  1. I've never had an auto-surrender forced on me in a normal PBEM even when all my troops have been killed. They went to the time limit and ended in a ceasefire. And yes, both of those scenarios were about causing as much damage to the enemy as possible - friendly casualties weren't important.
  2. Hmm not sure how appropriate that is. It's hypothetically possible for somebody to lose all their troops and still deny victory because none of the occupy objectives were taken by the end of the match, or because the opponents casualties were too heavy (think NATO's casualty-aversion in SF2) depending on scoring. Perhaps a ceasefire would be better?
  3. Twenty years ago you would have been right, but for over a decade now it has been the case that third party security is generally worse than the Microsoft stuff because they are unaware of the zero days which Microsoft is working on closing. Attack surface area means that by using third party security software you are increasing the potential ways your system can be attacked. They tend to interfere with the operation of the OS and that can cause issues in itself. "Viruses" aren't really a thing any more, it's all about zero day exploits.
  4. Speculation I've seen is that both planes were in each others' blind spots. There are questions about the planning of the air show, and the appropriateness of the flight paths with relation to the spectators as well as the location of the air show.
  5. Current IT security best practice for home users is to not use third party antivirus as they tend to increase the attack surface area. You're better off just keeping windows up to date.
  6. Never disable Windows Defender. That isn't the problem, the way CM is designed to launch is.
  7. You can repro the bug in 2.11 (needs F&R). Save file: https://www.dropbox.com/s/7u8cnhv68rur81d/03_smoke_and_Halftrack_Turn_6_reply.bts?dl=0 Passengers in M5 halftracks (who are on the gun) can see enemy armour through thick smoke. Rest only start getting spots once the smoke starts clearing.
  8. The target tool isn't a LOS tool, and it's drawn from an arbitrary height as opposed to where the gun or commander is. The reason you can't target the ground is because from that arbitrary height (which I think is equivalent to the head height of a standing soldier but am open to correction on that) the patch of ground you are targeting isn't visible. A tank is usually taller than that, so could probably see another tank.
  9. I think it does affect acceleration. Top speeds are generally the same for different vehicle classes. Yes, affects bogging +along with experience). Idk if it affects off-road speeds.
  10. Not in WW2 they wouldn't. Germany wasn't very motorized at all.
  11. One test with a small number of vehicles doesn't prove anything, and Steve has been wrong about game mechanics before.
  12. Why is this unreasonable? What makes this a bug? Their off-road capability is rather poor after all.
  13. May be worth checking again - steam has a 30% discount for SF2 now, at least for me.
  14. Yeah you're a few patches behind - latest patch is 2.16. Update and attempt to reproduce.
  15. Steam does regional pricing, making the games more affordable in non-USD currencies, and does regular sales. This makes CM far more accessible and creates sales which may not otherwise have occurred. Another great benefit is that users do not have to check a forum to see if there are any patches as they are downloaded automatically, and steam will notify you if any DLC becomes available.
  16. What version of the game are you playing? Javelin did have a bug where the missiles would not perform the top-attack portion and would just sail into the distance if fired in a certain direction.
  17. Target arc overrides and disables the face command. If you want to use a short target arc as a way to stop them from opening fire while facing them in the right direction, use an actual arc where the centre of the arc is in line with the direction you want them to look, rather than a circular target arc.
  18. There's no point if the devs don't use it.
  19. Frontal hits to the front center of the T-90 will penetrate with the message "hit opening". There is no armour there, so even 5.56 will penetrate. https://community.battlefront.com/topic/141144-t-90a-front-armour-bug/
  20. I know, I know, several year old bugs still unfixed. BFC's update process seems to be... less than optimal.
  21. Create a helpdesk ticket for each bug, those get actual eyes on them. https://battlefront.mojohelpdesk.com/
  22. I've gotten copyright strikes on youtube due to the end of battle music. I would also hesitate to use the music on the main menu screen.
