@Artkin my friend, I get most of what you're saying but a telling point is that we're still playing CM (you for a lot longer than me admittedly). I did exclusively single player to start, but it's more PBEM at the moment, which has quite surprised me - I think because I was expecting the 'noob slap-down' behaviour I got in WOT and other games like Day of Defeat, but everyone (including you) has been lovely and it's a great way to learn.
Could things be improved, yes of course, but I'll be playing CM for a long time with or without improvements.
Also for me the current mechanics of PBEM are okay, and there are enough players here on the forum to keep me going for a long time. To me it seems you can ask a casual 'do you fancy a PBEM?' and most times the answer is yes. My disclaimer to this is that I have no idea how PBEM++ works, my bad.
And as for games bought on Steam but not played, that is huge - I think I remember reading that at least a third were not even loaded up?

Some screens in a quick and dirty wee film from a 'Heart of the Dying Sun' Many thanks to Douglas Nash for allowing the use of the name and for help in nailing down some of the detail of this action.
Love it George, looks great. I might have missed you mentioning asking Douglas, that's also great.

is the pbem+ systeme done ? or do we have to wait any longer for battle for normandy to come to steam ?
As @BFCElvis said above, CMBN is due next for Steam. And that will include PBEM+ as far as I know.
So that just leaves the question of when, which I don't know.
As I have CMBN already and play PBEMs with it already, it's not a big issue for me, but I hope for a release sometime soon.

You have not missed anything. It was 1000 'pages' on the uber-thread, not 1000 'posts'. We're a long way past that even on pages.
Things are still on the way (soon, I hope).

that would probably mean Holland 1940
Yes, I did originally type Holland after Belgium, but then deleted it .

For me, earlier WW2, so Poland, France/Belgium, Greece, Barabarossa for sure, etc. And yes North Afrika would be great (even if it's a weak title - sorry @Artkin my friend ).
But I also recognise that BFC might be expecting more sales per effort elsewhere - not something we're likely to be made privy to I imagine.
What if a massively rich benefactor stepped up to fund another WW2 title? I'm thinking of you Jacob @Aragorn2002 ?

I don't think cutting my gaming hours would make much of a dent in my energy bills. The fridge-freezer, chest freezer, electric oven and hob, washing machine etc. are probably more to blame. You guessed it we have no mains gas here.
And when it gets to winter, we're on oil-fired heating and a wood burner. God only knows what that'll cost this year.
Solar might be part of a solution (althought we don't have Chuckdyke's weather most of the time). I also don't have a huge South facing roof to stick panels on...
I'll just have to spend less on wine, women and song. Or rum, bum and baccy as I'm told they say in the Navy.

Great shot, I love using mobile AA in ground role use, whether 37mm or quad 20s. Had one of the above at Baranovichi in a PBEM and it was one of the stars of the show.
Not nice to be on the receiving end of course. Another example is the US M16 'meat chopper' with quad 50 cals - scary stuff.

Looks good, thanks to you and EZ

I'm hoping that doesn't mean you're of the Wimbledon persuasion (old or new)?

I'm open for a PBEM on it too if you want.
Thanks my friend, I'll try it solo first I think as I don't want another PBEM defeat just yet .
EDIT: Got it and loads up fine (except for the description LOL). Jeezy louisy, now to head inland...
-
Okay, it's a game so no complaints from me. Is it a worthwhile battle? If so, can I try it ? Doesn't have to be PBEM LOL...

Forgive me I can't quite make them out - Commonwealth of some sort?

Nice work. Now where are those Japanese troops ?

HI, I'VE ONLY SEEN IT ON YOU TUBE NEVER COULD FIND IT WHEN PLAYING?
No need to shout . I never saw it either, but as mentioned I was actually playing WOT Blitz, which may be different. Just wondering, it's not like I don't have enough to do in CM (my favourite game by far, just to set the record straight).

LOL F**k um, there's some great You tube videos sof it in action.
I see what you mean, that looks great - you sure you can't replicate it in CM? Would only take a minute girl (sorry song lyrics getting to me).
Th other option I have is to go back to WOT, it didn't have that map last time I was there, or maybe it was because I was using WOT Blitz, who knows. Of course I'd still be called some horrible names...
This probably ain't the place to be discussing it, but can you just select let's say that map with only historical tanks, or do you get the Frankenstein selection all around you?

I have updated my AMD Drivers and I am now able to play Day Of Attrition.
Great result, long may it continue. And good to have the feedback for other people.
And I still need to have a go at Day of Attrition...

cross them all over a bridge
An art form all of itself, which sometimes still goes badly wrong (rubber banding and units going down through the bridge come to mind). I had this with KG Peiper, which at one point delayed my panzers so much that the next attack went in as infantry only. It all ended well, but could have been better.
This is just meant as a comment by the way, previous threads have dealt with this in some detail so we don't need to re-visit unless people really want to .

Yes, what Dave said about convoys . I have often yearned for a convoy function.
On the cycling through waypoints, I'm not aware of such a thing. And yes I spend ages clicking on waypoints and paths, only to lose the path and have to find it again. Unless someone wiser (not a big ask) comes along, I think this is currently a 'wish list' item. Doesn't stop me playing though .

The sign on the store is 'Hermann Tiez' with no second t. I can't believe such a lack of historical accuracy . Great work though...

AKA a huge exercise in traffic management. I wish you luck with it.
Thanks. Happily I'm the US defenders, so my opponent has the traffic troubles (hopefully). Took us both ages to set up though.

You make a fair point. But now you make me want to re-load WOT just to see that map.
And be called a noob w****r yet again .

Not sure the recent posts have much to do with the original thread? Perhaps a mis-post, but a totally new conversation about hunting seems to have been added. At the very least, I'd move that to General Discussion.
