  1. Hi, I see there are some old hands here . Yup.. CMMC as masterly run by James Bailey is the finest wargame I have come across.. truly . My method for use of Panzer Campaigns is indeed just a scaled down, dumped down versions of the great CMMC... ! All the best, Kip. PS. CMMC was so fantastic I think it has somewhat intimidated some...
  2. Hi, Am only half an hour in but am greatly enjoy this. Attacking AI very impressively setup. May or may not affect the outcome, but things look realistic from the defenders point of view on the receiving end. Which is what matters... Am not optimistic I will do quite as well as Nelson above.. . But is fun anyway... . Hoping for more scenarios... All the best, Kip.
  3. umlaut, hi, Yes... I agree congratulations on the Stalingrad/Generation War look . Great stuff, All the best, Kip.
  4. Hi, Yes... keep them coming... Looking forward to more and more . All the best, Kip.
  5. Grunt GI, Ok... not that easy because most of the books come from a certain source that in its self has history... however... for ’43. The Wehrmacht Retreats... by Robert M Citino. Very much an operational analysis... but superbly written. Soviet Blitzkrieg, The Battle for White Russia 1944 by Walter S Dunn. Very dry, but bursting with top quality info on the Red Army of the time. Info comes from General Gehlen, German’s head of Soviet Studies and his work has been certified as spot on. He very efficiently collected info on what the Red Army was and how it did things. All the best, Kip.
  6. Kohlenklau, Great little game... fun and different. Congratulations... . All the best, Kip.
  7. Kohlenklau, Great piece of R&D... very useful to know for building breakthrough operations and more in the future... . All the best, Kip.
  8. Togi, Some fun videos... . Thanks... All the best, Kip.
  9. Der Alte Fritz, Yes... I have his books... I had forgotten about them... they are tremendous. Must go a dig them up. Thanks for the reminder... . All the best, Kip.
  10. JasonC, I agree 100% with that... I have been reading Raus and the Soviet General Staff on Lvov and there is not much matchup. The guys who wrote the German and the Second World War series regard all the memoirs from the German generals after the war as “fiction...” But...given what we have to work with... the Newton translation of Raus is as good as it gets... Given what we now understand about people German general’s memoirs were, in retrospect.., never going to anything but very heavily spun. For some smaller unit anecdotes, accounts, there is Panzer Warfare on the Eastern Front by Hans Schaufler. But not the more formal After Action type reports that would be perfect. All the best, Kip.
  11. Daft, hi, Panzer Operations by Erhard Raus, Complied and Translated by Steven H Newton. Covers a lot of the same ground. The US Army pamphlets that were produced in the ‘50s were often based on interviews with Ruas. Very important to get the version translated by Newton. As he points out the pamphlets were very poor translations. Often did not pick up the true meaning of the German records of the interviews. All the best, Kip. PS. In my view the above is one of, for tactics in fact “the...” best German officers memoir of the Eastern Front.
  12. Hi, Yup... I flicked through a few quick examples and was very pleasantly surprised... looked very good. Have saved it as a favourite. If in doubt can always check to book... Good stuff, All the best, Kip.
  13. Hi, Vanir Ausf B clever table... . However just to restate the usual... the standard work on this subject, used by Charles or was last time he report on the subject is World War II Ballistics : Armor and Gunnery by Lorrin Bird and Robert Livingston. So a search that gives up tables there from is what you are really after. All the best, Kip.
  14. H1nd, hi, It is a fantastic map... truly.. . No time to help with testing anything... wish I had.. but certainly do appreciate the map and do understand how much work it must have taken...! All the best, Kip.
  15. Kieme, Don’t stop now... Keep them coming... much appreciated... ! Thanks... All the best, Kip.
  16. Kieme, Yes... great mods.... . Thanks... All the best, Kip.

  18. Hi, I must remember to try and get in the habit of donating some money when going through one of my download binges at the site . All the best, Kip.
  19. Hi, Yes... Mark, plus Phil and Charles for the coding of the new AI, have done a great job. Equally.. I also agree that small – medium QBs have a great feel to them, very involving. Mirco management is fun . We are lucky to have CM... All the best, Kip.
  20. Kieme, hi, You definitely have a fine talent for giving structures the worn, low quality look that must have been so common on the 1940s Eastern Front. Great work... . All the best, Kip.
  21. Hi, No... I don’t think they are spotted too easily.. in RT. All the best, Kip.
  22. H1nd, hi, Great work, great map... superb . Congratulations.... ! All the best, Kip.
  23. Vincenzo21, hi, I am probably on the wrong thread but just saw your name... I was shocked to see you have done a winter landscape mod... looks great.... congratulations... . Of course if some way could be found to remove/replace the leaves would be best... but within the limits of what is possible as of now... very high quality work... superbly done . Thanks.. All the best, Kip.
  24. PS. May have seen it already... but Broadsword56 over on the Mods forum, has built a great operational game you may wish to use... very cunning stuff indeed. Kip.
  25. Cogust, hi, Would not risk arguing with you... I see you from Sweden... that is almost Finland.. you guys know the deals about some of the smaller players in this area. However... quick two thoughts.. Hungarians did do some fighting on the German side during the last half of ’44.. plus... remember I have increased the Soviet losses by a full 47% to account for Forgotten Battles. By ’44 this is certainly way too high. Maybe as low as a ten or fifteen percent uplift needed. I am sure you are correct about Axis but if we were to dig really deep on all figures I don’t think the outcome would overall increase the Soviet figures. Yours would increase them... but the correct figure for Forgotten Battles would for example lower them again. But interesting stuff... All the best, Kip.
