Grab a working M249 file and right click to jot down its properties. size in KB and under details, the bit rate in kbps. Then import/open your new one in audacity and modify it to be the same. Modify AFTER you select the entire file. The sound squiggle thing with timeline should be darkened. Export as a wave file. Make sure you name it properly too. right click on that NEW one and check if it matches the original specs Slap in z folder. Restart the game and try it out. Centurian52 Posted August 24, 2023 Share Posted August 24, 2023 I remember getting a whole bunch of 30s and 40s music from Britain, the US, the Soviet Union, Germany, and Italy, and using them as the music for CMBN (got the US and British music), CMFI (got the Italian music), CMRT (got the Soviet music), and CMFB (got the German music). I don't remember where I got it from. I'm sure it was one of the usual places to find Combat Mission mods. I did a collection of „intro music“ for BN, FI and RT a long time ago. For RT Iit included the Russian anthem and a few regimental marches,’IIRC. Should still be available at the FGM mod depot. Vinnart Posted October 7, 2023 Share Posted October 7, 2023 (edited) This is the one I use for CMRT intro music if any one wants I'll upload. For CMBN - I use Band of Brothers theme. For CMFB - Music from one of the John Tiller series. For CMFI- A Different Star Blazers soundtrack music. For all modern warfare titles I use radio chatter from the HBO series "Generation Kill". All good stuff to set mood. You may be surprised at how good the Star Blazer soundtrack music is. Great war mood music that sticks with you. At least for me as the music was just one of the aspects of the series that grabbed me as a boy. If you've never seen the series it's worth the watch story wise while you're eating you're morning bowl of cereal even as an adult . It's all on the web and youtube. I think the original 1970's is still the best version, but the animation and re-boot "Space Battleship Yamato 2199" is very good too.
