  1. What is the difference between the updated campaigns in pathed folder and "old" campaigns? And why are they not included in the patch, but should be downloaded separately?
  2. I'm still playing 1.2 Steam version and keep on doing free beta testing. I skipped the 3rd mission of the Soviet campaign and proceeded to 4th mission. Unfortunately, now it's completely bugged. I can't place my defending units in the set up stage, because my PC is freezing. I tested 4th mission on 1.1 version and it runs fine (I keep it on my computer with old save files).
  3. Several important consideration for this mission and for entire CMBS: - you have UAV that can spot targets and call for artillery fire - you have plenty of artillery - you have two Mi24s in this mission - you have an advantage because Russians have thermals and Ukranians don't I would say that the key to this mission is to spot targets with UAV, supress troops with artillery strikes and kill the rest using thermals advantage.
  4. Jumping on the bandwagon of this heated discussion - which I read only in parts of course - I would ask a question: does Australia need military at all? In my opinion, this beautiful country is in the perfect circumstances to get rid of this money burner and pump recourses into education and health care. Australians don't have natural enemies, except maybe kangaroo and New Zealanders. They are separeted from others by vast ocean. Only Pentagon lobbyists can discuss with straight face the possibility of China or Martians invasion of Australia. And I'm not saying that those 2 meters high surfers (why all Australians are 2 m height people with surfing board?) couldn't be formidable foe on the battlefield. To prove my expertise in the issue I would like to recall remarkable movie by excellent Australian director Peter Weir "Gallipoli".
  5. I've read your comments, but got a little confused over the last ones.
  6. I've been following the progress of this game and played demo. Like the philosophy behind the project - blend simulation and fun in the right proportion - but the demo didn't impress me that much. Too arcadish for me. I guess, I would buy it anyway when it released and maybe reevaluate my opinion.
  7. Thank you, Artkin! I savescummed couple of times during the playthrough really admire the guys who can do the mission on one single attempt without reloading, in this regard @Grey_Fox doing a great job. It's you who made me this way! That's true, sweeties!
  8. It's still dozen of mostly "green" t-62 with BTR-80 in the open field surrounded by veteran Bradleys and M60TTS hidden in the trees on the hills from all sides. Artillery is quite limited and as always in CM games practically useless against AFVs. I would say that the previous version was somehow better, because you had forward observer team from the start who could call big arty strikes. Now they changed it for Air Controller who can call two Migs that barely scratch the enemy. Half of the times Migs attacked my own units, good thing that their cluster bombs are so impotent that they even couldn't kill my light BTRs. I managed to destroy most of the Bradleys at the hill right in front of the spawning units, so my reinforcements arrive intact. But it's really problematic to move them to the extraction zone. The arrival of M60TTS from the right side makes the whole thing quite grotesque. I tried infantry attacks, but 1) my men become exausted after 100 meters 2) they are easily spotted by great and powerful and almighty thermals that are equipped on Bradleys and M60s. This is the same thing that happened to me on the first playthrough. After first and second missions you think "ok, it could be fun", but the 3rd mission makes you think that the whole story is a prunk. Actually, the 4, 5 and 6 missions are quite ok as well.
  9. Started the 2nd playthrough of the Soviet campaign. The first mission: The second mission: But I was really disappointed to find out that the 3rd mission of the campaign is still unplayable and can't be won Sad, I hoped that they fixed it. It still can be skipped though...
  10. I left a positive review (I know, I know, you are surprised).
  11. Not in the buildings, I know that they will run away like little claustrophobic girls from firecracker if they shoot it inside. ...hey, maybe they were out of range indeed? I will double check it.
  12. Just finished my second playthrough of the 1st mission of Soviet Campaign (with steam patch). This time I got Major Victory and captured all three objectives. Still don't understand if the M113 thermals bug is fixed. There are some thermals among equipment icons in the M113 description bar. Soviet AT-4 don't shoot enemy tanks for some reason, despite having line of sight and staying in range (2,5 km from the target). I order to engage them manually and they still don't do anything. M60s apparantly can hit and kill moving T62s from 4 km away.
  13. I usually pay attention to the left down corner on your last screenshot. The formation structure in the middle only doubles it.
  14. The only thing I ever use in the middle section of the UI is ammunition and damage indicators. The rest needs to be reworked. There is plenty of space that could be used much better.
  15. That's right. But the 3rd one is completely broken and insane, I wonder if they fixed it.
  16. I've completed Soviet campaign once. Want to run it once again after Steam patch. It's really hard, and the first mission is one if the easiest.
  17. The fame of Richard Yorke provokes people to record new CM videos! Nice try, hope you will make it.
  18. Treacherous Morally bad Technologically outdated Infamous Mig-23\27 .... Sounds so sexy and badass.
  19. And on top of that - it is sinful morally bad aircraft
  20. Does it mean that F-15 should be called "infamous" as well? "The US military has confirmed for the first time a 2019 airstrike in Syria that killed up to 80 people, mostly women and children. It said the drone operators in Al-Udeid airbase were stunned when they saw the first 500lb bomb dropped by a US F-15E plane, and then a second, 2,000lb bomb dropped on the survivors". And Apache helicopter is infamous as well?
  21. That's great news, thank you! Yeah, I guess they should be an option for specialist teams.
