Steve, I don't think there is a need to explain all the reasons why CM is what it is. It is kind of pointless and even seems like you feel sorry We love CM, we don't want anything else. In one of the battles I had PZ IV (70) against 3 Shermans at 170 meters range. 2 of my shermans got killed pretty fast even though they kept hitting target with ricoshets. Finally one of them hit PZ's gun so it became defenseless. So I leave it there to finish the job and it keeps coming closer and firing and keeps getting "Ricoshets" (it was firing on the front armor) Eventually I had to use my infantry to blow the damn thing up. No the question is: is 17 ricoshets at this range normal ? 'Cause it seems easier to kill King Tiger this way than PZ IV !

2B, I think you are confusing basic market situation here. Average game in the US costs $35-39USD, so multiply it by 1.5 and you'll get price you pay here in canadian dollars. Just like new GeForce 2 costs $300US and $450 CND (plus 15% tax) If you do want to blame someone - blame all the jerks who voted Liberals yesterday, thus making situation here in Canada continue to get worse. Canada has the highest tax among G7 btw.

I ordered from Canada, and yes, I paid ~85CDN But trust me, it is better than five other games I bought lately. Of course if you don't like the demo - don't buy it. BTS is clear on this on their main site.

Can I ask a silly question: what "movies" are these ? Does it mean someone can record a movie of the battle and then let others watch it ? How to record it then ?

Someone already posted when I was typing Regarding #2 - very realistic ! Russians during WW2 used to destroy tanks with wat was called "Molotov's coctail" Two parts of gasoline and one part of motor oil, all in a glass bottle, with some cotton sticking out from the bottle. Fire up this piece of cotton, and through on the tank, especcialy on its back park. Bottle brakes, misture of gas and oil spills in flames. Because tank (even buttoned) has holes here and there, burning liquid goes inside tank and starts fire there. Even one 1L bottle was enough to disable tank. Try installing different versions of Detonator drivers. 5.xx, 6.xx, even 7.xx Maybe you'll find good ones.

Why "on earth" would anyone want to UNINSTALL CM Even if I ran out of space I'd rather delete some Windows system files

Actually with my GeForce 2, Windows 2000, and 6.47 drivers I have a prob: If I launch a game, and then even before going to the actual battle, ALT+TAB to the desktop and then back into the game, launch a battle - it will crash with "Unhandeled Exception". So only 6.31 work for me.

Right before I discovered CM, I tried Panzer General, Scorched Earth I think, and thought it was a great game. Now looking back and comparing them is like comparing bycicle and Porsche Boxter

Pud, I was actually interested in some place else, not during the game, to find details on every unit. Maybe a web-site or something.

420, I actually lost "South of Sword" two times, miserably, trying to play "by the book", placing units far away, by the buildings, on the flanks, until I decided to just move them forward, put them all close together and just let them shoot at approaching tanks.As a result I lost 13 vehicles, enemy lost 48 ! Is there any way to check such kind of features of tank and other vehicles? I know there is in-game info, where I click on the unit and can open page with all the info. Hovewer it is silly in heat of a battle to start learning about your ( and enemy's ! ) strength and faults

I was playing "South of Sword" recently and had two Churchills there with flamethrowers attached. While flame-throwing is cool to watch, something else amaized me. The tank was located on the open ground, ~700 meters from advancing enemy Panzers, Lynx's etc. beside my Churchill there were a couple of Shermans, Stuarts... Enemy started attacking. From 700 meters it took one, at worst two derect hits to destroy Sherman, one for Stuart, but my Churchill took 11 hits, direct hits, and no damage whatsoever. Most shells bounced off, or broke ! The question is, are those really that strong ? They appear to be stronger than even Tigers !

What's ASL ?

I am serious ! Is there anything out there coming close to CM ? 'Cause like me, quite many people descovered CM by accident: it is not sold in stores and it doesn't get 0.1% of publicity of that of say, Red Alert 2. Dima

Just a tip: If you are using nVidia card and installed DirectX, DO NOT install latest Detonators 7.17: they are a lot slower despite being more DX8-friendly. 6.47 are the best even with DirectX 8
