Chibot Mk IX
Just want to know what is the sunset and sun rise time at CMBS? Is that a fix time in the whole game period (June to Aug)? I started a scenario , the first turn is at 5:00am. Wondering when my pixeltruppen will take off their NV googles .
sburke
Typically the sunset sunrise is based on actual times. What that means for Ukraine in June through August Ahh here you go 2017 https://www.timeanddate.com/sun/ukraine/kyiv?month=8&year=2017 Edited April 24, 2019 by sburke
MikeyD
Yeh, I've occasionally built a dawn scenario, changed the date, then WHOA! What happened! You especially notice this in CMFB where its mid winter in the northern latitudes where the sun NEVER seems to come up then it sets at an absurdly early time.

You have your sun rise and set question answered so all that is left is to tell you the limitation that you will no doubt discover: The troops will not remove or set their NV goggles. Sadly when a scenario starts in day light and gets dark troops will not engage their NV goggles. Same as the other way around, if he game starts in darkness they will not disengage their googles when daylight makes its appearance.

What is the effect on troops if they are caught with their NVGs on when the sun comes up? Michael

Erwin
It's a good question. When the sun rises, does the game treat the troops as if they now have removed the NVG goggles and have normal vision? Have very rarely played a scenario featuring troops with NVG's that starts in dark and ends in daylight.
MikeyD
No, soldiers don't take off (or put on) their night vision goggles halfway through a scenario. NGVs are 'gear' items assigned at scenario start.
Erwin
The question is whether there is any effect of wearing NVG in daylight if the troops start off with them on at night. Does the game calculate as if the goggles are removed in daylight (even tho' the graphics show goggles). Am assuming it does since there are no reports of weird vision/spotting issues.
