In Stores : November Release for Afrika Korps Likely

Posted by Chris 'Pie4Foo' Abele @ 17:27

Indirect comments from both CDV and Battlefront indicate a November release is likely for both US and European customers.

Gaming news site Blue's News highlighted a posting from a CDV representative revealing the German publisher's plans to release Combat Mission: Afrika Korps (after action review) to Europe in late November. CDV owns the rights to publish Battlefront.com's titles in the European market, including the Combat Mission series of 3D, turn-based World War II wargames. In addition to this revelation, Battlefront seems to be hinting at its plans to release Afrika Korps in North America on or around November 15th. As part of their announcement of a new Combat Mission: Beyond Overlord and Combat Mission: Barbarossa to Berlin combo pack earlier this week, Battlefront revealed a new combo pack would become available on November 15th containing both Barborossa to Berlin and Afrika Korps. To date, Afrika Korps has not yet gone on sale but will likely only be available to North American customers via web orders through Battlefront.com.

Totally off the subject, GJK, do you know if UT has a map repository for the USGS?

The way I saw it, BFC said that the CMBO/CMBB bundle was to go off sale by Nov. 15th and would be replaced by the CMBB/CMAK bundle but they didn't specify how soon that would be after.

If you nongs read the home page every so often, you'd have picked that up for yourself.

Pah. News. I've known about this for a week

(and feeling damn smug about it)

That article makes an incorrect assumption, let me clarify.

On November 15th the CURRENT CMBO-CMBB bundle pack will be discontinued in anticipation of a new bundle with CMAK and CMBB taking it's place later this year.

That does NOT mean that on November 15th CMAK will be ready and shipping. It may or it may not, we do not know yet, but thats the day we picked to stop selling the current bundle, regardless of when CMAK ships.

Yes, no matter where you live, you will be order CMAK directly from Battlefront.com this time, even in Europe. ;)

As soon as we have a confirmed CMAK ship date we will be announcing it as loud as we can, you can be sure of that.

Straight from the MadMatt's mouth. We are getting close folks, it MIGHT be ready by Nov 15th! Of course, I could be just translating this totally wrong and be giving bad info on skewed assumptions of a misread post.

Equally, it might be Jan. 15th. Not really likely, but then, neither is the date you quote. I wouldn't mind at all if you turn out to be right, but believe me, I won't be throwing myself out any windows if you aren't.

I'm going to throw myself out of a window if I don't get a demo within the next... week.

Well, that is if I can manage to dislodge those pesky safety screens from my window. You know, those stupid things that keep children from falling out on "accident". Well, maybe I will fall out the first story window.

Anyway... I think CMAK should be shipped to all North Americans first, then the Europeans can have a go at it... not trying to be partial or anything... but I think my countrymen and the poor socialists up north need a little "pick-me-up" or we might start throwing ourselves out windows. You don't want to lose hundreds of customers, right?

Just remember the CMAK checklist.

-demo within the week

-ship first to N.A.

-laugh at the Europeans

It will all be okay after that.

Ahhh.... but tulips are incapable of surviving the arctic tundra of the midwestern U.S.A.; we have wildflowers in our flower beds. Well, maybe that's because we are poor. Nevertheless, I will miss the flower bed and end my 2 foot fall on cold concrete.

Well, it will be cold concrete before the sun rises. But, if I choose to fall AFTER the sun rises then it will be baking hot concrete.

Choices, choices.
