a lot.
  9. Circle, square, trapezoid? Please be more specific!
  10. I was referring to the tanks in mission two.
  11. Come on, BFC, we don't really need graphics or sound effects in the initial game release either. They can be added in a patch later. Release the game now!
  12. I am having trouble with the second mission for several reasons. The TOWs miss every single time. The infantry refuse to fire their Javelins even though they have clear LOS. Artillery seems to be ineffective on the dug in ATGMs. I have been saving and reloading a lot, which is a pain because I keep getting an out of memory error, and when I do successfully reload, the game reloads from the start of the scenario regardless of which save I load from. I have to exit the program and relaunch to get it to load the proper save.
  13. The announced plan is that it will come after the other two, but you never know.
  14. Based on other scenarios he has designed, you will be reloading a lot.
  15. Keep a light coat of oil on the blades so they don't rust.
  16. They are already working on the terrain. I found a screen shot on the BFC server:
  17. Actually, you can figure it out with a simple formula: NATO release plus X days X = the number of days Normandy is released after NATO.
  18. There you have it... Normandy will be released on or before 7/1/10!
  19. CMC was being made by another company; BFC was to be the publisher.
