  2. OK, one last time..... To create another scenario for the demo, it would have to contain the same units that the demo has. That is, AFV wise, Sherman 75s, Sherman 76s. Sherman 105s, StuGIIIGs, and Panther Gs. Same goes for infantry types and bunker types. Why?? Because the demo only has enough code for the two included scenarios to work. The scenaro files just use elements in the game code to make-up the scenario. Meaning that the code for the Panther is within the game code and all the scenario file does is to call for that model when needed. The units and textures are not saved within the scenario files. That's why they are so small. The beta CE file was only what ~50K?? ------------------ "The greatest risk...is not taking one."

  5. Hi guys, remember the thread on whether or not the M60 tank chase in San Diego if the hatch was locked or not?? Well, I have just been watching a police chase special on The Learning Channel and the last story that I just watched was about this story. Well, for a little background, one of the pursueing officers was a tanker in Desert Storm, so he was aware of how to deal with the situation. OK, so finally when the tank high-centered on the median wall, that officer jumped up on the tank with bolt cutters and was able to get the hatch open. The suspect turned out to be headed to a Memorial hospital to exercise an act of vengeance for two malpractice suits he had against it.   8. NO they (BTS) didn't delay it. The game is at the printing shop and will be released in one to two more weeks.   14. Black, not only that, but the Gold Demo only has enough code and features in it for it to work. Full version scenarios won't work with the Demo. The Demo only knows 2 kinds of Shermans, 1 kind of StuG and 1 kind of Panther. So what happens when you throw in a Tiger?? The Demo's gonna say, "Huh, what?"   16. 1000?? Probably a lot more, actually. At all the Gold Demo download sites there are well over 2000 download counts. Not every CM gamer is a member of this Forum, however.
  17. Well when I found the Beta demo back in January, I immediately called my buddy and told him about it. He wasn't sold on the idea just yet though. He liked the game, but just wasn't quite sold on the graphics, mainly the fire and smoke effects. But now since the Gold Demo is out and it runs on his machine well, he loves it and can't wait for it to come out. As for the AAR, I haven't kept up on the last 3 turns or so, but damn, how is Bil letting himself get an ass-kicking with two companies of reinforcements against Fionn's beat up troops??

  21. A v1.01 patch will be available to download the day of release to fix the bugs that were found after the Gold Demo. Including the Barbed Wired bug. This is mentioned by Charles in the thread "BTS, a definite bug found" concerning the barbed wire bug at http://www.battlefront.com/discuss/Forum1/HTML/005085.html Charles chimed-in in the middle of the thread and said, "Bug found, and fixed!   23. id Software's Virtual Rebel: A FPS Civil War game where you can assume the role of a soldier fighting for the North or South. Technology advancements include the improvement from Muskets to Sharps Rifles. Battle will rage all around you. Arms and legs will fly! Bayonette charges! Cavalry charges. Cannister shot. The whole works! Hey actually that don't sound like a bad idea for a massive on-line multiplayer game. Just think of it. Hundreds of people trying to line up in formations to march or fire at the enemy all the while under the command of one guy. Oh wait, that sounds like WWIIOnline.
  24. Why doesn't Habro just fess up and say they've created Soldiers at War 2? Instead of making a mockery of Squad Leader of which CM is actually the real deal, but better.
