Screenshots are by their nature blurry and need to be processed by an editor program. My screenshots have been processed. -
Any negative to moving exhausted units?
chuckdyke replied to dkchapuis's topic in Combat Mission - General Discussion
I think they can't do any moves except walk. I have never experienced any exhausted units. However, when they are tired you can't plan a fast move. I assume you will lose quick, hunt, crawl or assault. -
Splitting unit or units in their IFV or ACP. Spit a unit before mounting and give one unit a move order whilst in the vehicle now mount the second unit. Maybe I am dumb, but it is the first time I found this working after years of frustration. If it is during set up give the vehicle a move order too otherwise the unit dismounts.

Looking for feedback on my WIP CMx1 course

As long as you enjoy it. I am 72 now and the games I have on CM2 are enough to last the rest of my life. I only just started to toy with editing. I thought about writing a manual of how to play on Iron against the AI. I just started to understand the soft factors in the game and that is after playing for something like 20 years. Only a few people on YouTube know what they are doing IMO. Two of them from whom I learned a lot a no longer active. -

IMO misguided but a lot of sales are concluded by the graphics. So CM1 is seen as one step up from space invaders. CM2 is not known for its graphics. To attract a younger support base, it needs improvement BF I am sure is aware of it. The selling point for me are the soft factors in the game. -

You select a move command and select camera position1. Now move the mouse to the centre bottom of the screen till the move command becomes a pointer. Now move the mouse up slightly till you just recover the move command. This is the driver's position, the next sequence up with the mouse-wheel gives you the fighting compartment's view. The next one after that is the commander's view with the AFV unbuttoned. Now confirm your position by clicking the mouse. Happy gaming. PS I tone map my screenshots videos by their nature are slightly blurry. -
If you played CMx1 you don't have many problems with CMx2. Pretty similar but not the same. I found in CM2 there is more into units' behavior. Play and play a lot. Suggestion when you post, quote the game, scenario, difficulty. In CM2 LOS and LOF see them as guides your TacAI has the last word. Happy gaming.

It applies to both I think, I bought CM1 on a disk and couldn't update them. I thought you bought SF2? Nowadays I play only CMx2 and see my posts as such.

Don't watch only the tentative contacts but also the combat stress pyramid. Before you start the next turn press the evading button and see the mood the trooper is in. Often when you get a tentative contact it is often too late. Area fire rarely results in kills it is more area denial. I tested LMG's on hidden troopers in a building they only suppressed and not all the time. Play a game with during action reports, after replay on hotseat against yourself so you get an objective perception. We all have different methods and see which one you agree with. We all bought the games for personal reasons.

Why is the UI text all blurry?
chuckdyke replied to nathan1776's topic in Combat Mission Shock Force 2
Go to 'Options' and play with this. I solved some problems by lowering the quality of the trees under advanced. Also go from 'Best' of some settings go to fast or fastest. It depends on your graphics card. -

I played Engine 3 on an ASUS laptop with 8GB RAM with no problems. The computer packed it in so I don't know, or it would have handled Engine 4. Go for the Bundles for value for money and what you're interested in WW2, Cold War or Modern. Best of luck and happy gaming. -

Yes, I started with CMx1 then I thought the game died a natural death, and one day I watched armchair generals' videos and I was sold. First you must say what level you play and the mode. I play WeGo on Iron as it is the most realistic IMO if somebody play RTS on Veteran we talk about a different game. We all bought the game to have fun and of all the tutorials I like the one of CM Normandy best. Read and understand the manual. -

This is the closest we have to a tutorial. In game tutorials are great. My tip don't cheat yourself by playing Zeus on your PC screen. Pass on Tentative contacts at all times. Play WeGo and replay. https://battledrill.blogspot.com/ -
From CNN as an outsider, I find it better than Fox News. https://edition.cnn.com/europe/live-news/russia-ukraine-war-news-05-17-22/h_03b8b926d3f8aa69994c715250c7dd00

Could have been an exchange between prisoners and wounded. something done behind the scenes.

Narcist and sociopath. A sociopath is a psychopath's student. But there is really no difference apart from one being born that way the other learned to be one. Master manipulators with a complete lack of moral development. They understand consequences the only way to have influence on them.

It happens less with me when I save the game more often. Also, the game backs up in the cloud while I play. It is a feature I don't want if the modem also plays a part. I am only guessing here.

Quantity is a quality on its own. Attrition one for one is not hard if you get the numbers. Four crew of the Sherman tank survived. This is modelled very well in the game. -
For the NVA and the Vietcong it was a military failure but a political success. The result is journalist were embedded with armed forces. Misinformation is counter productive.

It was under the umbrella of Mutual Assured Destruction. A Barbarossa type of invasion or a Bagration type of offensive would have been retaliated with nuclear weapons.

Capturing ammo from surrendering guys
chuckdyke replied to ncc1701e's topic in Combat Mission Shock Force 2
In SF2 A Javelin team spent all their Javelins and I had the bright idea to acquire Javelins by a US Infantry squad. They moved to the position of the Javelin team who didn't take their Javelins in full view of enemy armor. It doesn't work to acquire munitions from other units outside their command structure. Let alone acquire from enemy units.
