  1. There are many ways to play CM. Yesterday I played it the best way possible. Here is my list of ways to play CM from worst to best(understnd none are bad): Against the AI PBEM Hotseat TCP/IP and the best way to play..... TCP/IP via direct link. Peng was over my home helping to move some furniture yesterday. He brought along his laptop and his magic wire....laying TCP/IP in the same room is unbelievable. The taunting takes on a whole new level. And when you are haring him PC and reaction to a vehicle blowing up or a building. What a riot. I won of course because I am currently unbeatable.
  2. Since that coward Lawyer is too ashamed to post this himself....Lorak let the record show: ELVIS - WINNER!!!!!!!! lawyer-loser (by surrender) Of course when he lost the first place he went is the first place everyone who gets crushed by me goes "it wasn't a balanced game" or "I only got 15 Panthers ..how am I supposed to win with just that." Perhaps the next game you play will be "more balanced" although if it is against me then I doubt it. I am in my unbeatable zone again.
  3. The following people would be dead if they could send files in a timely manner: Lawyer, JD, Lawyer, Lorak, Lawyer, Hiram, Lawyer, Stuka, Lawyer and Phillies Phan.
  4. I don't know how well your idea would work either. If you have a platoon that is engaged in combat with an enemy platoon you should be able to control that platoon with no delay or misinformation. Without being able to do that I don't know if it is a game I would have a lot of interest in. I understand the abstraction of being able to see all exposed enemy units and I don't have a problem with it. I try not to think of CM as a game where I am an all seeing commander. Instead I try to think of it as commanding for each level. Squad, Platoon, Company,Battalion ect.....And at different times in a game assuming different roles. I on't do this in a dungeon and dragons way but that is how I rationalize seeing the all exposed units.
  5. Whatever Peter...piss off now. I am feeling like I am back in a zone again. I may have something to do with my involvement with CMMC. It has sharpened my focus again. Because of that I am once again unbeatable. Peng has fallen more times than I care to list anymore, Lawyerboy is on the wrong end of an ass kickin in a "winning against all odds" type of scenario that he seems to be saying he is under maned with his 15-20 Panthers almost complete lack of armor...He's right..he is undermaned because he is playing me. JD...I haven't seen a fil from you in ages..I believe you have it and you were the one going away for a few days. I know I wasn't. Just send the surrender file and be done with it. Hiram has all the time in the world to post here with his silly Phillie Phan name but no time (or stomach) to return turns. Lorak my love has just drug out a game we were in the middle of that is a real pisser and the only one I won't care about ifI lose. Stuka set me up with French. Of course they are blowing themselves up Stuka..they're French for Christsake. You will still lose so sit back and watch the master. This is like men playing with boys (sit down bauhaus).
  6. I almost forgot...Lorak let the record show that my winning ways contiued on Saturday night in a fun TCP/IP with Peng. After several connection problems we managed to finish the first game of our ouble header (sit down bauhaus). Elvis - Victor Peng - "Down on his luck"
  7. TCP/IP is a whole different game. It brings CM to the level that I believe it was designed for.
  8. When it is your turn to "plot" a PBEM turn after plotting "save" the game...then when you go to play the TCP/IP game open the "saved" game (NOT the PBEM file) and you will be prompted toselect between PBEM, Hotseat and TCP/IP. Select TCP/IP and you are off. Things to rememeber you can only save a PBEM game when you are in the plot phase. If all you have is a movie file you can't save it so you either have to wait to get te file back or have your opponant do it. The saved game file (in case you don't know this already) will be found with the scenarios not in the PBEM folder. So you open it like when you start a scenario or QB ..just select the saved game.
  9. Yeah D.G....you are doing the tatic ith the least finesse. I haven't played that scenario in a while (and it is included in the final CD) but a more methodical approach might help to get your score up. I'll tell you something I will do that might be of help. Send me a PBEM set up file for it. am sure that I still have the demo on my hard drive (heck I still have te beta demo on my hard drive) and make me the Americans. I can probably show you a thing or two. I don't know if I will have the patience toplay the game out to its completion but we should be able to get enough done so you will have an idea of what I'm not finding the words to say. Plus once play play another human th game will go to entirely different level for you. If you think it's hard to play the AI and get a great score wait till you ply someone else.
  10. Philadelphia, Pa. USA The city of botherly love and the birthplace of our nation. Seems like a lot of guys from Stockholm does't it? If you guys ever get together for a party I want to be there.
  11. Detroit Guy, Mad Matt was a poster/beta tester regular guy who was hired a few months back by BigTime Software. From what I understand one of his functions is to work on this website. The site has looked like this since before there was an Internet and it is just fine for my purposes. For all we know Matt may have been working on a new site design and be ready to unveil it upon his return. And Hoopenfaust 101 with your B.A. are you saying you could care less and are about to try? Or did you mean to say that you couldn't care less? (sorry just one of my pet peeves like when people say "mute" point and stuff like that)
  12. The expression we use here is "gamey bastard"....As in "That gamey bastard Peng bought 6 Super Pershings and a battalion of Polish conscript infanty and 20 British piat teams." Buying the game will be the bet $45 you ever spent.
  13. Detroit Guy, all the units in the game ARE historical. The comments you may be seeing about things non historical are the combinations of units people use sometimes. Most people do purchase units that are historicaly correct but it is possible to get combinations that may not have occured in real life. The units themelves are historical though.
  14. I like my martinis exactly how MarkIV described except instead of gin I like to use Wild Turkey 101. And instead of vermouth I like to use nothing or show a bottle of sweet vermouth to the glass.
  15. I have a very small almost unwinable one. It is VERY difficult to win. Email me if you want it.
  16. Stuka, you are probably correct about the von Sham thing. My brain currently too fried from lack of sleep to think of a good game. If you return from work and there is nothing in you mailbox from me then set something up yourself.
  17. Stuka, I knocked you around with the beta demo and I'm happy to do it again. Morse, you too. Both of you send set up files. And my dance card is once again full and as aways it is full of male dancers.
  18. OK..the slate is now clear for two additional PBEM games. I would prefer to play jshandorf as I feel he is the only one left in th pool who han't been smacked around by me. And I would also like to try Y2K out. Time is precious for me right now so choosing a game is not a real option for me now. Hell set up phase will tax my time. But anyone who has wanted their ass handed to them by me can feel free to send a set up. Here is your chance to play a real pro folks...not some cut rate piker.
  19. I actually went on a Friday going from DC to an afternoon in Baltimore and stopping through Aberdeen at about 6:30pm....Still plenty of light but that's why it was closed.
