  1. Any one knows what the CM box will look like? What would you like to see on it? Or is it still a simple plastic bag? [This message has been edited by killmore (edited 02-23-2000).]
  2. I did not see too many reviewers complaining about graphics so far...
  3. In your opinion: Does BTS really need to keep improving graphics or just release the game with current graphics ASAP. (Assuming there are no bugs like crushes, AI bugs). I think that further graphics improvements can wait for CM2. Sure better fires etc... would be nice but are not necessary in CM1. What's your opinion?
  4. To me East front is the most intresting off all. Why? Because of variety of equipment. In early war Germans had problems with KVs and T-34s. In mid-war SU had problems with killing Tigers. In the late war equipment became more balanced. Also this is where most of the wermacht force was. Waves of Tanks? - It does not need to be so in CM because the battles can be designed by YOU. You have all of the war equipment here from early to the late war. Italy, Desert - these have limited equipment (in years) Pacific? - I don't think CM engine is well suited for Jungle fighting (at this time).
  5. I believe I know of a couple: More than 8 MB RAM on graphic card. Is 16 enough? More then 64MB RAM. CPU better than P-II-300. Sorry - I am waiting for CM and getting bored...
  6. You are right - don't count days/hours etc ! (I had to count hours for one software project once too!) Just give us an idea what you are doing - THANKS !!!!
  7. Steve can you please tell us things like: "Last week we worked 3 days on the manual and for 2 days we worked on 3D firing lines..." It will give us a feel as to what you guys are doing and how much we/CM can benefit from your current work. [This message has been edited by killmore (edited 02-11-2000).]
  8. One the Gold demo will be released the number of downloaders will be so large that I have a feeling that it will cause the BTS server to go down... BTS are you going to distribute Gold demo to coule of sites except your own?
  9. Where and when is E3? Is it in LA? In this case I will travel there..
  10. I have a book which gives exact dates/message numbers and info of ULTRA intercepts which detail German attack. Basically it says - "What do you mean we got no ULTRA intercepts? Here they are! Thats how you can find them..."
  11. I have this problem on PII-450 not AMD!
  12. I somewhat/partially disagree about nr 17. Most of the were severely outdated (like aircobra) they would be useless after 1942.
  13. From the CG Gamer site. By Scott Udell. Also Some info about Talonsoft. Robert Waters, and Tim Kipp all left TalonSoft, as a group, in January. Anyone who's followed computer wargaming in the last four years or so knows that this mass departure rips the core out of TalonSoft's in-house wargaming talent. The five landed at nearby BreakAway Games, developers of Sid Meier's Antietam. The rumor that the five would be working on a Computer Squad Leader with BreakAway is, according to BreakAway head Doug Whatley, not true (although understandable, as BreakAway's Rifle Platoon is a game with a similar scale and setting). Whatley does say, though, that, they are negotiating with Hasbro on other wargames, particularly some of the Avalon Hill titles they'd be interested in developing. Hasbro has come to agreements with outside boardgame developers regarding Avalon Hill titles, so perhaps there's hope for the computer side as well. One of the group tells me it's really a good thing, hopefully for them and for gamers. Fans of traditional TalonSoft wargames probably don't have a lot to look forward to, however. Computer Games Magazine editor Denny Atkin spoke with TalonSoft's Jim Rose about the future of wargames and TalonSoft. "We long term see the wargame market going full 3D," Rose said. My response is "perhaps," although I can only see this happening in tactical games (admittedly the currently popular scale). Note, too, that TalonSoft has removed any reference to wargames from its web site, instead categorizing its existing wargame lineup as either strategy games or simulations (several queries to TalonSoft reps about this have, as yet, gone unanswered).
  14. I would love to watch AI vs AI battle!
  15. Assuming the tank is hit from artilery barage (not AT gun!) what would be smallest caliber to kill a panter? Definitly not 81mm. Is 100mm enough? [This message has been edited by killmore (edited 02-01-2000).]
  16. 240 mm artilery strike - Can that kill tanks? I am ignorant in that respect. What is the lowest artilery strike that can kill panter? Sorry if someone asked this question before
  17. Fionn if you meant your preview then my question is: Where are the "prices" for the units? I saw only a list of units... I assume you cannot just buy absolutely anything for the same "price"
  18. I believe that CM will have unit requisition/purchase screen. (Correct me if I am wrong). Can madmatt show us picture of that?
  19. Thats a controversial subject. Be careful How about operation where you are suppose to slaughter as many cows/sheep as possible during one turn? (ala Warcraft?) Before you start flaming me - This is a joke! By the way are there any cows in CM?
