I am Canadian. But I live in San Diego, California. Why? 1) Much better weather. 2) Much lower taxes. (Specially when me and my wife both started to work as engineers) Healt insurance? Paid by my company. Armed? You bet ya. As soon as I got to San Diego and listen to their "one murder a day" news reports I got 9mm. Never wanted to own gun in Canada. I really loved living in Canada. But in US I can make way more money. If I would be sick and did have a usefull degree I would rather live in Canada. As for US/Canada - let them both live in peace. US citizens remember you are safe in Canada. Pamela Anderson and Tom Cruise are Canadians... Armed Canadian.

Here is a cool (but undoable?) idea. Why not unify Panzer Campaigns: Normandy '44 with CM. Areas for battles would be selected based on PanzCamp moved but fought in CM. Since resolution of PanzCamp is 1 KM it seems doable. (But transfering results from CM to PanzCamp would be a huge problem...) See thats what I would like Fionn to do for meta-campain. (well something similar) Description of Panzer Campaigns Normandy '44 can be found on: http://www.cdmag.com/Home/ [This message has been edited by killmore (edited 04-14-2000).]

Lets close this thread ASAP to keep the tradition alive.

In this situation you probably need to get much closer to the tiger. Hellcats shells are not effective on tiger over 1000 meters. But for PanzerIV it will not be a problem.

118 mm at 100 meters? That good enought to kill Panter if it got close enought! Thats much better then I thought!

It probably worked well on PUMA and HTs...

I never thought they made tank so small! The British outfitted the 37mm guns with an extruder adapter (squeeze-bore) that reduced the projectile from 37mm to 30mm increasing velocity to 4000 ft/sec from 2700 ft/sec. I wonder what it could penetrate... http://pwp.starnetinc.com/croberts/m22.htm

Soon to be Allied commander sounds off...

Finally someone mentioned SWOTL! I loved that game. Specially ability to end war early (like 1 march 1945) I had strategy on big and small scale. And it was reasonable easy and fun at the same time. Not a unflyable sim of today... And not EAW where you always meet 20 enemy planes! The planes you met depended on number and type of squadrons still operational. -
Eastern Front Campaign for CM?
killmore replied to T-34\85's topic in Combat Mission Archive #2 (2000)
The real war was on eastern front. Most of german units fought on eastern front. But it is not popular with a lot gamers because they don't have much understanding/info about it. East front turns a lot of them off. US education does not encourages learning about it. (Just like communist east european education was not teaching about west front) -
Ok now that CM is close to release time to start thinking about CM2. How can I become beta tester for CM2?

My knowledge comes from the movie that was made in Poland. The movie was supposed to be based very strictly on facts. (I saw it many years ago in the 80s - so my memory may be somewhat off). This is what I believe the movie was claiming: In 1939 ENIGMA machine was sent to German embassy in Poland. I am not sure exactly how but Polish Counter Inteligence got its hands on it. When Germany requested the return of the machine the Polish just claimed they never had it. Germany soon after changed the codes so only one message was decoded. After German attack the Enigma decoding team has escaped to England with most of their equipment intact. This way britain got its first ENIGMA machine.

Eastern Front Campaign for CM?
killmore replied to T-34\85's topic in Combat Mission Archive #2 (2000)
Why should it really take a year? Unless they are doing some major engine modifications. I would buy all of CMs if they woulf be spaced by at least 3 months. Mediterrenian will be probably least interesting for me. East front the most interesting -
New King Tiger Data--Fionn, it'll blow your mind

The most interesting is that Russian 57mm AT is better then 76mm AT. -

This is also a very good link. It shows gun penetrations at different distances. http://www.history.enjoy.ru/library/weapons6.html -

killmore replied to MG Mannschft's topic in Combat Mission Archive #2 (2000)
By the way first ENIGMA decodes were done in 1939 by Polish inteligence. They managed to obtain "misplaced" enigma machine. When germany attacked they took all of the experts and equipment and ended up in UK. -

75mm vs 57mm - which is better for killing tanks?
killmore replied to killmore's topic in Combat Mission Archive #2 (2000)
I was interested in general. But I guess it really matters only for Alllies. Germans did not have a need for heavy AT weapons on Western front. So I see that 57mm is better then 75mm for allies. What about StuG 75mm vs German 57 AT gun? -
We entered new age. Now every day someone will post a question: When do I get Gold demo?
