Sublime
good job =) 2 fausts.. ouch did anyone survive outta that M5's crew?
Baneman
I think all the crew perished, I didn't see any get out, but I could be wrong. Would have preferred only 1 guy to fire, fausts are a bit thin on the ground in this game. Although I took out an M8 a few turns earlier with another team doing a similar creep and cover arc and only 1 guy fired. Maybe the M8 seemed less robust.
xian
They work great at night when vision is limited.
Kanonier Reichmann
In the impressive example presented by Baneman it occured to me that there was one aspect of the scene that definitely didn't model the real world situation very well. In reality, the guy behind the one closer to the Stuart would be severely wounded if not dead from the backblast of the Panzerfaust seeing as it appears he's less than a metre directly behind his mate. Ouch! Regards KR
Baneman
Didn't you know ? Backblast is only modelled inside buildings J/k Hilts, I think it helped a lot that the Stuart was buttoned - I've also lost guys to omniscient tanks, but crawling is the best way to surprise them.
Sergei
One time I killed a human opponent's Churchill with a Faust when he decided to move it laterally across a cornfield. It was before the break of daylight and the Churchill had no escorts, so the tank hunters went undetected. The tank was also slow enough that I could predict where to meet it. That was thrilling to watch unfold...

YankeeDog
Baneman, I noticed in your example that the troops went into a kneeling position to fire their fausts. So I am assuming then that these weapons can't be fired whilst prone? This is, generally speaking, accurate -- the 'faust projectile has a pretty low velocity, so the firer needs to angle the tube upward and fire the projectile in an arc in order to hit a target at any distance. Standard firing pose was actually to kneel, placing the tube under the armpit and sighting through the fold-up leaf sight mounted near the front end of the tube. Obviously, this setup would make targeting when prone on flat ground problematic, as the back end of the tube would tend to hit the ground before the correct elevation was achieved.
Glukx Ouglouk
@ Hilts: You can check the proper position to fire a panzerfaust on this page (2nd picture): it's clearly not possible to do it prone.
Sergei
This isn't completely true - you could fire it from two positions, under or over the shoulder. But firing from prone position required you to be more careful, especially with how you place your legs. There were also many other ways to utilize the Faust:
Hilts
Hmmm, interesting pics, Sergei. I'm glad the donkey contraption is not represented in the game. I wouldn't fancy my chances of getting that thing within 30 metres of a Sherman........
John1966
Oh I think the donkey thing is worthy of a whole module itself. It appears to need some sort of apparatus to actually hold the donkey upright which you'd have thought made the donkey redundant. But then I suppose it could lift the whole thing and then settle back down once in range. I assume Hans here just didn't want to carry the panzerfaust. Erwin
And apparently the donkey had its own radio... OMG! The first ATGM...
dieseltaylor
I knocked out a Churchill - moving at 203m on its flank. Third shot. Did not seem to see me : ) Well as you guessed it was a schrek not a faust. I was so impressed with the accuracy.

Erwin
Actually, it would be a Panzer-AssFaust...
