Moosegum
No reason to wait for the campaign fix before you buy the game, there's plenty to do in the meantime. All the single battles are working fine and there's lots of user-made stuff out there too (especially the Ghost campaign). So, get downloading!

Now, if the Paradox fix arrives in half an hour I'll feel a little stupid, but what the heck - I just got an unexpected day off (major power failure at work) and I'd rather feel stupid than bored, so, I showed them the money.

PanzerMike
Saw this on the Paradox forum: Just to give you an update: the file has now been re-submitted to us by the printers and Battlefront will add their final touch to the file and we should be all set to go. Kind regards Susana Meza

John Malcolm
If you look at Egon's list, and then go to any of the major bittorrent sites, you'll notice that SecuROM seems to have no effect in preventing piracy. All these types of protection do is prevent 'casual copying'. I believe that this is also the second time SecuROM has caused an issue for those of us whose chose to purchase a Paradox version of this title. We are being punished for living in Europe and wanting to walk into a game store and purchase a physical copy of the game. I'm drifting a wee bit away from the topic here (which is please make this game work... soon), but I've always thought that companies that utilise copy protection in an attempt to increase sales by preventing imagined loss of earnings are foolish. A better method is to release a great, working title and to encourage loyalty among customers by continued support and listening to concerns. Doing this will lead to the best kind of free advertising... recommendation and word-of-mouth. Battlefront used to seem like this (I know they still used copy protection, but it was less intusive). Not only did I purchase all three of the previous Combat Mission games, but I convinced at least 3 other people to do the same. I haven't dared even to ask any of my friends to buy CMSF yet.
PanzerMike
Maybe Battlefront can tell us, since they need to add their final touch (whatever that is)?
John Malcolm
I'm more worried that "the printers", whoever they are are involved in the process. If they can't get it right, who will they turn to next? The cleaners?

vincere
gunnergoz, where's the mirror that you're using? I tried strategy infomer and the mirror kept resetting. Some of the other sites are saying it's days old so I don't want to download the old 1.06.

Madmatt
Use any of the links listed on the download page. They are all new. Its possible that they show an older file date, but they have all confirmed to me that they replaced with the newer version. vertigus
I've downloaded new 1.06 and it crashes every time at scenario beginning when i try to select anything other than infantry squad. What the..?
vincere
vertigus, Hmm, it appears that there are CTDs with 1.06; but all reports suggest they occur in wego, and usually replay of wego turn. Your your crash sounds like it just might be the first 1.06 version. Where did you get it from?
vertigus
Downloaded yesterday from one of mirrors on the battlefront page. Can't remember which one exactly. But it should be the new corrected one, right? I guess, i'll wait for the 1.07 patch.
