  1. Again, FYI - devs stated in russian forums that this shouldn't be considered a demo, but really an Alpha version. A lot of people were asking for a preview, so they delivered. And for an Alpha it looks pretty good
  2. FYI this new tank sim is from the creators of T-72 Balkans On Fire.
  3. Steve, considering that most people today have 17" and 19" LCD monitors, who's native resolution is 1280x1024 I think it'll be major thing not to support it. What good is CMx2 graphics when it is viewed on ugly stretched lower resolution on LCD's.
  4. Something is wrong here. I've never seen JasonC being rude, especially calling people "stupid". Two possibilities here 1) It isn't real JasonC that wrote it. 2) It is real JasonC who is high/drunk/etc.
  5. I'd pick #2 where more equipment (T-80's, BMP's, Chinese) can be added. No need to worry about story line. Why? Because game will only ship with maybe 20 missions but there will be 100's created by users afterwards. I'll bet you my monthly paycheck, that even if you choose #1, within weeks of game release someone will make a good mini-campaign that will be semi-historical, with different story line, maybe even set in the past in a what-if scenario (like Operation Flashpoint). Look at CMx1 missions, how many of them are semi-historical of totally fictional. And they are all great! Having more units (T-80, BMP) will prolong game's life as new missions will be created day after day. Look at CMx1 games.
  6. Just downloaded the pack and played the first scenario. Very well done! I'd live to see more!
  7. In a way you are right. In the days of CMBO people were more tolerant to newcomers. Not so today. As a result thic attitude could very well transfer to the loss of a sale(s).
  8. Steve, So will Aircraft and AA fire look like in CMBB or abstracted to the point that you don't even see AAA tracers?

  10. That's like saying - there are terrorists in your city so we are going to bomb the whole city. And don't be surprised if you get killed in the process

    PBEM?

Does it mean you will include the SFS Cracker tool with the game
  12. Jason, seriously, I think you should write a book. Or at least an e-book. Think about it.
  13. Just wondering - what company developed this licesing software for you guys? I know it isn't StarForce...
  14. There are two files there cmbb.exe (6Mb) and Barbarossa to Berlin.exe (7.8Mb) Which one is the proper one to launch? What is the other one for? Thanks! [ May 24, 2006, 09:43 PM: Message edited by: dima ]
  15. So now you can offer downloading weekly builds of beta CMSF for (say) $15 per build Seriously, this is great news! With this option I am sure even more people will get exposed to quality games made (or publishes) by Battlefront.com and community of serious wargamers will grow.
  16. So suppose you bought the game online from another country or just plain downloaded pirated version. Are you serious that you'll be spied on by secret services? How are they going to do that? Monitor your internet traffic when you play online? Is it really that serious?
  17. Bruce, any plans on game manual? How big will it be? Printed or PDF only?
  18. As a non-german can I ask how do kids study history, don't history books have those symbols? What about WW2 movies?
  19. Didn't see CAS mentioned anywhere. In CMBB players usually didn't have these, especially since they couldn't really control these units. What about CMC? If aircraft do appear, will they appear on the operational level? Tactical? Both?
  20. Is it really that expensive to ship a tank? It doesn't weight that much... Flatcar and/or tractor-trailer can haul it and certainly can cargo ship
  21. Building editor, Wow ! They didn't even have it in russian version. That'll keep game even more popular. Semi OT. I always wondered why game develoipers would not release editor tools. How can it be bad? Or, get this, they would sometimes release crippled version of editors. Novalogic is known for that. I never understood their reasoning. If anything, it will only prolong the life of the game and generate more sales. iD Software, Valve prooved it loong time ago, yet we still have games released without editors.
  22. Just a comment about StarForce - russian version no longer has it. Publishers themselves released a patch that disables it. Oh, and very good news about russian voices too! Just 'cause I am russian

  24. I totally agree, I've started playing operations lately and can't go back to battles. With ops you've got strategic elements which add another dimmension to overall experience. One other thing I liked about your map is that it isn't very wide and makes it easier to keep in touch with all the troops.
  25. Playing it now, just finished second battle, looks very good so far ! Edited: Just finished it, got major victory on 6-th battle. I'd suggest giving more armor reinforecements to Allied as it looked a bit too easy. [ June 28, 2003, 03:13 PM: Message edited by: dima ]
