Akula2
tcip is annoying at best. Anyone that disagrees can kiss my ass.
Platehead
6am - 3.5 km West battle versus Michael Dorosh just completed. AAR and file on the way.
JasonC
4 out of 6 fights finished, though I still need a password for the end of game file (from Andrew) for one of them. 3 km west and 4 km west fights still to be resolved. So far, the Germans are advancing across most of the frontage, on the east half of the operational map.
JasonC
Akula - I hear you, I prefer having the time for a PBEM myself. But it takes long enough to resolve 6 fights per op move even this way. PBEM, we'd never get through a day.

I had a little too much to drink last night and sometimes I come here and spam rather than go out and drive. Tcip is ideal for this situation. You have no argument from me there. I'm glad we're all pulling it off so far. =)
DasNoogie
Are we every going to get 3KM and 4KM battles completed? DN
tdogg
I guess the russians are having staffing problems. me, akula2, and das noogie have been available to play those but nothing has happened. I think things will be on hold if jason c goes out of town. kinda hoping the last 2 battles would be done so we could move on to the next turn this week.
DasNoogie
hi all, dave and i knocked out the 4km battle this morning. someone needs to get in touch with sandy to fight the 3km battle. we are never online at the same time. DN
Platehead
Sandy lives in London (GMT) and is having trouble linking up with a player on the German side that has time when he is available.
DasNoogie
maybe you should have someone else take over the battle. wasn't the first round of battles suppose to have been completed on sunday.
Akula2
I could take Sandy today at his convienence if he still needs an opponent. I'm only reluctant to deny another player a game.

Platehead
Has the 3km West battle been resolved? If not send this Russian an email.
Platehead
I understand from the email from Adam that the 3 km west battle still needs to be resolved. I have the battle setup. Which German is going to attack?
Akula2
Me. Scheduled solidly for tomorrow. I'm tired and cranky tonight.
Platehead
3 km west battle complete and file sent to Jason. AAR to follow. That should be it for 6 am. Good battle Akula.
JasonC
The first operational turn has been completed. Germans advanced 1 km deep pretty much across the battle locations, stretching from the eastern flank of the front line westward for a total of 5 km. Details on losses and such are of course restricted because neither side knows the other's. The easternmost 2 locations featured German tanks accompanying infantry, while all the rest were infantry only forces. All the Russian defenders were infantry only (by force type, understand). All the locations were heavily fortified, but not defended too bitterly. Basically the Russians were content to watch the Germans navigate their obstacles, shoot a bit, then retire. Each side expended a battery's worth of mortar fire, at different locations. That much is common knowledge.
JasonC
8 AM operational maps and mini-briefings have been sent. It is now the operational orders phase of the 8 AM turn.
JasonC
Here is a simple overhead shot of common information, known to both sides, about the operational situation at 8 AM.
JasonC
And here are a few screenshots, meant to be not too revealing about anything essential the other side might not know already, but still adequate to give a feel for the first turn's actions. Dawg Bonz
Jason, RE: kursk8amsituation4or.jpg Probably a dumb question but what do the rectangles with x and ovals represent? Thanks for the update. Dawg
JasonC
Black rectangles with ovals - German armor. Black rectangles with crosses - German infantry. Red rectangles with crosses - Russian infantry. Standard military map symbols.
