  1. I can confirm on the first one. Trouble is reproducing it. Do you have a savefile ?
  2. Could someone explain to me how skirts protect from ATR rifles. I understasnd for HC, it detonates charge prematurely, but ATR round is simply a piece of metal. Thanks !
  3. For SU-85, SU-100, SU-122 it is 3deg down, for SU-152 5deg down Source is in russian http://redtanks.bos.ru/tanks.htm [ January 24, 2003, 10:58 PM: Message edited by: dima ]
  4. In game IS-2 uses blunt-nosed AP rounds since the begining. However in some russian online sources I have the info that BR-471B rounds, weren't shipped to front-line units until after the war. Regular BR-471 sharp-nosed shells were used instead. Does anyone have any info on this issue to confirm or deny my findings ? Thanks !
  5. The closest there is 11.8 thousand in 1939. Source is here (if you can read russian) http://www.mojgorod.ru/moskovsk_obl/mozhajsk/index.html Can't find the map though. Just one thing I know - the city wasn't completely destroyed since they managed to save many historical monuments.
  6. Turret rotation and hull rotation of tanks in CMBB has been confusing me a lot lately. So I went and looked up info. From russian armor history books for T-34-85 it is stated that turret had electrical motor for rotation. Maximum was 4.2 RPM. In tests on elite tanks in CMBB the turret turns 180 degrees in 20 sec. In other words rotation speed is 1.5 RPM. This seems a bit too slow even on the battlefield. Would anyone elaborate on this ?
  7. Personal Info, eh ? I know this is unAmerican to lie, but did any of you consider giving personal information like: Joe Shmoe 123 Any Street, Anytown, Angola, 12345 If they need e-mail for confirmation, just make some box on Yahoo. It's amazing how people here can play such a complex game, but are unable to figure such simple tricks.
  8. A newbie question: where do you guys buy kits for these ? What are they called in general ? After looking at those beauties, I wanna try myself Thanks !
  9. I wonder if it would be more life-like to have cuptured troops sometimes yell "I surrunder" in the language of the enemy. I remember talking to my grandfather and he confirmed than many of his comrades knew such words in german. It was considered smart to ask not to shoot in the language of the enemy, chances are they'll understand you better Same goes for russians yelling "hande hoh !" to captured germans. Would you guys (BTS) consider adding such sounds ? [ May 17, 2002, 01:17 PM: Message edited by: dima ]
  10. Nice... Yeah, lets bring more dirty laundry into CM forum. Don't you folks have nothing better to do (like finally redesign that CMHQ website ?)
  11. Well, the question still remains: in CMBB will concrete bunkers be undestructable even for 150+ rounds unless it is a slit penetration ? How about it, BTS ?
  12. True, only at the end of the war did russians encountered bunkers on German territory. Now what would be a german equivalent to SU-152 ?
  13. Reading about Russian SU-152, the fact that its HE round was able to crush through up to 1 meter thick concrete wall, I wonder if this will bring an end to those undestructable concrete pillboxes. And I didn't find references saying that PillBoxes had thicker walls. Anyone care to comment ?
  14. Idea sounds great ! Does it mean you will still need to understand structure of Savegame ? If so, just make sure you don't live in good old US of A otherwise you'll have DMCA violation law-suite on your A*S in no time. [ February 25, 2002, 06:53 PM: Message edited by: dima ]
  15. Some resistance (partisans) units can be considered Elite. There are many books on the topic (mostly never translated in english )which describe many of the raids having as high as 1:10 losses ratio. BTW, Hi Mom ! [ February 25, 2002, 02:06 AM: Message edited by: dima ]
  16. Well, let's hope this option will work in CMBB. If not right from CD, then maybe with the patch. It is too good to miss.
  17. May 9-th would be the best date to realease it. If it is ready of course.
  18. I am sorry if this has been descussed before (it must have been but search didn't give anything usefull) so here's the deal: Why dug-in tanks remain stationary in battle. Don't know about US and Germans, but in russian tank manuals it was clearly stated that When digging in, tank crew must make sure that tank can get out easily. What are the prospects for CMBB ? 19. The guy who made them released these just last month, so he will probably produce more. I can't wait to see Stuart
  20. Have fun: Sherman: http://www.cgocable.net/~dema/sher.jpg Tiger http://www.cgocable.net/~dema/tiger.jpg BT-7 http://www.cgocable.net/~dema/bt.jpg [ February 01, 2002, 07:09 AM: Message edited by: dima ]
  21. This one isn't showstopper but would be nice if it didn't make it into CMBB. Greyhound and halftrack were driving into opposite directions. Once Greyhound came close, game engine "calculated" 0% hit probability, he started targeting something else. 20 seconds later halftrack wasted my M8.
  22. <blockquote>quote:</font><hr>In any case, it cannot be modeled due to the physics model in the current CM engine. It might go into consideration for the engine rewrite however. <hr></blockquote> I didn't really mean for a tank to have an order such as "Drive over Him". But a mere .................................... if (collision with vehicle && itIsFriendly) then moveItOutOfTheWay(); if (collision with vehicle && itIsEnemy) then makeItBlowUp(); ..................................... This isn't a showstopper but only a nice touch. Like in that russian anekdote "Minor feature, but pleasant" [ 12-23-2001: Message edited by: dima ]</p>
  23. In the very same scenario I had Panzer IVG attack M3A1 Scout car - it happened so that tank was moving FAST and missed his first shot, so he basically keept on going and moved scout car some 5 meters before killing it with another shot. In real life that car would be dead from collision. In eastern front damaged russian tanks _on_occasion_ would ram enemy tanks to damage or destroy them. While the chance of such an event is rare in CM, it would be nice if enemy vehicle (at least soft one) would be destroyed when enemy tank rams it. Just a thought [ 12-23-2001: Message edited by: dima ]</p>
