  1. I need to add that it took a lot of last minute enginering to get Charles's dismembered head to fit on the body during the entire time the video was shot. It really wanted to go back into its nice safe nutrient tank. It doesn't like the light so much... Madmatt
  2. That was a reference made on my chat system to the 1.03 patch for Battlefield:1942, not CMBB. Its all about context people. Madmatt
  3. Latest word is that we should be back in stock and shipping before Friday the 14th (Valentines day!). Madmatt
  4. A very nice review has just been posted over at SG Online. I have told them that the webnlinks at the end of the review are broke, hopefully they will get that fixed. Another slight Faux Paux is that one screenshot seems to show some winter mods in play. Oh well. Check it out! http://www.strategy-gaming.com/reviews/combat_mission_2/index.shtml Madmatt
  5. With what version did you encounter this? I *think* thats its still possible for this to occur in 1.01 but I am pretty sure Charles finally tracked this down in 1.02 which will be out in the near future. I will run some tests just to be sure though. Madmatt
  6. Umm, damn, talk about a quandry. On one hand I don't want the forum to start pandering porn, but god all mighty, I am only human.... Okay, I have to close this thread down and issue a warning to not post stuff like that any more. We do have minors here... Now then, if you want to slip my email account some stuff like that...well these things do happen.... Madmatt
  7. Well, I played through the first battle and into the second with no crash but I am also using the forthcoming 1.02 version of CMBB. Best to just wait and see how it plays with that once its released. Madmatt [ January 27, 2003, 02:17 PM: Message edited by: Madmatt ]
  8. No, CMHQ is run by ME, not Battlefront. Battlefront is hosted on a Battlefront owned server but thats where the official relationship begins and ends. Do not confuse my personal work (CMHQ) with my professional career (Battlefront). The only person on this planet that knows the future of CMHQ is me, and I havent yet decided whats going to happen but I got some stuff I am looking into. For the time being its not going anywhere and the server issue reported above was just a glitch that has since been fixed. Madmatt [ January 26, 2003, 11:51 AM: Message edited by: Madmatt ]
  9. Do you have a copy of a save file which shows this? If so, please send it to me at matt@battlefront.com Madmatt
  10. I will be releasing some 1.02 info here shortly, but for the time being here is a small bone to gnaw on. I can say that there are 7 new models and 10 older models that have been updated. In order to patch to 1.02 you MUST have already patched to 1.01 beforehand. Will the patch be ready by the end of the month (6 days)? Hmmm, I wouldn't count on it as we need to coordinate with the file mirrors and with CDV still. Madmatt
  11. As said above, CMBO is a finished product, no further updates or patches for it will be made. We will at some point return to the Western Front (WWII) era, the same which is covered in CMBO, but it is not certain at what point that will be. Madmatt
  12. As you may have noticed, the forum was offline most of yesterday. It is now (at least for the time being) back up and is now running the latest version of UBB. Some new features include a new searchable forum member directory (accessed above on the right have side of the screen), much faster forum searches as well as a new REPORT THIS THREAD option at the bottom. You can use that link to report any threads to the admins so we can check out a potential problem (ala a spam attack or loser with a potty mouth). As with any upgrade there are bound to be some *issues* that crop up so just hang tight and we will get this all working in no time. Madmatt
  13. On who's system does it say the file is for the wrong version? Are you zipping the file up before email transmissions (recommended)?. Madmatt
  14. Sorry guys, while your topic itself was innocent and I understand that you meant no harm, it is a topic which we do not allow on our forums, mainly how to circumvent the copy protection of the game. If you wish to discuss such practices you will need to do so elsewhere or via email. Thanks! Madmatt
  15. I dont know what to tell you Mord, I got plenty of guys yelling when I play. Madmatt
  16. The posters ship rolled up in a special tube. It would cost the same to place a new order for a book as to add it to your old order because of how shipping is calculated for orders with Posters. Just go ahead and place a new order for the book. Actually, you will save a buck by ordering the book seperately. Madmatt [ January 21, 2003, 05:26 PM: Message edited by: Madmatt ]
  17. Something sounds wrong as CMBB has over 12 times more sounds of all types than CMBO. I know, I made them all. You should be hearing firing commands, guys spotting enemy units, and guys screaming as they take hits. Do you hear the sounds of the bullets zipping by and also impacting into the terrain? It is possible that for some reason your sound card is only playing back a limited amount of sound channels. CMBB does check the capability of your sound card when its luanched and sets the max amount of channels that it will use at this point. I would suggest looking to see if any new drivers are available for your sound card. The different versions Euro/US should have no impact on this at all. 18. Many of you are already aware of the incredible work that John Smith VIII has done with the black and white WWII Tank posters that are sold here. We are now proud to offer three more tank prints which are in color. Color Tank Poster Webpage
  19. CMHQ is still around but with the level of commitements I have with Battlefront its not so easy to post updates. Also, since CMBB came out I really wanted to turn the focus of CMHQ towards CMMOS supported mods and eventually phase out support for CMBO. Is it time for CMHQ to fade into the shadows? Perhaps. There are plenty of excellent sites out there that more than support the CM communities thirst for mods and support info. Years ago when I took the helm at CMHQ, most people had never heard of Battlefront or Combat Mission. Now, with dozens of awards to our names and products and with strong sales worldwide that is no longer such an issue. I like to think that for a brief time CMHQ shouted out where there was no voice and helped to make CM succeed. As to the future, that is still undecided but we still have some goodies that are being put together for you all. So don't call us dead just yet, we are just...resting... 20. THe files have been removed and El-Cid has retired from the forum, I assume, because of transpired after his initial post. I am locking this thread up. Madmatt
  21. Which video drivers specifically are you running? I recommend either the 30.82 or 30.87 series for stability and performance. The newer drivers still seem a little buggy. Also go ahead and reinstall DX or go ahead and install DX9. Madmatt
  22. Nice poll, but we are not adding a new forum. Case closed. If anything, I want to REDUCE the amount of forums we currently have. Madmatt
  23. Does this also happen if you Alt-Tab or just when you use Cntrl-Esc or use the Windows Key? Madmatt
