Monty
I guess you first have to clean your desktop before you dare to post it hehehe LOL Here is a small hint to keep your desktop clean and tidy : Make ONE Folder on your desktop. In that folder, you make sub-folders like a folder called CMBB ( notch notch ) In the CMBB folder, you put all your CMBB related links and stuff. Voila, simple but effective ! Ok, who's next ? MontyTerrible advice, if you ask me. All my important links are right on the desktop so I can access them quickly. That's what a desktop is for! Why add an extra step of going into a folder every time you want to access something? Two different schools of thought, neither one "correct". I share an office with my boss at work - and in the physical world, I do things the opposite - she spreads everything out on the top of her desk, and I put my work into different in-baskets to keep them organized.

A colleague of mine who worked in such a company had lots of papers on his desk (because he was doing lots of work), in violation of the company policy. Some manager or other placed a written notice on his desk, saying "An untidy desk is not necessarily a sign of genius". His response, which I thought was very reasonable in the circumstances, was to add a written notice of his own, saying "But this one is". All the best, John.
ParaBellum
That's a pic from FS2002, my beautiful Ju 52/3m over the island of Corsica. Not really CM-related, of course...

Michael Dorosh
I was running a program called ESP at work - I took a screen shot of the program in use and saved it as my wallpaper. Mostly cause I thought it was funny. It was after reading something here in the CM General Forum about a dude who did the same thing - screenshotted a program in use, saved it as wallpaper, then got rid of the icons on the desktop and minimized the task bar - convincing his coworker that the computer had frozen from misuse and putting him into a tizzy. I was able to fool some of my own coworkers when they tried to go an use my computer, but I mostly fooled myself about a dozen times (momentarily) before I decided it really wasn't a great thing to do. Though our ESP program was so notoriously unstable that I invented a ficitional error warning, did that up and added it to the screenshot/wallpaper and at least got a laugh or two out of it.

Just Friday I created a desktop folder on a co-workers desktop named "MY PORNO". Then I took a screenshot. Deleted that folder and then made that picture his wallpaper. He couldn't understand why he couldn't delete that folder (nor open it, nor move it). Made for a good late Friday afternoon laugh at the office. Oh, and can you say, "whisk me off to the General forum" ? Hi mom! [ December 15, 2002, 06:37 PM: Message edited by: GJK ]
