1.
quote:
Originally posted by L.Tankersley: Does Sabot's email not support attachments?

Yes it does. After i rename my outgoing PBEM file i hit "Esc", go to my e-mail screen, type up a message / taunt and then attach the re-named file to the e-mail and send. ------------------ "The dead only know one thing - it is better to be alive"
 2. Greetings all, The reason i posted this topic is because a troll that goes by the username "Sabot" has decided to poke our little hornets nest and i'm afraid that some of us might mistake him for me. Allow me to state this as clearly as possible. I am not that individual. I understand we don't have the same usernames, but i have been referred to in the past as "Sabot" and i could easily be mistaken for the troll by some of the Newbies. Let me say it again, I am not that person. You will never see a flame post from me, especially here. ------------------ "The dead only know one thing - it is better to be alive"
 3. Hello John, Has any of the advice here helped? e-mail me at work if you can, i'm curious to know. Here is my work address: SCastillo@vitalpharma.com BTW, i noticed that CDIC suggested zipping the incoming file. Did you recieve my zip file? Any luck? ------------------ "The dead only know one thing - it is better to be alive" [This message has been edited by Black Sabot (edited 06-16-2000).]
 4. Kurtz, An extra 500 cool points if you can be more specific.
 5.
quote:
Originally posted by ColumbusOHGamer: Was that "Platoon"? COG

No, but right war. I'm looking for the person who said it.
 6. 1000 cool points -----> NNJ Double or nothing, guess who said my previous sig: "I do like to see the arms and legs fly"
 7. 1000 cool points to the first one that can correctly guess what movie my Sig came from. ------------------ "The dead only know one thing - it is better to be alive"
 8. Apart from info gained during the scenario briefing, you should be able to play a dbl blind match. Of couse, you have to assume your opponent didn't cheat (start your side just to get a look at your forces), but that would ruin his game more than yours. ------------------ "I do like to see the arms and legs fly"
 9. If you're cool with a turn a day then i'll be happy to open a can of Whoop-ass, just for you Check my profile to get my e-mail address, then let me know which game / side you want to die in, and i'll send you a set-up later on this evening ------------------ "I do like to see the arms and legs fly"
 10. If my work computer didn't have %*#@$! Windows NT guess what i'd be doing at work ------------------ "I do like to see the arms and legs fly"
 11.
quote:
Originally posted by Rollstoy: I, personally, do not want to have SPOILER written all over the board! I mean if you do not want to be "spoiled", just do not read the board - it is all up to you! Regards, Thomm

True, to a certain extent, but what about the person who has a graphics problem and needs advice, or is looking for a PBEM opponent. It's all too common to have spoiler info deep inside a thread. I remember reading a thread that started with something like "Help, my graphics suck" and 4 posts later another one had "well, my computer is so powerful, the Panther almost looks real", and just like that, dozens of blind matches (mine included) were ruined I suggest to reserve a select few scenarios for blind matches with some friends and then just disappear off this board. It might not be fun, but abstinence is the only way to be sure you won't get screwed ------------------ "I do like to see the arms and legs fly"
 12. Another option to consider, this one deals specifically with Spoiler info buried deep within an otherwise harmless thread. When such info is found without the warning, we could e-mail the first person on the thread and have them edit their post to include "Warning, spoiler info inside this thread" ------------------ "I do like to see the arms and legs fly"
 13. IMHO, The placement of arty spotters atop or near the top of hill 216 is way too obvious. The first time i fired up VoT as the Amis i moved them immediatly. During set-up, take the time to try out different positions off of hill 216. I look for positions at lower elevations but with good LOS to important terrain features. I also hide my FOs for the first few turns, then sneak them into position once the enemy has revealed it's Hvy weapons. The enemy will usually be too occupied with my general advance to notice them. Bottom line: There is no point in having the sweeping panoramic view when there's no one alive on the hill to enjoy it ------------------ "I do like to see the arms and legs fly"
 14. Exile, Take a deep breath and relax, friend. ------------------ "I do like to see the arms and legs fly"
 15.
quote:
Originally posted by Freyland: VOT SPOILER (as if!) I had my entire platoon of engineers running over the hill and wall into the nearest large building.

And thats exactly where I left our current PBEM game, so i'm looking forward to resuming where we left off. BTW, Shug promised to lend me his 150 IG so i wouldn't continue that flanking move if i were you ------------------ "I do like to see the arms and legs fly"
