  1. Ricochet, my history is exactly like yours (although judging from your member number I probably came out of lurking before you). The Alpha AAR was very tense to read. I was on the edge of my seat everyday looking for a new installment.
  2. News came across the wire earlier today that Peter was in NYC. Plans are already in the works to meet up. I would prefer to meet in NYC but those pussies Hiram and Peng are pushing for Philly. If any of you other limp wristed peace lovin bleeding heart liberals want any say in his destiny let me know. I guess the up side to Philly is if we went to O'Neals you could buy us beers online.
  3. Am I missing something with those pictures? When big explosions happen I alwys see those begining of a mushroom cloud things. I know don't use any explosion mods or anything ..that's just the way big booms look.
  4. Heyzuse..Seanaunpronounceables sigs are now to long for me o bother reading. MrSpanker has read my email disparaging him as Peng like slow PBEMer and still hsn't sent the file back.
  5. Have you lds settled on place? If it's the Elbow room let me know so I can send a round or 2.
  6. Just an idea guys...the is a place in London called the Elbow room. It has the webcam like the bar nea m in Philly. From this site we could buy you guys beers from the states and watch the whole happen online...just and idea..for all I know the Elbow roomsucks.
  7. I think Peter is working in Mid-town on 5th Ave so your meeting place would be fairly good for him. The Philly crew probably won't be able to make that gig. We are currently in negotiations with Doug Beman about a Sunday early afternoon thing in Philly. I hope Peter can make that one. Peter is spending some time on the west coast too. How funny would it be if h attended several of these things across the US during his stay. Talk about being welcomed to a country.
  8. The moving back real fast could be one of a couple of things. It the HT saw right away it was targeted, it may have done the emergency run away kinda move. I do not think here is a delay with that. My understanding of the built in delay is that some portion of the delay is for the sending and receiving movements orders. Not such order are needed when you are running for your life. The other reasoncould be that the HT was veteran/crack or elite. I have seen delays on these of less than 5 seconds.
  9. Hey Joe Shaw...check this out.....http://inq.philly.com/content/inquirer/2001/10/01/sports/LYON01.htm
  10. Sunday brunch with the CM junkies....I like that. I know social venues in the City of Brotherly Love very well. There are about 40 bars and rsturnts within 4 blocks of where I am typing this. Te first place that would pop into my pointy head is O'Neals. Not my main hangout by anymeans and certainly not a "nice" place BUT anyone who wanted to watch the get together could view it on the Internet AND buy us beers if they want. And if we do a Sunday afternoon we can catch some football and the Europe folks can tune in. Just an idea. I don't mean to plan your gig.
  11. If you would consider Philly I am pretty sure we can get Peng, Hiram, myself and if the timing is right we are going to have a visitor from across the pond in our area soon.
  12. If I remember correctly the reason so many German tanks are initially identified as Tigers is because most Allied troops as soon as they would glimpse or hear a tank they would think "Tiger."
  13. JOE SHAW!!!! I have finally found a reason to hate you properly. Your precious Cowgirls are going down hard tonight and I will be there to witness it first hand in what should be the official stadium of the cesspool...Veterans Stadium, Philadelphia, Pa. A true cesspool of a place. A place that threw snowballs at Santa Clause. At place that booed the home team when they were winning a game 32-3 one time. A very smelly place.
  14. The Vicar is right. The stress of going into battle knowing that not only do you lose all the units that are lost in battle but failure to acomplish your objective could effect many many more people than just your ego. And Toad there is something I forgot to tell you in my long winded email..the battles are not designed to be balanced. If you send a battallion to an area that the other sends a company into then somebody is out numbered.
  15. Thanks Kestrl. aving never had anyone quit a game on me I assume it would be the same message.
  16. I've never had anyone completely bail out on me in a TCP/IP game but while reading these posts it occured to me that maybe he lost his Internet connection. This used to happen a lot with me when playing dial-up. I always had an AIM or some such instant messae device so we could go right back in. If you met through the opponant finder and did not have any instant message action going he might not have been able to get back in. Did you use the "autosave" and tryto reset it up in case he was trying to get back in? Just a thought.
  17. MrsSpkr, check out the PBEM helper thread. I will not go on about numbering files again today (that doesn't mean I won't sometime soon) but one of the reasons most people give me for numbering files is to keep track of whose turn it is. So it boggles my pea brain that someone uses a PBEM helper that requires you to number turns.....Maybe it's just me that thinks the world has gone to hell in hand basket..but I don't think so.
  18. Fuerte, I am playing a guy now who uses a PBEM helper..I don't know if he uses yours. He tells me if I don't number turns then he can't use his PBEM helper. Is this true with yours?
  19. How many beers did Lawyerboy buy? Just curious how many told him what a great player he is.
  20. THEY ROCK!!!!!!!!!!!! If anyone was ever wondering what Aberdeen looked like you have shown them....hee hee...I am having so much fun with these. They download very quickly. [ 09-28-2001: Message edited by: Elvis ]
