  1. Of course I have it. I'm one of the CMSF beta testers (which I think means I may be lynched by the more rabid Gollum like 'we hatessssss it my preciuosssssss, we hateeesssssss it' crowd).
  2. No it's not. Von Clausewitz defined Military Strategy as: CMx2 is a TACTICAL game.
  3. Then again, there was no earlier version of CM to compare with when CMBO was released, so everything about it was completely new to us. One big 'discussion/argument' I can recall with a subsequent CM release however was with the HE 'shock wave' animation that was changed between CMBO and CMBB. Some players preferred the CMBO version, others the CMBB version, and discussions would get quite passionate as a result.
  4. Yep you have to equip your infantry with the javelin and then dismount them to use it. And don't forget to grab the javelin launcher as well (because I did once )
  5. Err that's in your honest opinion you mean. I don't want you speaking on my behalf. I've had no problem playing the bigger scenarios in Elite Real Time, and over the term of the beta test I've come to prefer this mode of game play. And I am someone who detests RTS and avoid them like the plague. But really it's different strokes for different blokes.
  6. Actually, that's some of the code from the next release they thought they'd trial in this release : Combat Mission Super Heroes!
  7. And the Vets who were on the beta test thought the infantry speed was .....just right.
  8. Sounds yummy. It's fun retrieving this little piece of wisdom from the second page!
  9. Yeh never underestimate the handiness of smoke 'nades in MOUT
  10. Yep same here. Mouse exclusively to control the camera and maybe the keyboard for fine adjustment.
  11. Hey there's all these SSNs lurking out in the road. Has something happened? **peeks outside the window** Is it the end of civilization? Have they picked up some sort of disease that zombie-fiezes them? **loads up shotgun** I bet we get leakage (which may be the problem the Justicar came down with for an excuse)
  12. I remember that article. I also remember thinking the game looked like crap because the vehicles weren't scaled correctly with the buildings. A friend of mine (Brian Rock) convinced me otherwise.
  13. Cobber! How's life out in Seskatchewan? (as they say in Corner Gas...there's nothing to get in the way of the scenery) How's the charming missus? How's the rock farming?
  14. After I got used to it, I played the beta-CMSF exclusively in Real Time. So Real Time for me.
  15. And Battlefront has never let us down in the past with post-release game improvement (and lets face it, the crew has earned a very good reputation in this regard). You normally don't get that level of after-release commitment from the bigger game publishers.
  16. NO! Now shutup and let daddy concentrate on driving!
  17. Pffft Commodore 128 isn't old! Tandy coco, now that's old. I think Kampfgruppe was my first Computer Wargame as well, but it was SSI's Panzer Strike that I first lost my heart too. I think I played the campaign game of that over and over.. and over.. and once I got sick of it, I played it some more.
  18. My specs are AMD Athlon 64 3400+ XP Pro GeForce 6600GT 256Mb 1 GB Ram Direct X 9c and it did me well enough during beta testing (then again I didn't have graphics cranked to maximum)
  19. And lemme guess, you're staying up all night on the chance they'll put the demo up?
  20. If I correctly recall a story about what transpired once in a darkened restaurant, darkness is always much more fun.
