The bravery...  @FlammenwerferX's isolated gun crew tries to fight off my IS-2s with a P38.  I don't think 9mm is going to penetrate...

My fight with @FlammenwerferX is heating up as men and armor move through the countryside.
My recon units give the German enemy a face full of canister.


Flammenwerfer's men happen to take out one of my T-34s by killing the unbuttoned commander and then spooking the rattled crew out with grenades.  Still, having thought I had put down all the ambushers a burst of SMG fire takes down multiple men of mine at once.

However, despite the rain and cold my men are determined to make our introductions to the invader.

This German is definitely Iron Cross Material. 

Keeps a steady rate of fire with his K98 and his tactical reloads are super cool.

However slowly the mortar shells get closer and closer and nothing but nothing makes him leave his position.

The last our brave Soviet spotter saw of him. Is this the last of Fritz?

I think behind the scenes some talk is going on. We can only guess. They thought the Kaiser was bad after WW1. It is a case of better the devil you know.

One thing to note German “Superior optics” don’t often = marvellous at spotting. The gunners optics whilst excellent do not have a wide field of view. Think looking down a straw. 
once the tank commander buttons up spotting in both Panther and KT becomes more problematic. Once they do ID a target they have a high chance of hitting the target. That’s where their optics come in. 

Field of view is key in spotting. Hence why turned out tank commanders using binos have a higher probability of spotting than a buttoned up tank.

For example Panther optics field of view was 28 degrees decreasing to 14degrees at max mag. 
 
Spotting is and can be problematic and as has been pointed out there are ways you can increase the chance of spotting enemy units - key thing is taking advantage of C2 and ensuring tanks in a unit share spotting info. This is where tactics comes in.
