JasonC
A large German air strike was delivered around 8:15 AM at grid square H3 (that is 2 km behind the front line just taken, along the eastern map edge). Stukas escorted by Me-109s. Large columns of smoke are rising from the area. There will be 3 tactical fights this turn, at locations H2, G2, and F2 - that is, the next locations northward along the 3 grid squares closest to the eastern edge. Germans are advancing into the Russian positions in all three.

Jeff Heidman
Too late to get in on this? Whichever sides can use another commander.
JasonC
8 AM fights all completed and applied, new 10 AM situation maps and reports sent to the side commanders. In the 8 AM fights, the Germans probed the right 3 km of the line - grids H2, G2, and F2 - with small forces. They were repulsed in all 3 locations. There was some supporting German artillery fire, and German air was quite active. We are now in the 10 AM orders phase. To Jeff - if we get a drop or two, as we often do at some point, sure. Right now we have more players than we are generating scenarios per turn. So consider it an "alternate" deal, at the moment.
JasonC
Jeff, send me and/or Adam email. You are in to fill a new opening. I have orders for the 10 AM turn from the Germans, but not yet from the Russians.
noob
If there is any room i would like to join as a Tactical Commander. I have a lot of experience with CMBB so if its possible count me in.
JasonC
OK noob, I'll consider you an alternate. Right now we aren't short - assuming Jeff is "in" - but we easily could be, soon. In the campaign, there are two fights in the 10 AM turn, at G2 and H2 - each a location fought over previously, in the 8 AM probes. The Germans are attacking again in those two locations, along the east edge of the map. Scenarios have been generated and sent. Side commanders, please brief your commanders and help schedule the games.
JasonC
Germans took both H2 and G2 in the 10 AM fights. The Russian force in H2 was basically destroyed, but took out several German tanks in close assaults - which came right up to their trenches. New maps and briefings have been sent. It is now the Noon turn.
JasonC
Russian noon orders received. Waiting on German noon orders.
DasNoogie
please note that the several tanks where 2 immobile, 1 of whick was no where near the trench line, and 2 that were abandoned not knocked out. jason, you never got back to me howe many enemy kia's there were, i'm sure graves registration must have counted them. JasonC
All scenarios files sent for the three Noon fights, F2 E2 and D2. There was also some Russian counterbattery fire at grid G(-1).
JasonC
Some screenshots from the campaign - Grid H2 at 10 AM These Russians fought hard, but in the end had to surrender - still H2 10 AM At 8 AM over at G2, layered Russian defenses stopped a Pz Gdr probe. Lt. Schonfelder of the German panzergrenadiers views the front of the same position through his binoculars, at 4x zoom, still G2 at 8 AM At 10 AM the Germans came back with panzers and took the position. The Russians only had ATRs.
Platehead
Alright you Germans. It looks like I been thrown into the fray yet again and I need an opponent for the Noon D2 battle. Who's available?
Bigduke6
Sandy, are you still in on this? We're trying to reach you.
JasonC
The noon battles have been fought. I have a German AAR for the F-2 fight but no password, and a Russian password but no AAR. For D-2 and E-2 I have all I need, and results from those have been reported. The Russians retained those locations.
JasonC
Noon fights resolved and reports sent, briefings and new situation maps sent. The Germans did not take any of the three locations fought over in the noon turn. A company of panzers were at the F2 fight, and exited through the area during the tactical fight. They were last seen around E1, as far as common intel goes. It is now the 2 PM orders phase.
JasonC
I note that the campaign began 5 weeks ago. We have done the pre-game set up, 6 AM, 8 AM, 10 AM, and noon turns. It is now the 5th operational move. There have been 14 tactical fights and 8 operational bombardments, most of the latter at 6 AM. Things are moving along pretty well in terms of game logistics, despite a bit of "churn" at the tactical commander level. The most serious fighting was seen at 6 AM (6 fights) and 10 AM (2 large fights, one of them pressed home more than most). The Germans have taken 7 locations and kept all they have taken. Their deepest penetration is 2 km. There are 3 more day and 1 dusk turn left in the first day, then 2 night turns.
JasonC
2 PM orders have been received and processed. German heavy artillery bombarded grid H3 shortly after 2 PM. There are tactical battles at D2, E2, and F2 - the Germans are attacking again in the same locations fought over at noon. Scenarios have all been created and sent to each side with their briefings. Side commanders, please arrange the games.
JasonC
All 2 PM fights have been resolved and applied, and new situation reports sent. The Germans took all three positions, taking large numbers of prisoners in D2 and E2. They attacked with armor in each location. F2 was a closer result but in the end the Russians had to withdraw. German armor probed E3 afterward, took AT fire, and withdrew to E2. That much is common knowledge. It is now the 4 PM turn.

JasonC
4 PM orders processed, all scenarios made and sent. There are 3 tactical fights this time, in C-2, E-3, and F-3. All are German attacks. In addition, there was an operational bombardment by Germany arty directed as Russian mortar positions, as the rival artilleries continue to trade counterbattery blows.
