Will CMBB make CMBO obsolete?
Pvt. Ryan replied to Cybeq's topic in Combat Mission Archive #3 (2001)
This hasn't been discussed since yesterday. -

Bye-Bye CMBO(insert my tears)
Pvt. Ryan replied to Tread Head's topic in Combat Mission Archive #3 (2001)
CMBO will still work just as well after CMBB is released as it does now. There is no expiration date on CMBO of which I am aware. Actually, CMBO might get even better if any of the enhancements found in CMBB are made backwards compatible with CMBO through a patch. BTS hasn't promised us anything, but maybe they will do a patch if they have the time. If you like CMBO now, there is no reason you won't like it after CMBB is released. And since you aren't going to play CMBB you won't have to worry about any new features you might be missing out on because you won't even be aware of them. Time marches on, and so does BTS and Combat Mission. -
My CM disk is hosed...apparently.

OK, that's enough mushy stuff. Did you order the game? -
After upgrading to the newest Nvidia drivers for my GeForce 2 I had trouble with CMBO where upon launhing it would often minimize itself. When I would maximize it all I would see was a black screen and some garbled white text at the bottom of the screen. I could access the menu buttons if I clicked where I knew they were supposed to be and everything would be ok. This problem has not happened ever since I installed CMMOS. Maybe it was just a coincidence, but the problem went away completely. I wonder if CMMOS also prevents heart attacks?

That's great! I hope someone can host it. Maybe you can make some leaner versions that are more manageable? Perhaps you could put all of Fernando's Panthers in one pack and the rest of the Panthers in another. Or, just make the rule sets available and give us the filename extensions and we can rename the files ourselves without having to download the mods (if we already have them).

It appears the good doctor is from Italy. Battlefront has set up a distribution partnership or some such animal for sales in places outside the US. Store4War is here.

I can picture the order fillers at Amazon scratching their heads and thinking, "Who buys this stuff?"

What happened to the unnoficail FAQ???
Pvt. Ryan replied to LGMB's topic in Combat Mission Archive #3 (2001)
The search does work, you just have to limit the parameters. It was funny though, the search sucked so much energy out of my computer that one of the programs running in the background actually crashed. -

I did a search for FAQ in the subject line and only three results came up - the two FAQs and your query. -
I use FFOW, as I'm sure most everyone does unelss they are playtesting. Since I don't know how the new FOW will work in CM2, I can't say how I will use it. Many forum members have stated that they want as much FOW as possible, so hopefully the new options will appease them. I'm sure BTS will design something that is as realistic as possible given the limitations of the game engine.

Sure, send me a setup if you like. My post was a reference to another topic; I wasn't being serious.

Dad, Order the game ASAP and play a hotseat game with your son. The game is worth a hundred times its price. -Me Edit: Well, maybe not a hundred times, but everyone knows what I mean. [ 09-21-2001: Message edited by: Pvt. Ryan ] -

I've played about 80% of all the World War II scenarios ever created and the Germans always win. [ 09-21-2001: Message edited by: Pvt. Ryan ]

Sometimes the abandoned mortar doesn't appear until you get closer. The hop-skip-jump after an HE round hits usually is a crew leaving a knocked out/abandoned mortar.

There was a show about Jasper Maskelyne on the History Channel a couple of months ago. I couldn't remember his name, but the work he did and its results were amazing.

Why don't you close your eyes and get some sleep. You will feel much better after you have had some rest.
