  1. A cmb file goes in your “saved game” (or scenario) folder and the txt file would go in your PBEM folder. (what cmb stands for exactly I’m not sure but cmb are scenario’s and cmc are operations) If you’re the Germans, Treeburst will probably start the game choosing the Axis side and entering the password that you are to use and then save the game sending the saved game cmb file to you. (This way you couldn’t inadvertently choose the Allies see what they have, close the game, restart, and choose the Axis.) You’ll open the saved game choosing the PBEM option do your setup, press go, and mail the txt file to the Allies. I’m sure in the email you receive there will be both the general briefing (if there is one)and the Axis briefing either attached to or in the body of the message. 2. LoL Thumpre my arch nemisis, destiny calls once again! (man, what are the odds) Well all I have to say is: Tourney 1, Section1, Rules!
  3. TB, Could you give us an estimation of the size and length of the scenarios. Thanx
  4. The tress look great too In “T26 advance” is that a birch tree with the white bark? Nice detail. Do these pics take place in a certain part of the Soviet Union? And the low shrubs in “T26 dead”, excellent. With everything else mentioned I’m really catching the CMBB fever.
  5. OK In “Gotta Get Up” did anybody as the Allied player stay and try and fight it out? All I did as soon as the game started was bug out down the road. I took my platoon on the right flank and ran straight for the exit road. I loaded up MG’s and squads in the halftracks and took the Sherman and moved as quickly as possible up the road. I had a feeling the Germans would cut me off so I ran a jeep near the back edge on the road and sure enough it discovered the Germans back there. When I got to where the road entered the woods I quickly formed a line of battle and just pushed up the road on both sides. I also sent the halftracks slowly up the road also where a couple were hit by fausts. I succeeded in getting out most of my troops a few halftracks and the Sherman. I left behind at the bridge the 60mm mortars and a flamethrower in ambush. The hero of the day though was the crew of the 40mm. It took out what I think is a Lynx and a Tiger leaving them burning on the bridge.
  6. Just a quick thought as I read your last post TB. Now I am for random draw but….. If it is possible to have a CMBO tourney using small, fast scenarios you could use it as a way to seed the players for the CMBB tourney. Just another option of course (as if there aren’t enough). Kind of like the time trials for the pole position in racing. I say small and fast (20 turns or less) mainly because I don’t think some of us would want to be in a CMBO tournament when CMBB comes out.
  7. One of things I enjoy about playing in tournaments is talking to other players from all over the globe about the last move, the scenario, the game, what’s going on and what’s life like in their part of the world. If I didn’t know who I was playing it would almost feel like a game against the AI, very impersonal. I’d prefer not to have a triple blind.
  8. Being new to this thread please bare with me…. What exactly is the requirement to be an Uber player? Is it a veteran of several tournaments and finishing at the top?
  9. TB, I’d like to play in any CMBB tournament that you’ll be setting up if that’s possible. [ April 21, 2002, 09:36 AM: Message edited by: Ricochet ]
  10. Well I must say that the overall ranking isn’t quite fair. After all I had to fight in Group 2 and as everybody knows Group 2 were the meanest, roughest, toughest, fightin’est SOB’s in all the European theater. So using my formula we all placed in the top 5 overall.
  11. As the Germans (with green troops) I had thought the Allies were on both sides of the river like I was. I figured it would just be a task holding the one bridge closest to me. Not knowing on whose side the imbalance lay (I thought it would be on his side since I didn’t feel all that strong) I set up a defense position around the 1st bridge closest to me. By the time I realized he was only on one side, it was to late to move up. He had placed guns in the top floors on the other side of the river and I kept getting caught in the open around the Church, My green troops quickly ran back to where they started. I moved my FO up on the right in a second story that had a LOS to the high ground on the other side of the river, the Allied right, and blunted his assault there. That helped immensely. 12. I ran up to a sexton with my flampanzer, fried it, started to back up and got hit from the side. This was tough. I raced one of my MkIV’s around the corner and started down toward the bridge but as I reached the corer I was targeted by a Sherman, that Sherman targets me through one multi-story building than another before it fired. The shot went completely through one of the multi-story stone buildings and hit me in the side. How the…did that happen! Next one of my green Stugs was in ambush behind a house at the intersection on the Allied right that leads down to the river. All of a sudden it goes immobile while it was just sitting in the road! Ok I thought he still has to come past my ambush marker on the road to make a left and head for the river. Well his Sherman moves right into the ambush marker and stops! My unbuttoned Stug doesn’t even see it! The Sherman after a few seconds of just sitting there, spots the Stug and starts to turn it’s turret toward the Stug. I’m yelling SHOOT! SHOOT! but to no avail. The turret finishes it’s turn and pow one dead Stug. Arrgh, I hate green troops.
  13. Economy of Force: LoL, and I thought I got my butt whupped.. What happened A1Steaks? Thumpre, I guess I did put that FO in the right spot alright. Gotta Get Up: LoL again, looks like I’m champ of getting up and bugging out. Run away! Run away! The Aftermath: Not much happened in this scenario and it looks like it paid off for me, tied with Massattack and 2 points behind the Commissar. Enough is Enough: Looks like it wasn’t enough for Thumpre. Good job Alex! Meeting of the Devils: At least I took out the German Armored Car with the 50cal jeep. That was a one fun minute. (Hey Alex, did you get my email with the new scenario setup?)
