bloodstar
Hey People, Possible Error in FAQ. Readiness is listed as: Readiness = ((Strength + HQ Rating) / 2 + Morale) / 2 Shouldn't that be: ((Strength + HQ Rating) / 2 - Morale) / 2 ?? And the morale Calculation looks confusing at first glance, but one presumes that strength has a maximum of 1.00. But otherwise the information is really informative! Mark Actually both the readiness and morale calculations give a value relative to 10, then it is shown as a percentage in game. For example, let's say a unit has moved and starts with the following (just arbitrary values): Morale = 90% (from last turn) Strength = 10 Supply = 8 Hq Rating = 7 The new morale value would be: Morale = 9 * .75 + (9 - 9 * .75) * .8 = 8.55 = 85.5% Readiness = ((10 + 7) / 2 + 8.55) / 2 = 8.52 = 85.2%
Edwin P.
How does morale recover? Ie, return to 100%.

bloodstar
gah, my apologies... now it makes sense... just didn't understand how the parens were working and I forgot my basic order of operations.... sigh, and I call myself a programmer? SeaMonkey
Uhhh...sorry HC, one small mistake, but relevant...the second 9 in the New Morale equation should be a 10 (strength) making the result 9.35 = 93.5%, making the new readiness result 89.25% or 89.3 rounded. Sorry my anal retentativeness (is that a word?) comes to the surface ,....occasionally. Didn't I suggest ...rest?
Hubert Cater
That's why it's probably good I let the computer handle the calculations Good catch!

John C
From the Home Page of the game: Currently in development (scheduled for a Q4, 2004 release), the new grand strategy masterpiece... From the FAQ: Q. When is it going to be released? A. When it's ready! If the FAQ is intended to indicate the original Q4 target is not likely (which is my assumption), then it might be prudent to adjust the product home page as well just to maintain consistency and avoid setting erroneous expectations. John C
From the Home Page of the game: Currently in development (scheduled for a Q2, 2005 release), the new grand strategy masterpiece ... Thanks for the update. While we are all looking forward to this game, part of that anticipation comes from knowing that when we do get it, it will be at the same outstanding quality level we have come to expect from you guys.
