  1. AT Guns can be tough but they are not impossible to kill, try using a good HE gun on them, the bigger the blast the better, arty works good too.
  2. Well I learned about CM1 from CGW so everyone who thinks sending info to a mag is a waste of time can stuff it.
  3. Oooo my favorite subject, there have been a bunch of threads on this and BTS is making changes in CM2 that should help with the running out of ammo problem, I think they are listed in the “Unofficial Official CM2 thread” or something like that. The current system sucks, I always run out of ammo.
  4. Skipper, I never heard that before, is that something that BTS said? I thought the CM Engine was designed around infantry only battles first with armor added later?
  5. Has to be armor in general, almost all quick battles have tanks of some kind but I will bet most infantry in WWII fought the majority of their battles without tank support.
  6. OK, here is what you do, this is a long and complex process so you have to be dedicated 1.Get the kid into the habit of going to bed early. 2.If the wife is not working you have to make her get a job, if she works overtime that is a bonus. 3.Fake a back injury or something similar so the wife has to do all the work around the house. 4.Get the wife pregnant as soon as possible. 5.And there you go, the kid is asleep by 8:00, the wife is so beat from being pregnant, working all day, taking care of the kid, and doing chores around the house that she will be asleep by 8:05 6.Go get on the computer and play CM until you pass out. Works for me, give it a try.
  7. Yea, plus I noticed another problem, when I buy them they always seem to die, when the person I am playing buys them my tanks always seem to die? BTS Please fix
  8. No, sounds cool, what's the name of the movie? The funnest part of the Lend Lease info is that we sent them our crappy torpedoes, Hee Hee Hee.
  9. I hate those things, they are very deadly and unusually hard to spot, I have played games where they fired for a whole turn before I could see them, I think something is a little off on the modeling of the back blast.
  10. No one mentioned the cool bagpipe mod you can get for the British.
  11. If you are the Axis in a combined arms battle what choice do you have? You have to buy support vehicles since your armor points are lower than the allies.
  12. As was said before the M1 Carbine was designed to replace the pistol for truck drivers and cooks, ect, it was not designed for front line combat. Now just because the front line troops decided to use it for a role it was not intended does not make it a bad weapon, if you try to use a hammer to take out a sparkplug does that mean the hammer is a bad tool? No, it means you are using the wrong tool for that job. I would much rather have a Carbine than a 45 any day, and yes I have fired both.
  13. I don't claim to know all the answers but the ammo system is very lacking IMHO, if infantry fire more than is realistic than why not make them fire less?
  14. I'm at work so I don't have any figures here but I think the recoilless rifles were very rare, i.e. most people probably never saw one. Anyone have any production figures handy?
  15. I have a question, it is not at all unusual to have a large part of my forces run out of ammo before a 30 turn game is over, was it common for infantry in real life to run out of ammo after 30 min? (Now I know they have not run out of ammo but are low on ammo, but basically as far as useful firepower goes they are out of ammo.) If this were a common problem in real life you would think there would be lots o stories about troops running out of ammo which I have not found. Maybe I suck at this game but this is a big problem for me unless I: A) Hide a Lot or Keep a large part of my forces in the rear so they have ammo at the end Neither of these options seems very realistic, how many company commanders said to their troops, I know 2nd platoon is getting killed up there but you stay here and save your ammo for later!!!! Come on. I just had one game where we decided to have a cease fire because the troops on both sides ran out of ammo and no one was shooting.
